Well this has been a bizarre experience. I'm trying to get a cab for my 76 year old mother. Together she and I have been trying to get a ride from South Valley Cab for the past two hours. My mother called the number on their website repeatedly (probably 5 or 6 times), often she'd get a voice mail box and on two separate occasions when she got through they said she had the wrong number and gave her another number to call. So, she calls the number that they gave her and that number actually is the wrong number having no associating with South Valley Cab.
Next, I decide to call South Valley Cab myself to get this straightened out and they give me the same number to this poor individual who I then call asking for South Valley Cab. This individual tells me that someone called about an hour ago asking for a taxi. I told her, "Yeah, that's my mother - I'm trying to get her a taxi to use." I then proceeded to tell her that South Valley Cab is handing out her number. I told her to try it herself by calling the number on their website and they will give you YOUR number. She got a kick out of that.
I will add that a couple of days ago I called South Valley Cab in anticipation of using their services (for my mother today). During that phone call they did not deny they were a taxi service, but asked if they could call later that night giving a specific time of 6 or 7PM - they never called back.
Well, I guess I should find a different taxi for my mother to use. read more
