I rent a vehicle a minimum of 2x per year, when I go on my 2K+ driving trips. I always us Enterprise because I have shopped around and even with my AARP and alumni discounts, Enterprise is still the best price and provides the same quality vehicles. In early June I went to MN fishing in a lovely Chevy Trailblazer. The vehicle was a pleasure the staff where very helpful, allowing me to chose the SUV that would suite me best and told me, "if I didn't like before I left bring it back we'll exchange it". The drop off was easy. Leave it Sunday night and throw the keys in the drop box. Above all else, the staff is exceeding kind. It's tough to find good customer service, but this facility has it nailed down. read more

Local staff was helpful but Enterprise overall are making the rental process more stressful, trying to secure a vehicle. For example, I had an emergency I had a need for a rental vehicle. They accepted my debit card, which was great as I didn't have enough of a balance on my credit card. However, when accepting paystubs as one of their qualifiers to use my debit card, they refused my VA & SSDI disability letters as proof of income. I don't work. My verified form of income is from the federal government, but that's not good enough for Enterprise, apparently. I had to jump thru hoops, when I was already stressed out, to provide other documentation that would satisfy them. Also, I've been renting from Enterprise over the course of MANY years & in the past, they would take a deposit. Not only have they upped their deposit amount, but now they also charge you the deposit AND cost of the rental upfront. It used to be, you pay a deposit, when you return the vehicle, they deduct the charge for the vehicle out of your deposit, or you pay the difference if it cost more, if you so choose. They put an almost $700 charge on my checking acct for 3 days of a rental & my rent check bounced because of it. So not very happy that I'm potentially facing an eviction notice because of that. There's other rental companies out there, I might be more inclined to use over the nonsense Enterprise puts you thru to rent now. It's honestly not worth the aggravation. *The 1* review is for Enterprise itself, it is in no reflection of the local staff, who were professional Enterprise has become such a scammy racket, I'm absolutely DISGUSTED by this company I used for YEARS. I recently received an email abt missed tolls from the rental I had. Now, I had my transponder in the vehicle w/me. Enterprise did NOT give me a proper way of displaying it, like in the past. I tried putting the transponder on the dashboard, but it kept sliding around, so I put it in the center console. My transponder picked up some tolls, others it didn't. Now, I have no problem paying for missed tolls. In fact, I went down to the toll authority in person in an attempt to have them charged to my transponder. I wasn't able to do that, because they had no outstanding tolls tied to that rental vehicle. Enterprise paid the tolls but then assessed me a $20 fine on top of less than $8 worth of missed tolls!! So I called Enterprise. Literally got bounced around back & forth being told I needed to call this #, to get THAT person on the line telling me I needed to call the FIRST # I called! Finally got somebody else, who told me that the State of Illinois assesses them a fine for missed tolls, which is absolute bull. If I miss a toll, I can go online & pay it & I'm not charged a fine. The woman I spoke with told me there were 5 tolls that were missed, that added up to $7.70. 5 tolls, that's it. She sent me (via email) a breakdown of the missed tolls. I'm in the process of disputing the "fine," which is a crock, as I said before that I wouldn't be charged a fine by the state for paying a missed toll, so why is Enterprise trying to feed me that bull? Especially since those tolls would've never been missed if they gave me a way to properly display my transponder in the first place. The kicker to all of this? I was told I had 5 missed tolls. FIVE. That's what came up on the history when the woman I was on the phone with pulled it up for that vehicle. So why did I get yet ANOTHER email yesterday abt MORE "missed tolls" & charging me yet ANOTHER $3 & some odd cents? I feel like I'm going to be in a neverending cycle of Enterprise stealing money out of my account for "missed tolls." You know what the kicker to all of this is? I'm a disabled veteran. I'm on a fixed income w/my disability compensation & Enterprise has no qualms abt thieving from a disabled veteran. Let that sink in before you think abt renting from this company. They lost me as a customer & I used them for DECADES. I am doing more back & forth disputing these charges. Tolls that are 75¢, Enterprise is charging me $1.50 & $1.60 for those same tolls. I sent them proof of the tolls my transponder actually picked up. They're running me in circles w/excuses. At this point, I'm abt to file a complaint w/the Better Business Bureau. This is no way to run a business. Enterprise NEVER used to be this way, I don't know what changed, but I am sharing this experience w/EVERYONE, especially fellow veterans. I'm appalled that this company willingly scams veterans, or anybody for that matter, but scamming a disabled veteran is exceptionally abhorrent. Never using Enterprise again. They are NOT the only rental company out there, they need to remember that. And to recap, this review is no way a reflection on local staff, it's Enterprise itself. read more

first off every single person at this place deserves a raise. They all were working so hard yet none of them showed any signs of stress. They were still extremely kind and considerate. They helped me out so much they helped save me money. They were just simply simply amazing. times that I was there it was almost closing time, and there were so many people still there waiting. People are coming in at the last minute yet the guys still kept all their composure and were very very kind. I truly hope that they are compensated well because they work very hard their kindness so much. read more

Never had an issue picking up or dropping off a car. The staff has always been friendly. The parking can be a hassle since its so small. Be careful getting off on Ogden or Cass, traffic isn't fun and the drivers can be dumb. read more

I just wanted to personally give Eric, Sara and Sam a strong recommendation for any future advancements within the company here at Enterprise. They are the utmost professional when it comes to renting a car and they make the process extremely smooth and seamless. The cars they have are always clean and they do a great job of communicating what to expect prior to picking up the car, and leave you with no surprises. This branch and the East Ogden Naperville branch are my two favorite locations to rent from, and I will gladly continue using them for any rentals needed. read more

DO NOT RENT HERE. This Downers Grove Enterprise is run by people who are dishonest and disrespectful. After leaving an iPad in a car, it "disappeared," after checking the car in and the staff was zero help. Manager Eric was the worst part of the experience. He said he was escalating the issue to corporate and then when I called days later to let him know I had heard nothing, he said they had more important things to prioritize that to look into my missing property. Dealing with them was a total loss. Never again. Absolutely pathetic staff and service. read more

I always rent from Enterprise. Usually they are great, but I need a car on Sunday and they are closed? People do not drive on Sunday? This is not only impractical, but plain stupid. This is not a way to do business. This is not a one horse town; this is metropolitan Chicago. read more

I booked online to rent a car for a work trip. I got there on a Saturday morning right when they opened and there were already 5 people ahead of me. However, they had 2 employees working quickly to get people out of the door. They had 2 cars in my requested class available, so I went with the Toyota Corolla. It was an ok car. They sent me an email copy of the rental agreement right away. Return was also a breeze. I did get hit with a slight charge of not having my gas right where it started. After a full day of driving I just paid the fee. Honestly the worst part of this location is their parking lot. It is super cramped and you feel like you may hit something. Staff are friendly. read more

One of the workers was being standoff-ish when I asked about a reservation I made today and repeatedly asked "Is there a problem, sir?" I said "Not at all." Then then proceeded to call someone else to take my reservation and then literally said they were "Uncomfortable with customer interaction, especially from young adult males." and then proceeded to help with a reservation from an elderly man who walked into the establishment. Not only do I feel discriminated against, but very unprofessional of them to ignore me and serve other customers. I spent nearly a half hour before someone came out and helped me while the worker and another worker sat at their desk and blasted music while ignoring me. In all my years of using Enterprise, I have never been more disappointed in their "customer service". The fact that the other workers in the building allowed this to happen is a insult to the concept of customer service. read more

There is so much miscommunicationi. I booked online and there was no option for needing transport from my drop location to the car rental place. Received a confirmation call and explained this to the rep I spoke to. I even asked if I needed to call the morning of to confirm and he assured me that I did not need to call. He said that he set it up and was in place but when I got to Enterprise the manager said there was no record of that. This is the second time I've rented from them in 6 months and this has happened both times. The car was decent and I received a free upgrade. Returning the vehicle was a different story. I arrived at the counter and stood at the counter waiting for some acknowledgement. At least four people came to the desk and not one person asked if I was being helped or anything. There were numerous people in the lobby waiting, however, someone could have said someone will be with you shortly...anything. after standing there for about ten minutes I left to get my car because the Collison place was closing in like twenty minutes. Drove the car back to the rental place where I was finally helped. I asked for a printed invoice and an email of the invoice, the latter I never received. Then I walked back the 8 blocks to my car. If I can avoid renting here again, I most likely will. read more

Enterprise Rent-A-Car - Car Rental Near Me - Westmont, Illinois

I rented from this Westmont location because it is close to my house and the price was competitive. When I arrived at the store, the local Westmont manager greeted me and helped me with any question I had regarding the rental. I had one concern during the process and the manager from Westmont immediately made it right. The manager is a true professional, has great demeanor, and provided outstanding customer service. I went to Enterprise Westmont for the competitive price. I will rent from them, specifically the Westmont location, in the future because of the outstanding customer service my family received. I will recommend this specific branch to friends and family because of the professionalism of the Westmont branch manager. read more

I received an Audi suv, that I totally enjoyed. I thank Enterprise in Westmont Illinois

"I WILL MAKE SURE YOU WILL NEVER RENT A CAR AT ENTERPRISE AGAIN" Brian is yelling!!! I must be dreaming, I'm thinking. Here I am, a man in his 40s and a 20 years old boy hungs up the phone on me and when I call back is yelling "I WILL MAKE SURE YOU WILL NEVER RENT A CAR AT ENTERPRISE AGAIN"! WOW!!! What a disrespectful prick... Enterprise Rental rates are competitive but there are other rental companies. And they will actually treat you with respect and accommodate your needs. So my deer Yelpers, if you have to use Enterprise rental located on 540 N Cass Ave in Westmont, you probably want to avoid Brian. Believe me, your whole day will carry on on much positive note. PS: Brian, if you are reading this, perhaps its worth of consideration to find different line of work, something like re-stocking shelves in local grocery store where people skills are not required. read more

I am debating between 3 and 2 because the car itself was great and probably one of the best rentals I have gotten. However, the customer service practices are very deceptive and I can't give any better just for that. I got the rental car through my car dealership as a loaner as my car was in the shop. Therefore the car dealer was paying for the rental (excluding liability). When I showed up they asked for my credit card for incidentals and told me I was only responsible for insurance. I declined all additional insurance as mine would cover it and I clearly stated this at the counter. Once the car was ready, the agent walked me to the car and did a walk through. At that point he told me the car had a quarter tank of gas. I have never gotten a rental that comes with anything less than full so I asked why. He claimed that that's what they do and any gas charges I have, I should take up with the car dealer providing the loaner. I really didn't have time to argue as I was running late and decided to deal with it with later the dealer. Now at this point he asked me to sign the rental agreement on the ipad and asked again if I wanted minimum liability. I declined again and he had me sign a page that showed $0 added coverage. Later in the day the dealer told me that the car would need to stay in the shop an extra day so I could keep the loaner for additional time. It was at this point I discovered the shady practices these guys tried to pull. I went to check the rental agreement they had emailed to see what time I needed to return the car in case it needed an extension. To my surprise I found $35 per day in insurance charges on a completely different section they never showed me. Also, when I asked the dealer about the charges for gas, he was totally surprised as he said they expect their clients to get a car with a full tank of gas as the dealer returns the car to enterprise with a full tank when the car is returned. So essentially 2 issues 1- They sneaked in a bunch of add-on charges without disclosing them. 2 - They were basically tricking the car dealer in to returning the car with a full tank while giving their clients a quarter tank out the door thus saving gas costs for themselves. I'm guessing this is pretty lucrative for them as the dealer is right across the street and uses Enterprise for loaners frequently. When I was at the dealer to return the loaner and pick up my car, I heard another customer complain about the exact same thing. So clearly I am not the exception. For #1 after my complaining they took the charges off the card, but still does not excuse the behavior in the first place. If you are renting from here insist on a print out vs an email of the contract and read everything before you drive off the lot! read more

I can't believe that I am actually leaving a 5 star review of a car rental place. Generally, it is difficult to be happy with car rental companies. They often have shady rules, unfriendly employees who push desperately to sell overpriced add-ons or try to nickel and dime you for everything, or crappy cars that give you a bad experience. However, this place is different. We started with a one day rental with a Beetle. Not the car I would want to drive but whatever. It was quite powerful which was nice. Anyway, they picked me up on time and although I had to wait about 10 mins while the car was getting cleaned, the counter agent was friendly. I extended the rental for two more days. It was a breeze to do so....just a quick phone call and they assured me that everything was ok. On the day of the return, I was late by 3 hours. I called them beforehand to say that I would not mind paying extra for the hours. When I got there, to my surprise they didn't charge me a single penny extra! Amazing! Also, I missed a few tolls around Chicagoland. Enterprise charges you the exact amount of the toll on your card later. This is so unlike Alamo who charged a $15 processing fee once for a $1.50 missed toll....arghhh! Highly recommended. read more

These people are shady scam artist. I dont even want to give them one star but yelp says I have to...They charged me for bogus insurance I specifically said I didn't want. My insurance covers rentals! Why would I agree to their bogus insurance that isn't even real insurance. They refuse to give me a refund saying it was on my contract. I was sent here while my car was getting fixed for a recall. Everything was to be charged to the dealership since they are contracted with them. I wouldn't be surprised if they are double charging! They got unauthorized charge happy with my credit card, kept my deposit and I even refilled the tank. Spoke to Dan twice who said I will get a refund. Then called back weeks later and spoke to Brian who basically said they screwed me on a bogus damage waiver. This isn't the end Enterprise, I will continue to fight for my refund! read more

Horrible on all accounts. They did not arrive for the pick up, initially tried to provide a small compact car which was filthy, our reservation was for a full size. They then offered us a pick up truck and decided to drive us to a dealer ship where they had one of their full size cars. That car was not only dirty, but also smelled of smoke as it was a smokers car. I am a frequent traveler and this was my first experience with Enterprise. I encourage anyone considering Enterprise to go with anyone else that may have a car. read more

I've used Enterprise a couple of times in the last 6 months at this branch. Each time I feel like I have gotten a good deal and have been treated well. Their office is conveniently located near Cass and Ogden. It isn't much to look at on the inside, but they really seem to care about providing good service. My pickups and dropoffs have been very efficient, which is important to me as I have little patience for waiting in line. The cars I've been loaned have been clean and well-maintained. Great and quick experience and the cherry on top was their honesty. I forgot that I left my backpack in the trunk of the SUV that I rented so I forgot to take it with me when I was cleaning out the car. I dropped the car off a few hours before closing and realized I left my bag in the car after they had already closed. First thing in the morning I called and they confirmed that they had my bag. My backpack had a very expensive drone in it and was thrilled to discover that they had it in their office. I stopped by in the evening to see if the car was still in the lot with the hopes of peeking in to confirm I had indeed left it but the suv was already gone and rented so I was freaking out. Anyways I'm impressed with their honesty. Only complaint is that their phones appear to give you the option to leave a message but when you select the option it tells you that you've made an invalid selection. I would have felt better being able to leave a message but I called first thing so I eventually made contact anyway. read more

The service at this location doesn't get any better. They made a highly stressful situation (I was involved in a car accident) easy to manage and pain-free. I didn't have a car, so they came and picked me up from the front of my building. They are always swamped, but they manage to give you individual attention all the way around. When I got there, Brian assigned me a brand new vehicle. Brian still took the time to make sure I was happy with the space that was in the vehicle. I also watched him help another customer take very heavy hockey bags out of the car and place them in the desired SUV she chose. Talk about awesome! I booked online and the price per week was $120, which beat the competition. I liked how they did business and I would call on them again. This is the reason I stay with enterprise. read more

I travel a lot, and have rented cars from all the rental companies. Enterprise is, by far, the best, and I've been their steady customer for over 15 years now. Rented a vehicle and they put the wrong license plate on the contract. I have received over $50 in toll charges for a car I didn't have. I called to discuss and they said to stop in. I drove the 45 mins to stop in and talk about it and they said they would look into it and get back to me. After a few days I followed up for them to tell me to call citations dept. I called citations and then they told me to fill out a form and upload proof. I was out of the country on business during most of the rental period where the car was sitting in my garage. I got a response from citations and they said my flight information wasn't proof enough even though I was clearly not in the area when tolls were being taken. I proceeded to show the map that tolls were taken near Schaumburg and I live the complete opposite direction 45 mins from the rental location. The mileage doesn't even add up. I was not cited for the tolls taken out on the road I would take to get the car but that doesn't seem to matter. It doesn't matter what you provide it won't be proof enough. The Citations dept (who is in Oklahoma somewhere I might add so doesn't know the area) said they would contact the branch manager and get back to me. I waited 2 weeks and followed up and they were unable to talk to the manager. They said they would try again and then said they still can't reach them. This has been going on for 6 weeks. It's absolutely ridiculous to go through all the steps and hoops they have asked, given proof the tolls weren't mine for them to tell me it's not proof enough and then they can't reach the manager after multiple attempts?? How convenient they can't get a hold of them. Everything is bait and switch here. Everything from the contract being wrong, won't return calls, continuous hoops to go through to go no where. They will take you for what ever they can and give you the run around. Not to mention nobody I have talked to has been very friendly along the way. read more

This was my first time using this Enterprise rent-a-car location and my experience was a smooth breeze...no hassle at all. I had anxiety about the entire process but working with Jess(lady) made it a breeze! I went made a reservation at 11am and was able to pick up my rental by 2pm that same day! I went in with paperwork from my Ford dealer regarding a recall on my car. They took the paperwork, called the dealer for the PO and charged my debit card only a $50 deposit. I am a very indecisive person and Jess was very patient with me switching my selection 3x in the short 45mins I was there lol! Just an absolute awful, awful experience. About a month ago I got into an accident. The other driver was at fault, so his insurance assumed liability. They were paying for the repairs and for my rental. I went in to the Westmont Enterprise to pick up my rental. The morning I went in I worked with Dan, I signed some papers and gave my debit card as a safety deposit only and my personal insurance info. Wasn't told I'll be responsible for any charges or anything else. Was just given the keys and left. Was there 5 minutes tops. Everything was good. Probably 2 weeks later the radio went out. Not a big deal right? I went in there and told Aaron (apparently the manager) that the radio wasn't working. His first response was "did you try changing a fuse?". Sorry but I don't believe it should be the customers responsibility to attempt to fix Enterprise's vehicles. I told him no. He told me, with a arrogant tone, that he assumed that because I worked in Parts and Service for an auto dealership that I would know how to do that. I told him that was irrelevant. IT WASN'T MY CAR TO FIX. We went out to the car and took the fuse panel cover off. He said he was looking for missing fuses because sometimes customers will pull fuses to try and get an upgrade. Insinuating that I had done that. I told him that I didn't do that. He finally concluded he couldn't do anything to fix the radio there. He told me he didn't have a car to swap me into but if I wanted I could take the car to Nissan to get it fixed since the car was still under warranty. AGAIN, NOT MY RESPONSIBILITY!!! I decided that since my car should be fixed about a week after that I'd be fine without a radio. When my car was done, I brought the rental back. Everything was fine for a week and a half. Woke up one morning to find my checking account overdrawn because Enterprise had charged it $287.50. I called and spoke to Aaron again to ask why my account was charged that. He explained that the other driver's insurance paid the $21 a day for the rental but not the $13 a day for collision insurance, and that my insurance wouldn't cover it either. So they charged me for it. I wasn't given a call or anything. Aaron said he called and left me a voicemail, but of course I didn't receive it. I was NEVER once told there could be a chance that I would be held liable for any type of charges. If that was the case I would have gave the rental back and figured out another method of transportation for myself. Aaron told me I could try to call Allstate (the other driver's insurance) and argue with them for the money. He told me that since the case file was closed there wasn't really any way for them to do anything. Which is ridiculous. They took the money, if they really wanted to they could refund it. He told me he would have his boss call me. I never received that call. Aaron was very arrogant and condescending every time I dealt with him. I'm now out almost $300 and trying to figure out money till I get paid next. Between that incident and there lack of caring that the car's radio didn't work I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND looking elsewhere if you need a rental. I work in customer service everyday and I would never treat a customer the way Aaron and the Westmont branch of Enterprise did me. read more

I stopped in to rent a car on a Saturday morning. I have no idea what was going on but it was a busy day for them I believe they had 4 people renting cars and one or two washing and cleaning the cars. The store manager helped us out. we had to wait maybe 10-15 minutes. something that to me was not a huge deal considering the number of people that were there that day. He continued to apologize for it taking so long. Again 10-15 minutes to me is not long especially considering how quick each employee was working to get the people in and out of there with a car. The car I rented was a Nissan Sentry. Great car, but I am sure a lot of national rental companies have the same type of cars. What sets Enterprise and in particular this branch apart is their customer service. I WILL RENT FROM THIS LOCATION AGAIN IF THE NEED ARISES. Highly recommend this location for a car rental. Very friendly, courteous and professional each and every person that I encountered that day.
