This was a great car, and it was good when I drove it for work. My only problem is the car's pedals are made for people of average height so it did cause me some discomfort to drive. That sounds odd but, the pedals are slightly elevated so when I drove, I had to keep my leg up and I couldn't keep it on the floor and use them at the same time. That's the problem being four foot eleven. Good car otherwise. And I was able to leave the car with the WAB while I got my car back. read more

JULIO is the MAN! My family and I were on a road trip up the California coast. We are originally from southern California. We rented a Chrysler Pacifica and drove the vehicle for several days up and down the coast when we ran into some tire issues coming back from Mendocino County. Our front passenger tire for some reason lost half the air pressure. Luckily we googled an Enterprise location about a mile from us and drove there. We met with Julio who was handling and taking care of multiple customers and issues all at the same time. Even with that, he didn't blow us off or treat us like our issue wasn't a big deal. He advised us to go to a locally contracted tire station nearby and see if they will fix the issue for us. We did just that but unfortunately, they told us that the tire tread was shredding and that the tire had to be replaced. We contacted Julio over the phone and he told us that he could get us into another mini-van possibly within the next hour. This man is a blessing. If not for Julio, we would have forfeited the next portion of our trip and missed out on quality family time. We ubered back to Enterprise and lo-and-behold, Julio had another mini-van ready for us. He was still dealing with multiple customers who were pouring in and he took care of everyone. He even comped our uber ride and credited our account. Julio was efficient, an excellent multi-tasker, compassionate, and empathetic towards the people that he helps. THANK YOU JULIO! We need more people like you in the world. We had rented three vans to take our volleyball team to Nationals. We received a call two days before the rental stating that the vans were unavailable because they were returned damaged. We had to scramble to find vans last minute and finally found some over the hill. The delays in getting to and from San Jose mean our teams won't make the opening of Nationals and is a huge disappointment for these kids. Being familiar with the rental car business, I can't say whether the information about the damaged vans is true or if the vans were just double booked. No alternatives were offered aside from assuring us that they were trying to find seven or eight passenger vans. In addition, the reservation was for tomorrow and we never received a follow-up call about whether any smaller vehicles were available. I would absolutely never recommend this business. read more

Nice vehicle inventory, convenient location, easy and fast pickup/drop off and customer service the way it's supposed to be. I've rented autos and vans from there a few times in the past year and have been impressed each time. All customers are greeted warmly upon arriving and every effort is made to have pickup and return go smoothly and quickly. I'm surprised by the negative reviews but also see that many of them are from 2018 or older. Apparently, Ben runs the facility better than previous managers. He seems to be a hands-on manager committed to outstanding service. Well, I had to go back to these guys because that is who my insurance company sent me to. Guess what? I was SO disappointed that they were just as bad the second time, as the first time they had me as a customer. I could not believe just how BADLY they MISLEAD the customer into believing that they will do what they say and work with the ins. company to have the added insurance to protect the rented car and the rental cost set to equal the cost of what my insurance covers so that I will be covered completely. (It doesn't help that their forms are not easy to figure out!). SO, when I took the car back today, they claimed that they never agreed to have my insurance and rental covered together and have both covered by my car insurance coverage for a rental!!! THEN, they claimed that there was a scratch on the door of the car. (GRRRR!) I couldn't argue, because I rented it and got it when it was raining and didn't see any such scratch. So, AFTER they so friendly convinced me not to worry about any monies due when I returned the car when I rented it, when I returned it they charged me $620.00 for THEIR insurance that they SWORE that they NEVER told me that my insurance would cover. This rental experience has been UNBELIEVABLY BAD. The salesmen was very misleading, he gave my husband two price options for insurance, never telling him that the insurance was OPTIONAL. My husband choose the less expensive one. The next day I called to inquire about this mandatory insurance, and received the same greasy salesmen spiel, also not telling me that it was OPTIONAL. When I called him on this he repeated the same thing, and when I pressed him only then did he admit, quite reluctantly, that yes it was optional. He then agreed to remove the insurance and "only charge me for one day" which I found unacceptable. A bit of haggling and this was removed. Now upon returning the vehicle I find that our deposit cannot be returned because the paperwork is not there and is possibly with the other salesmen! WTH!? They had no problem charging us immediately, and now they feel they can dilly dally on returning the money. Let's not get into the shoddy inspection prior to us taking the car. Only in hindsight, after a through inspection by another worker, do I see just how little the first guy looked at the car. Terrible, terrible, terrible. I will never return to this location. Ever. I went through the proper channels to make a reservation before arriving. I reserved the intermediate size car. Good value. I didn't need anything fancy. I read (skimmed) through the terms of service online looking specifically for different requirements if using a debit card to rent a car. It's typically just ID and debit card plus an additional deposit/hold on the card. Fine by me. I didn't see any additional information, so I went forward with my reservations. I've rented plenty of cars before -- though to be fair, I usually reserve through Hertz, and will return exclusively to anything other than Enterprise after this. -- and this has always been the case...ID + debit card + additional hold = keys to a vehicle to rent. So, I make my reservation and arrive to pick up my car. When I arrive I am THEN informed that they need ID plus two of the following: current paycheck stub from within last 30 days with current address and name and address of employer, home phone bill, cable bill, electric bill, garbage/water/sewer bill, verification of address via 411.com, or home/auto insurance card with current address and policy number. First of all -- what??? I've NEVER been asked to provide anything with financial information on it, other than my debit card. Shady, as it is. Second of all -- THIS INFORMATION IS NOT POSTED ON THEIR WEBSITE, which was confirmed by another employee who said, and I quote, "Yeah, it's not super clear or present on our website. That's kinda on us." IF YOU KNOW THIS IS A PROBLEM - FIX IT! Who travels around with bills or a current pay stub when attempting to rent a car? I don't have a home phone line. Haven't since I moved out of my parents house over a decade ago. I have a cell phone, but the online record of that bill wouldn't suffice for them. I also rent, and none of the bills are in my name. Again, let me repeat, I've NEVER had to provide anything like what this location/business requires. And, again, this information is NOT on their website. So, now I'm trapped at Enterprise because my ride left because I had a reservation to pick up a car. After some frustration and calling around to find a ride, I switched my reservation for today so that I could bring a pay stub. So, fast forward to today. I arrive expecting my reservation is EXACTLY the same as it was when I had previously made it, because all we did was adjust the date. My ride leaves. And the same guy from the previous day goes, "Okay, so, we have a Toyota Sienna for you." A bit confused I say, "Wait? Shouldn't this car be an intermediate size car like I reserved yesterday?" "We don't have that. All we have is this." "The only vehicle you have today is a minivan?" "Yes. Do you want it?" "I'm not sure I have much of a choice. You literally watched my ride walk out the door before showing me the only vehicle available today. Can I ask why when you switched my reservation to today you didn't inform me that the car class I requested would be available?" "It's the same price. Do you want it?" "Again. I'm not sure I have much of a choice. Is there a reason you didn't communicate this with me? I am incredibly uncomfortable driving a vehicle this size where I'm going." "The website says 'This size or larger.' Do you want it or not?" "Actually - it says 'Or similar'...DRASTICALLY different when dealing with the size class of a vehicle. And, you just saw my ride leave. I have no choice but to take this minivan." "Great. Come with me so we can do the walk around and you can take the van." Now, I know this seems minor. And this is LESS about the fact that I'm left driving a vehicle I'm incredibly uncomfortable in. This is 100% about the atrocious LACK of communication on behalf of this location and business. If your requirements as a company to rent a car are that specific regarding paperwork, you need to have that on your website. When employees move reservations without informing the customer of any and all other changes - this is a problem. Never again, Enterprise. Never ever again. Thanks for two frustrating days, horrible communication, and sticking me with a vehicle that I specifically did NOT reserve. Nice job. You've lost a customer. 100%. Not that you care. LONG STORY SHORT: I was overcharged four days, promised free future rental days and upon trying to rent from Main St branch the information was not found, EVER! The last time I had to rent a car they were going to give me one that had a bolt in the tire. They did give me an upgrade for a different car, but it was not clean and the low tire light was on. I was leaving to San Diego for a volleyball tournament and traveling with 30 athletes on a Thursday. I make the reservations in April for 3 fifteen passenger vans and all is good. I get a confirmation call on week before my trip to confirm vans and all is still good. I get a call from manager Tuesday, 2 days before my trip, telling me "a van was in an accident and they have no vans for me." Sounds fishy that 3 vans are not available because one got into an accident 5 days after they call and asked me if I really need the vans. Their offer was to TRY and findn6 smaller vehicles for me. Now I don't have enough legal age drivers to take multiple cars. If no transportation is found then trip is off and the non-profit organization loses close to $5,000 because all rooms are already rented for our trip and tournament registration. I called manager to see what we can do and she said she was working on it but had to leave at 2pm. Never heard from her for the rest of the day. The next day, she called and said she was still working on it , then didnt hear from her again until the morning of our trip to apologize for their screw up. Apparently there was a golf tournament that took precedent over our program, probably a higher bid, so we got dropped. We were lied to about the initial reason which I find amazing for a manager to do. Time to change car companies after 13 years of service. read more

I reserved a full-size car about a month in advance for a weekend, but when I went to pick it up, they had no full-size cars available?! Their only redeeming quality was Andrew, the person who helped me get a car. He was super friendly and accommodating. He offered me a Prius which was ten dollars more a day for the same price, which I did not take because it was too small. Instead, he made arrangements with the Santa Cruz Enterprise and drove me there to pick up my full-size. Other than that, checking out was a breeze and the girl who checked me out was also friendly. I would probably give a lower rating if I would have needed the car right there and then, but I reserved it for a day before I needed it and was in no huge rush. from reading all the reviews for this place i guess ive been really lucky with my dealings with them,that or they have gone some major changes on how things are run there.just this last 2 months ive rented an SUV for family trips which has gone smooth on both occasions.i usually stop by at least a week before the date i need it and reserve the necessary sized vehicle.the only issue for me is their price inconsistencies,from what they told me it varies due to the cars they have on hand.so if youre planning on renting a big sized vehicle and its a weekend or holiday i would suggest to rent it sooner when the price is a bit lower.it helps to check online also to get a better idea for pricing. read more

They were a bit disorganized but what made me really upset as to give it 1 was because the car they gave me had power seats and on the first day the seat didn't want to work and go forward. I called and no one seemed to care as to fix it. All they said was that they could sent someone to tow the car but that at that time they couldn't drive me a replacement. As a small business who really needs to rent cargo vans, I have tried to make things work with this Enterprise for many many years. But the fact is this office is so poorly run and has so much manager turnover that they are completely unreliable. Multiple times I have arrived to find that they don't have the vehicle we reserved and didn't bother to call. Recently they informed me that even though I was renting three vans in one day (and have been for years), only I was authorized to drive them and not my employees. I have switched to renting much less expensive, more convenient Uhaul vans or in cases where I don't want all that Uhaul writing on the vehicle, driving all the way to Autoworld in Santa Cruz. Alternative companies also allow Sunday returns so you aren't unnecessarily paying for that extra day. read more

I've worked (I worked at a car dealership) with Enterprise in the past so I knew what to look for and do when renting a vehicle. When I first went to this Enterprise the service was great. Brian is a good guy and even though it is their job to try and sell you every little thing out there Brian did not push as hard as one other guy. A few days later I asked to exchange the vehicle I was in so I went back and dealt with a Herado (somewhere along those lines of a name). From the very beginning this guy was irritated and short with me. He really did not seem like he wanted to be there. He pushed for me to make a decision and after I made my decision he tried to change it quickly. I told him to put me in a vehicle so that I did not have to deal with his negativity any longer and he stated that he did not want to deal with me either. For a company that prides itself on customer service they sure didn't get the pick of the litter with this guy. My insurance company and I will be writing a letter to his manager and any upper management that will hear us. Customer service is not what is use to be. read more
