We were dealing with a mouse problem in our house when we first called EnviroCritter. Jake did a great job educating us on how he removes mice and prevents future infestations. We really appreciated his reasonable rates for detailed video recorded inspection, and the fact that he was professional and not at all pushy about selling his services. Another thing that sold us on working with him for additional future problems is his willingness to prefer humane solutions, because we don't like the idea of having the animals unnecessarily suffer, even if they are uninvited guests! read more

Requested a quote to remove a skunk. Jake gave me a date. 48hrs before the appointment he cancelled and picked another date. That second date came and went with no contact. Completely unprofessional and then he blamed it on the customer. See attached for convo. All I wanted was confirmation of second appointment and explained I was disappointed at the original date cancellation on short notice. Find a different company. read more

Jake sealed rodent entry points at my home. He offered a lifetime warranty on the sealing. If the mice returned he would come back at no additional charge and reseal the entry points. Mice are still getting into my garage. Over a period of a little over one year, I've asked Jake repeatedly to come back and reseal the entry points or issue a refund. He's ignored me. read more

I asked Jake if he could remove a raccoon from underneath my deck. Rather than come out and charge me, he instead gave me free advice over the phone. The raccoon left after I followed his advice. He was tremendously helpful and looked out for the needs of a potential customer. I would highly recommend Jake's services as he is clearly a master at his craft. read more

Jake came out quickly and was able to remove the dead mouse from our wall. He educated us on field mice and did an inspection to find the entry points. He was honest and did NOT use the scare tactics that so many companies used, which was both refreshing and reassuring. His pricing was fair and he did a great job! We will be using Jake again and referring him! read more

Jake came out immediately and was able to get the mom to crawl back up the flue and then he removed the baby. He placed the baby in a box and the mom picked it up that evening. We then put a cap on our chimney flue. We would highly recommend Enviro Critters to remove wildlife humanely. read more

Envirocritter - Baby being removed from our fireplace. - Pest Control Near Me - Lakewood, Colorado

Had several raccoons who decided to take up residence in my attic. Jake (and his canine partner) came out, checked around my entire property, climbed on the roof, and figured out the problem. He gave me a very fair quote to get rid of the intruders and close up the openings they used to get in. In addition to evicting my masked intruders, Jake took the extra time and did a great job sealing up my soffit - at least as good as what I would expect from a building contractor. He came back twice to get everything done, all for the same original quote. Given the amount and quality of work, the price was more than fair. read more

Found a number of skunks on a Sunday afternoon in my window well. Called Jake at 8AM on a Monday and he was out in that afternoon and removed them. Will absolutely call again if needed, and hopefully for not an as smelly visitor. read more

My call with them was super informative, and even though they were too busy to travel to Bailey to help me, they spent time on the phone with me even after they admitted I wasn't going to be a customer. I trapped the little guy and he stopped tearing up my house thanks to the folks at Envirocritter. If you are in their service area, give them a call. read more

I HIGHLY recommend EnviroCritter and Jake for your animal struggles! We had a dead raccoon in our chimney. After several phone calls to animal control, chimney sweeps and pest control services looking for services or ideas we came across EnviroCritter / Jake. Jake gave me a very reasonable quote over the phone and was not deterred knowing he would be walking into a decomposing mess. Jake arrived as planned, evaluated the situation and got right to work. It was a tough task to begin with because of the steep slant of the roof and 15 feet of dark chimney to look down and maneuver tools in. It was found to be even more difficult with the shape of the chimney, the size of chimney versus the size of the raccoon and the bloat of the raccoon. It was completely evident Jake was a true experienced professional. He successfully removed the carcass despite it all and ensured it was the only one. The process was quick and inexpensive and we were happy to learn we supported a locally owned business. Thanks so much Jake! Thanks for sharing the bull snake and your stories too! read more

Jake was wonderful! He was kind and respectful, and he explained everything he was doing in an easy-to-understand way. He also was very patient, as my roommate and I were in and out of meetings so he often had to reexplain things to each of us. I would highly recommend contacting Jake for any mouse issues! read more

On Saturday the 11th of February, we heard noises from the attic that sounded like a squirrel scratching around. Throughout the day the noises moved from the attic to then the vent in the kitchen downstairs. We online searched for animal control services and found a few. It was an overwhelming process because we never dealt with something like this. We found Envirocritter and was impressed with the reviews and photos of past jobs that Jake did. When speaking to Jake, I liked how easy he was to talk to and he explained everything that needed to be done to complete the job. He was very knowledgeable. The earliest he could come out was Thursday the 16th but I still booked with him knowing the animal may die by then. He reassured us that we had nothing to worry about and that he would take care of us on Thursday. We continued to search for other places that could possibly come sooner and found Berrett Pest Control. They had a lot of good reviews and they were able to come out on Monday the 13th so we booked with them. When Barrett Pest Control arrived, they inspected where the sound was coming from and did a quick walk around the house. They then said they couldn't help us because the animal is trapped in the exhaust vent/fan in the kitchen and they couldn't remove it. We then booked with Critter Control who came out on Tuesday the 14th. They gave us a very costly quote for $2700 ($200 to sanitize, $200 to clean up, $1400 to screen all roof vents, $700 to remove the wildlife, and $200 for ectoparasite treatment). We decided to wait for Jake to come on Thursday. Jake arrived on time, and within an hour was able to remove the animal. What we thought was a squirrel ended up being a Starling bird. He also went on our roof even with snow from yesterdays storm and screened off the vent. Jake's price was just a small fraction of Critter Controls. He was professional, trustworthy, and reasonably priced. I would most definitely recommend Jake! read more

I've hired Jake/EnviroCritter twice-- once to consult about rats in the yard, the other time to install squirrel nest boxes in my trees. Both times he exceeded expectation-- professional, knowledgeable about critter behavior, reasonably priced, communicates well and responds quickly, and best of all he's an honest guy who truly wants to help. I'm so happy with the squirrel box installation because he made some key suggestions about the placement, mounting strategy, even nesting material that I think is going to make a big difference, especially with regards to keeping predatory raccoons away. He also performed the laddering and mounting quickly and expertly. I highly recommend EnviroCritter for anything critter related. read more

I was referred to EnviroCritter by a coworker and couldn't have been happier with my choice. My neighborhood has an infestation of bunnies that seem cute on the surface, but were doing tons of damage to my garden and landscaping. Jake came over and set up a series of traps and removed quite a few bunnies. He came back over a few days, and made sure he had the traps in the most effective spot. All and all, I was really impressed by his knowledge and I really felt he did an excellent job. read more

I had a dead raccoon under our deck. I called EnviroCritter for options on what to do and was greeted very nicely and was given many options over the phone, all of which were helpful. Spoke with Jake today on Memorial Day. He is the only pest control that answered. I am so appreciate as my husband and I are going out of town this week and we have a wood pecker problem. Over the phone he told me how to deal with it our selves instead of being charged $349 to have someone come out. He was extremely helpful and he just told me how to take care of it. I would definitely recommend him if I received this customer service and all he did was talk to me. Thanks Jake!! Erin White read more

I can't recommend Envirocritter enough! I had a skunk that had taken up residence underneath my concrete slab porch and boy oh boy could you smell it--even inside the house. Jake was able to come out within a few days and after a quick assessment, determined that it was actually a DEAD skunk underneath the porch (in the process giving me a really interesting lesson on skunk mummies ; )--the guy knows his stuff!) Despite being really difficult to access, Jake was able to get the skunk out, fix the access point so that other skunks wouldn't take up residence and he took care of the leftover stink. He did all of this for a very fair flat rate that I have to say, was WELL WORTH the money. read more

Jake is the most conscientious contractor I've had the pleasure of using in a very long time. I have a very large home in the foothills with bat infestation. Our log home had numerous 40' high gaps between the log beams and soffit boards. Jake filled every nook and cranny with detail and care. No more bats in the house!. He's a true customer oriented guy. I can whole heartedly recommend him as I got to know him and his little Jack Russell over 3 weeks. This guy is a winner through and through! Cass G read more

I had a skunk in my backyard that was found to be living under my shed. I learned about the skunk AFTER he sprayed my dog one morning before I left for work (you can imagine the stench that awaited me after work). Jake was an absolute LIFESAVER! He was able to come to my house within 24H and set up traps. In the end, I trapped a total of FIVE skunks. If I had used a different company, I easily would have spent hundreds of dollars more. EnviroCritter charges a flat fee unlike many other wildlife-trapping companies in Denver. Most other companies charge an initial visit fee in addition to ~$75 for each trip to your home, regardless if the trapped animal is a skunk, squirrel or the neighbor's cat lol Jake was always responsive and timely to my texts when I alerted him that a trap was triggered. Lastly, Jake not only successfully trapped and removed the skunks, but he also went out of his way to place wiring over the holes afterwards to prevent new wildlife from moving in. He was an absolute pleasure to work with, and I recommend him highly! read more

Jake came by to inspect my house. He was very courteous and HONEST. I thought I had a squirrel problem but from my description, he said with his 18 years experience he did not think so. He said he didn't think that he could solve the problem since I did not hear consistent noises. He didn't charge me a thing for coming out and doing the inspection. I will definitely call him if we need help in the future. Thank you Jake!! read more

Jake was great to work with. Highly recommend his work. His price was affordable and his work was thorough.

We had great experience with Jake after a scary experience with a raccoon in the chimney ready to give birth. We needed it out ASAP because our dogs were going crazy and getting covered in soot. He is very knowledgeable and more flexible than other companies I tried to get ahold of. Glad we found him! read more

Jake at EnviroCritter helped us with our issue of squirrels in the attic. He did a thorough evaluation of our roof. Found a point of entry where the squirrels squeezed in. Because I did not want to relocate the squirrels or have them euthanized, Jake placed a trap that allowed the squirrels to exit, but not reenter the attic. I had him install a squirrel house on the side of my Cottonwood tree. He placed some bedding in it and peanut butter on the tree to attract the squirrels to their new home. To prevent the squirrels from being able to enter the attic again, he placed strong screen material around all vents that come out of our attic for $55 each. (plus some other addtional costs for the trap and service call, etc.) Unfortunately, we have 8 vents, so it was costly. But he guaranteed his work for a full year. So, if they do get back in, he will help us at no cost. I am most happy with Jake's understanding and kind attitude. He was respectful of the fact that I did not want the squirrels harmed or left without a place to nest. It was a lengthy process, but it was good to give the squirrels time to get situated and to make sure they were all out of the attic before sealing it up. I'm happy to say the squirrels are thriving in their new home and my dog and I enjoy watching them out of my office window every day. read more

Jake was great to work with. He came over and looked over our squirrel problem (in the attic), came back within in a couple days and took care of it. Jake came out to my house to check under my deck for some type of animal after my dog and my parent's dog had both been crawling under there and barking for a couple of weeks. Jake's response to my request form on his website was extremely fast and helpful. He was on time for his appointment and gave me advice on the problem. He was very friendly and trustworthy. His pricing seemed extremely fair and when I told him I needed to discuss with my husband (because of the extent of the animal proofing needed), he said that was fine and didn't charge me for his time. If we do end up needing animal removal or animal proofing services, I will definitely be calling Envirocritter. I would highly recommend this company! read more

Unreliable and lies. Did not come the days promised (several times). They spilled sardine oil all across my trex deck and ruined it. They promised to come out and take a look at it. Again Lies. The owner jake said they were not responsible if they damaged anything. They guaranteed the skunk problem was taken care of. I called to say that their efforts didn't work.. No one would return my calls. The workers bragged about being on a TV show....maybe it should be criminal intent. read more
