My husband & I discovered a mouse living in our home when the weather started to become cool last fall. We easily caught it using a humane trap and re-located it yet in a few days, another little mouse appeared in the house. Again, we humanely caught and re-located the new mouse, only to have this routine go on and ON. We thought we were very savvy, looking at every possible point of entry: stuffing copper wire meshing in all suspicious little holes surrounding our foundation & even put stucco in a few bigger openings. However, one at a time, mice kept sneaking into our home! We found Steve & his company Elite Animal Control on an internet search and reached out to him. Within one day, he came over, spent a great deal of time really inspecting & investigating all possible openings. He took his time (and expertise) to eliminate ALL imaginable entrances. However, another little mouse was seen and again we humanely caught/re-located it and then called Steve. THIS situation kept us on our toes for a few weeks...Steve came back a few times and with each visit he discovered a different opening until-NO MORE MICE!!! Steve is, first of all, a VERY thoughtful, intelligent, clever and caring man! We could tell he was SO experienced in the business of thinking like a mouse! AND! He NEVER advocated for harming the mice-yet he did share he has had some jobs which required many means of rodent removal. I also would recommend Steve of Elite Animal Control. I requested Steve come out to the house to remove a dead and de-composing Red Fox from under our deck. The smell INSIDE the house was becoming unbearable, especially in the basement and around the furnace. Steve came when he said he would, crawled under the deck with no room to spare, removed the fox, bagged it, and sanitized the spot where the fox died. He was very careful to make sure the babies were old enough to hop off, then introduced a mesh fence and one way doors to encourage the families to find a new den. I called several people when I saw (or thought?) I saw a snake in my unfinished basement. Steve was there quick and was so gracious. He checked the basement thoroughly and even spent time walking the perimeter of my house - where, (surprise!) he snagged a little garden snake! Popped it in a soft pillowcase and relocated the little gal to a nice, new home. He's not an exterminator but someone who will help you with unwanted critters so it's win-win for all involved. Steve at Elite is the REAL DEAL!! I grew up in lake country, in mid-Michigan, so I know more than a little about critters. Steve grew up in lake country in Minnesota, so we had a lot in common and we chatted extensively on many topics. He knows these critters better than they know themselves. He has lotions and potions and altruistic notions. Killing a critter is WAY down on his list of useable tactics. He'll do whatever he can do (and he can do a lot) to solve your problem without resorting to harm. In my case, since our neighborhood has a zillion squirrels, i figured a squirrel or two had found a way into my place and built a nest in my attic. I looked at online reviews and gave Elite a call. Steve' came out and got right to work. Within a few minutes, he pointed out that it probably wasn't a squirrel problem and he quickly identified it as a raccoon issue. His first stage maneuver was to lure the critter (and any possible baby critters) out of the house. He did some work in the attic and said he'd be back in a couple days; to call him if anything changed. The problem was absolutely resolved in that first visit, but he came back a couple days later and reinforced any spots where any critter could get into the attic. Steve was awesome! From the initial phone call to set up the appointment to the appointment itself. He was so friendly, kind, generous, thorough, knowledgeable, and very helpful. He was the only individual that called back immediately and worked with me on my availability. He came out on Sunday and took cared of my squirrel problem in the attic. He went and checked the attic to find possible entry ways and even checked the existing vents on the roof to make sure the fencing was in tact. Please note that this review is just for the phone call I had with Steve and not for any service completed. After taking off work and waiting two hours for another company to show up, I finally got a hold of them only to find out that my appt was never put in their books. They eventually got someone out to my house and while they did a good job of explaining things to me, the prices started to seem pretty exorbitant. I was charged $175 for an inspection fee, $190 for two repairs, and $95 for every time they have to pick up any trapped squirrels. It was also recommended that I spend $570 on attic vent repairs - that didn't really need repairs in the first place. I finally decided to call Elite and get their perspective and pricing. Turns out my gut was right and that the fees I was charged were outrageous! Steve provided a ton of information and will definitely be the person I call first next time I have an issue. As someone who almost 100% depends on Yelp for recommendations, I learned a costly lesson the first time I decided to not do my research. Obviously, I hope I don't have any more squirrel/rodent issues after this one is taken care of, but if I do, I will be contacting Elite to take care of it. read more

Just had Steve come out because we had a bird stuck in our fireplace for a few hours. He was super friendly from the get-go and quickly caught the bird and set it free outside. He offered to get on our roof to see what the situation was with our chimney cap and determined that there was no covering over the opening, so birds (and who knows what else!) could easily get in. He offered to add some hardware cloth over the opening to keep pests out, and we gladly accepted, because there's no way either of us are getting up near that chimney! :) Steve was prompt - returned my call within 10 minutes and then was to my house in another 15 minutes! When I was told that I have birds going in and out of my attic thru an opening near the vent pipes, I wanted to get this fixed asap!
