After leaving an iPad in a car, it "disappeared," after checking the car in and the staff was zero help. Manager Eric was the worst part of the experience. He said he was escalating the issue to corporate and then when I called days later to let him know I had heard nothing, he said they had more important things to prioritize that to look into my missing property. I booked online to rent a car for a work trip. I got there on a Saturday morning right when they opened and there were already 5 people ahead of me. However, they had 2 employees working quickly to get people out of the door. They had 2 cars in my requested class available, so I went with the Toyota Corolla. It was an ok car. They sent me an email copy of the rental agreement right away. Return was also a breeze. I did get hit with a slight charge of not having my gas right where it started. After a full day of driving I just paid the fee. Honestly the worst part of this location is their parking lot. It is super cramped and you feel like you may hit something. One of the workers was being standoff-ish when I asked about a reservation I made today and repeatedly asked "Is there a problem, sir?" I said "Not at all." Then then proceeded to call someone else to take my reservation and then literally said they were "Uncomfortable with customer interaction, especially from young adult males." and then proceeded to help with a reservation from an elderly man who walked into the establishment. Not only do I feel discriminated against, but very unprofessional of them to ignore me and serve other customers. I spent nearly a half hour before someone came out and helped me while the worker and another worker sat at their desk and blasted music while ignoring me. In all my years of using Enterprise, I have never been more disappointed in their "customer service". There is so much miscommunicationi. I booked online and there was no option for needing transport from my drop location to the car rental place. Received a confirmation call and explained this to the rep I spoke to. I even asked if I needed to call the morning of to confirm and he assured me that I did not need to call. He said that he set it up and was in place but when I got to Enterprise the manager said there was no record of that. This is the second time I've rented from them in 6 months and this has happened both times. The car was decent and I received a free upgrade. Returning the vehicle was a different story. I arrived at the counter and stood at the counter waiting for some acknowledgement. At least four people came to the desk and not one person asked if I was being helped or anything. There were numerous people in the lobby waiting, however, someone could have said someone will be with you shortly...anything. after standing there for about ten minutes I left to get my car because the Collison place was closing in like twenty minutes. Drove the car back to the rental place where I was finally helped. I asked for a printed invoice and an email of the invoice, the latter I never received. Then I walked back the 8 blocks to my car. If I can avoid renting here again, I most likely will. read more

I could go to either this facility or the one in DG. They are the same distance from my house, but the customer service I receive at the Westmont facility is a world away form the DG location. I have always received amazing customer service, even when I flushed my rental car keys down a rest stop toilet. Yes, they were GONE, but that's another story. If I had to I would walk to the Westmont location, but wait, they'll even pick me up. read more

I rented from this Westmont location because it is close to my house and the price was competitive. When I arrived at the store, the local Westmont manager greeted me and helped me with any question I had regarding the rental. I had one concern during the process and the manager from Westmont immediately made it right. The manager is a true professional, has great demeanor, and provided outstanding customer service. I went to Enterprise Westmont for the competitive price. I will rent from them, specifically the Westmont location, in the future because of the outstanding customer service my family received. I am debating between 3 and 2 because the car itself was great and probably one of the best rentals I have gotten. However, the customer service practices are very deceptive and I can't give any better just for that. I got the rental car through my car dealership as a loaner as my car was in the shop. Therefore the car dealer was paying for the rental (excluding liability). When I showed up they asked for my credit card for incidentals and told me I was only responsible for insurance. I declined all additional insurance as mine would cover it and I clearly stated this at the counter. Once the car was ready, the agent walked me to the car and did a walk through. At that point he told me the car had a quarter tank of gas. I have never gotten a rental that comes with anything less than full so I asked why. He claimed that that's what they do and any gas charges I have, I should take up with the car dealer providing the loaner. I really didn't have time to argue as I was running late and decided to deal with it with later the dealer. Now at this point he asked me to sign the rental agreement on the ipad and asked again if I wanted minimum liability. I declined again and he had me sign a page that showed $0 added coverage. Later in the day the dealer told me that the car would need to stay in the shop an extra day so I could keep the loaner for additional time. It was at this point I discovered the shady practices these guys tried to pull. I went to check the rental agreement they had emailed to see what time I needed to return the car in case it needed an extension. To my surprise I found $35 per day in insurance charges on a completely different section they never showed me. Also, when I asked the dealer about the charges for gas, he was totally surprised as he said they expect their clients to get a car with a full tank of gas as the dealer returns the car to enterprise with a full tank when the car is returned. So essentially 2 issues 1- They sneaked in a bunch of add-on charges without disclosing them. 2 - They were basically tricking the car dealer in to returning the car with a full tank while giving their clients a quarter tank out the door thus saving gas costs for themselves. I'm guessing this is pretty lucrative for them as the dealer is right across the street and uses Enterprise for loaners frequently. When I was at the dealer to return the loaner and pick up my car, I heard another customer complain about the exact same thing. So clearly I am not the exception. For #1 after my complaining they took the charges off the card, but still does not excuse the behavior in the first place. If you are renting from here insist on a print out vs an email of the contract and read everything before you drive off the lot! read more

What a disrespectful prick... Enterprise Rental rates are competitive but there are other rental companies. And they will actually treat you with respect and accommodate your needs. So my deer Yelpers, if you have to use Enterprise rental located on 540 N Cass Ave in Westmont, you probably want to avoid Brian. Believe me, your whole day will carry on on much positive note. I can't believe that I am actually leaving a 5 star review of a car rental place. Generally, it is difficult to be happy with car rental companies. They often have shady rules, unfriendly employees who push desperately to sell overpriced add-ons or try to nickel and dime you for everything, or crappy cars that give you a bad experience. However, this place is different. We started with a one day rental with a Beetle. Not the car I would want to drive but whatever. It was quite powerful which was nice. Anyway, they picked me up on time and although I had to wait about 10 mins while the car was getting cleaned, the counter agent was friendly. I extended the rental for two more days. It was a breeze to do so....just a quick phone call and they assured me that everything was ok. On the day of the return, I was late by 3 hours. I called them beforehand to say that I would not mind paying extra for the hours. When I got there, to my surprise they didn't charge me a single penny extra! Amazing! Also, I missed a few tolls around Chicagoland. Enterprise charges you the exact amount of the toll on your card later. This is so unlike Alamo who charged a $15 processing fee once for a $1.50 missed toll....arghhh! Highly recommended. read more

Horrible on all accounts. They did not arrive for the pick up, initially tried to provide a small compact car which was filthy, our reservation was for a full size. They then offered us a pick up truck and decided to drive us to a dealer ship where they had one of their full size cars. That car was not only dirty, but also smelled of smoke as it was a smokers car. I am a frequent traveler and this was my first experience with Enterprise. I encourage anyone considering Enterprise to go with anyone else that may have a car. read more

These people are shady scam artist. I dont even want to give them one star but yelp says I have to...They charged me for bogus insurance I specifically said I didn't want. My insurance covers rentals! Why would I agree to their bogus insurance that isn't even real insurance. They refuse to give me a refund saying it was on my contract. I was sent here while my car was getting fixed for a recall. Everything was to be charged to the dealership since they are contracted with them. I wouldn't be surprised if they are double charging! They got unauthorized charge happy with my credit card, kept my deposit and I even refilled the tank. Spoke to Dan twice who said I will get a refund. Then called back weeks later and spoke to Brian who basically said they screwed me on a bogus damage waiver. This isn't the end Enterprise, I will continue to fight for my refund! read more

I've used Enterprise a couple of times in the last 6 months at this branch. Each time I feel like I have gotten a good deal and have been treated well. Their office is conveniently located near Cass and Ogden. It isn't much to look at on the inside, but they really seem to care about providing good service. My pickups and dropoffs have been very efficient, which is important to me as I have little patience for waiting in line. The cars I've been loaned have been clean and well-maintained. Great and quick experience and the cherry on top was their honesty. I forgot that I left my backpack in the trunk of the SUV that I rented so I forgot to take it with me when I was cleaning out the car. I dropped the car off a few hours before closing and realized I left my bag in the car after they had already closed. First thing in the morning I called and they confirmed that they had my bag. My backpack had a very expensive drone in it and was thrilled to discover that they had it in their office. I stopped by in the evening to see if the car was still in the lot with the hopes of peeking in to confirm I had indeed left it but the suv was already gone and rented so I was freaking out. Anyways I'm impressed with their honesty. Only complaint is that their phones appear to give you the option to leave a message but when you select the option it tells you that you've made an invalid selection. I would have felt better being able to leave a message but I called first thing so I eventually made contact anyway. read more

I travel a lot, and have rented cars from all the rental companies. Enterprise is, by far, the best, and I've been their steady customer for over 15 years now. The present crew at the 540 N Cass store, I think, deserves special praise. I find Ryan and Tyler to be two of the finest young men I've met in any business. I don't know how two guys like that ended up at the same place at the same time, but I'm grateful for it. I sincerely hope they get rewarded in the corporate world. Rented a vehicle and they put the wrong license plate on the contract. I have received over $50 in toll charges for a car I didn't have. I called to discuss and they said to stop in. I drove the 45 mins to stop in and talk about it and they said they would look into it and get back to me. After a few days I followed up for them to tell me to call citations dept. I called citations and then they told me to fill out a form and upload proof. I was out of the country on business during most of the rental period where the car was sitting in my garage. I got a response from citations and they said my flight information wasn't proof enough even though I was clearly not in the area when tolls were being taken. I proceeded to show the map that tolls were taken near Schaumburg and I live the complete opposite direction 45 mins from the rental location. The mileage doesn't even add up. I was not cited for the tolls taken out on the road I would take to get the car but that doesn't seem to matter. It doesn't matter what you provide it won't be proof enough. The Citations dept (who is in Oklahoma somewhere I might add so doesn't know the area) said they would contact the branch manager and get back to me. I waited 2 weeks and followed up and they were unable to talk to the manager. They said they would try again and then said they still can't reach them. This has been going on for 6 weeks. It's absolutely ridiculous to go through all the steps and hoops they have asked, given proof the tolls weren't mine for them to tell me it's not proof enough and then they can't reach the manager after multiple attempts?? How convenient they can't get a hold of them. Everything is bait and switch here. Everything from the contract being wrong, won't return calls, continuous hoops to go through to go no where. They will take you for what ever they can and give you the run around. Not to mention nobody I have talked to has been very friendly along the way. read more

The service at this location doesn't get any better. They made a highly stressful situation (I was involved in a car accident) easy to manage and pain-free. I didn't have a car, so they came and picked me up from the front of my building. They are always swamped, but they manage to give you individual attention all the way around. When I got there, Brian assigned me a brand new vehicle. Brian still took the time to make sure I was happy with the space that was in the vehicle. I also watched him help another customer take very heavy hockey bags out of the car and place them in the desired SUV she chose. Talk about awesome! This was my first time using this Enterprise rent-a-car location and my experience was a smooth breeze...no hassle at all. I had anxiety about the entire process but working with Jess(lady) made it a breeze! I went made a reservation at 11am and was able to pick up my rental by 2pm that same day! I went in with paperwork from my Ford dealer regarding a recall on my car. They took the paperwork, called the dealer for the PO and charged my debit card only a $50 deposit. I am a very indecisive person and Jess was very patient with me switching my selection 3x in the short 45mins I was there lol! I stopped in to rent a car on a Saturday morning. I have no idea what was going on but it was a busy day for them I believe they had 4 people renting cars and one or two washing and cleaning the cars. The store manager helped us out. we had to wait maybe 10-15 minutes. something that to me was not a huge deal considering the number of people that were there that day. He continued to apologize for it taking so long. Again 10-15 minutes to me is not long especially considering how quick each employee was working to get the people in and out of there with a car. The car I rented was a Nissan Sentry. Great car, but I am sure a lot of national rental companies have the same type of cars. What sets Enterprise and in particular this branch apart is their customer service. I WILL RENT FROM THIS LOCATION AGAIN IF THE NEED ARISES. Highly recommend this location for a car rental. Very friendly, courteous and professional each and every person that I encountered that day. Just an absolute awful, awful experience. About a month ago I got into an accident. The other driver was at fault, so his insurance assumed liability. They were paying for the repairs and for my rental. I went in to the Westmont Enterprise to pick up my rental. The morning I went in I worked with Dan, I signed some papers and gave my debit card as a safety deposit only and my personal insurance info. Wasn't told I'll be responsible for any charges or anything else. Was just given the keys and left. Was there 5 minutes tops. Everything was good. Probably 2 weeks later the radio went out. Not a big deal right? I went in there and told Aaron (apparently the manager) that the radio wasn't working. His first response was "did you try changing a fuse?". Sorry but I don't believe it should be the customers responsibility to attempt to fix Enterprise's vehicles. I told him no. He told me, with a arrogant tone, that he assumed that because I worked in Parts and Service for an auto dealership that I would know how to do that. I told him that was irrelevant. IT WASN'T MY CAR TO FIX. We went out to the car and took the fuse panel cover off. He said he was looking for missing fuses because sometimes customers will pull fuses to try and get an upgrade. Insinuating that I had done that. I told him that I didn't do that. He finally concluded he couldn't do anything to fix the radio there. He told me he didn't have a car to swap me into but if I wanted I could take the car to Nissan to get it fixed since the car was still under warranty. AGAIN, NOT MY RESPONSIBILITY!!! I decided that since my car should be fixed about a week after that I'd be fine without a radio. When my car was done, I brought the rental back. Everything was fine for a week and a half. Woke up one morning to find my checking account overdrawn because Enterprise had charged it $287.50. I called and spoke to Aaron again to ask why my account was charged that. He explained that the other driver's insurance paid the $21 a day for the rental but not the $13 a day for collision insurance, and that my insurance wouldn't cover it either. So they charged me for it. I wasn't given a call or anything. Aaron said he called and left me a voicemail, but of course I didn't receive it. I was NEVER once told there could be a chance that I would be held liable for any type of charges. If that was the case I would have gave the rental back and figured out another method of transportation for myself. Aaron told me I could try to call Allstate (the other driver's insurance) and argue with them for the money. He told me that since the case file was closed there wasn't really any way for them to do anything. Which is ridiculous. They took the money, if they really wanted to they could refund it. He told me he would have his boss call me. I never received that call. Aaron was very arrogant and condescending every time I dealt with him. I'm now out almost $300 and trying to figure out money till I get paid next. Between that incident and there lack of caring that the car's radio didn't work I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND looking elsewhere if you need a rental. I work in customer service everyday and I would never treat a customer the way Aaron and the Westmont branch of Enterprise did me. read more
