Enterprise UK claims they have "UK car hire with American customer service" at least according to "Brad and Dave". I cringe at what UK customer service must be then. I rented two cars from Enterprise UK (one from York) in July, in both cases booked months in advance and in both cases got emails an hour before saying "Sorry, we can't get the car you booked, you're going to have to wait". In the York case, we were told to wait and hour and half and then were upgraded to a fancier larger car (the only option) despite specifically asking for a smaller car. Enterprise corporate needs to work in this, if a particular class of car isn't going to be available, then don't list it as available in the online booking system. This Enterprise location in York is conveniently located in the train station, which was why we booked here, but surely that means customers arriving by train will be expecting to pick up their cars when they arrive at the time listed in their booking, not an hour or two later? read more
