During the crazy 2 weeks of rain, my son's computer stopped working. Richard was still working helping businesses with their network failures through the storm. Always good to call ahead and he can work out time to meet if necessary. Reasonable pricing for both labor and parts. Easy to understand explanation. My son's laptop is an ASUS Vivobook 14, model number X1404V. He claims it isn't charging despite it being plugged into the laptop charger. He's tried at different outlets. We tried getting a replacement charging cord and that didn't work, so it's for sure something with the computer itself. We spoke to Yoda at Gadget Guyz about the issue and he let us know it will require bench work and gave a referral to Easy Computer. Dropped off on Tuesday for diagnosis. Results of diagnosis on Thursday. Richard confirmed that there was at least one bad component in the motherboard, so it would require a full motherboard replacement. A motherboard replacement would require dismantling the entire computer and replacing it and putting it completely back together. For a motherboard replacement they are not done in-house, they are sent out to New York. Parts alone would be nearly the cost of the computer brand new. Labor and to send out would double it. Picked up Friday. Richard gave a good recommendation on next steps. Consider if it was still covered under warranty, where I purchased it, what would be covered. He was very sweet to work with.

It was ideal that he provides on-site services. Stuart quoted me a total cost for hourly labor and travel time. We setup an appointment for the following afternoon. However, just so happened I ran into an acquaintance while I was out shopping who offered to help me with my computer predicament. I texted Stuart to cancel our appointment and explained why. Be real. Do not try to refuse someone service or return someone a laptop they thought you could repair for a nonsense reason that doesn't even apply in this situation. You couldn't fix a laptop? That's fine, but don't pull the BS you did with me and say it's due to my 'unpredictable behavior' that you're 'not comfortable' with holding my laptop you couldn't fix. I had a similar incident with TCA Wireless where I brought my phone in to be fixed due to a busted digitizer. They admitted to me that even after replacing the screen 5 times the phone still acted buggy. They were very apologetic that they couldn't fix it, and I understood and paid them for their attempts to try. That is the difference between them and you. You couldn't even look me in the eye when you handed my computer off to me. You didn't outright admit you couldn't fix it, and you didn't even apologize for your own unpredictable and ridiculous behavior. Because I wondered if you'd be able to pick up the charger from me that day? Did I demand you pick it up from me that day? All it was was just me thinking maybe you might be in the area and I could meet with you wherever was convenient to drop it off. I clearly specify that I didn't expect you to pick up from me that time, or even that day. And I apologize for the misunderstanding. But you, whether because of anxiety or just plain flakiness, decide to be so unprofessional that instead of just owning up to the fact you couldn't fix it, you want to try and blow this up to make it seem like I threatened you or made advances to you, or that I was being demanding. I was being nothing but lax and you decided that because my laptop was a lost cause you could act this way to me. On top of that, "unpredictable behavior"? You are dealing in a business full of unpredictable accidents and mishaps, and with technology, of all things.
