As a non-driver who just moved to town from a much larger city, it pains me everytime I have to…read morecall for a ride from this company; which happens a lot, because Uber and Lyft have low reliability in this vicinity... I should also add I am a Visibly Muslim person, who wears Hijabs and Turban religious clothing. Courtesy Cab drivers are a ALOT less than "Courteous". Putting your car ride in the hands of Courtesy Cab drivers is a Crapshoot Experience. A lot of times the driving styles are so unnecessarily aggressive for the size of the town or it's current traffic conditions that I feel its my life in their hands, not just a quick ride, and feeling like I'm in a clandestine Chilango Taxi. While this happens most times I contract a ride from Courtesy Cab, my last Crapshoot Experience was a bit more devastating. This ride was for a pickup at the hospital to take my elderly mother home after undergoing a procedure. My mother was still heavily sedated. And throughout the whole ride the Driver kept making very rude inappropriate comments, specially to be making in front of an elderly woman with Dementia (while the driver didn't know this about my mother, the comments were inappropriate comments to make in front of ANY patron). For example cat calling a pregnant woman walking away from the hospital to "Get in the [Courtesy Cab] Van... " when asked by my Dementia mother, who didn't understand this man was just being a disrespectful Dick, if he was in fact picking up the poor helpless woman, his response was "Nadamas por estar haciendole Ruido". He drive with misogynistic Confidence and proceeded to argue with my heavily sedated mother about which way he would take to get to her house because he knew a better way that would cost her less, turned out he was driving us to a different part of town because there was no use of GPS to locate the destination, only a few muffled radio transmissions to dispatch for directions. Then once we finally made it to my Mothers house, a very nonchalant Driver, didn't offer a hand with the cooler and the luggage I had to load into the Van myself, I also had to unload without help, and I wasn't able to help my sedated mom get out of the Van. I walked away from the Van and went to set the luggage down and while my mother groggily got out of the Van herself, I over heard the driver telling my Mom "Digale a la muchacha que SE quite ESE trapo, a esas mujeres las matan a pedradas." Which to me sounded like a Threat, I was waiting for him to cast the first stone. And my mother was terrified. It's the straw in the Camel's back that made it break. I understand there's Nepotism, or excuse me, "Affirmative Action" and "grandparenting" people into a position to work, but aptitude of a driver and equipment to properly perform a job should be the standard to provide a service to the Community. I hope to be able to seek legal restitutions, this is not ok treatment for an above the law company to have toward their patrons.

It is cheaper to take a Uber than to get a ticket for a DUI. I use it before I get BATSH%T drunk,…read morelike at a wine or bourbon tasting dinner event. What appeals to me most about Uber is that it prioritizes a passenger's safety. The app generates a one-time verification PIN that I give to the driver, and the app also permits me to opt-in for an audio recording of the entire driver/ passenger conversation. I also use Uber to buy ferry tickets to Fire Island. I click on "Account" "Transit Tickets" "Buy Ticket" and then select which part of the island I want to visit. This July 4, I plan to go to the annual Drag Queen Invasion of Fire Island, so I will be selecting "Pines". The app has a Hotel Reservation feature that is found on the "Services" tab, but I won't be staying in the Pines overnight. It will be a "day trip" thing. Overall, I have had nothing but positive experiences with Uber in all the years that I have been using the service. I am one satisfied customer.

(Which sometimes can be a complete freaking creepy weirdo) So I try my best not to use them unless I have to. Because you never know what kind of driver you're gonna get. To be honest I like a traditional taxi cab better than uber.
