Who writes a review for a cab company? This girl. When you get top-notch service, it's only fair to share a great review to a deserving company, while helping other travelers find a reliable mode of transportation. They seem to have a system that recognizes the phone #, so they know who they're speaking with. I think it's great since they have my address, they know my preferences (I like to get a call 10 min before they arrive), and they even have a back-up plan in place if their driver can't make it for some reason. I've used United Cab Co. for the past 1.5 years, and they are my go-to whenever I need a ride to SJC. They're the best... around! Support them! read more

WOW! If I could give a ZERO to these people, I would. I just called them (a moment ago) to arrange for a 4:00am pickup to take me to SJ airport. The person who answered the phone literally LAUGHED AT ME and dismissively said, "4 am??!! Really??" I was silent, waiting for some type of acknowledgment from them that they were just joking. Nothing. I then said, " Uhhh...that's your answer? Look, i f you don't want my business, I can go to another taxi service." The reply? "Fine. Go ahead." Imagine my shock. I hung up. Apparently, United Cab's motto is, "We're not happy until you're not happy." I would also suspect that the 5-star ratings here are from United's friends (or other standard cab drivers) who are helping them battle Uber & Lyft. read more

Cab ended up being around 15 min late because they had trouble following the instructions given on how to call in at the entrance gate. The dispatcher called my cell phone to let me know the driver was having trouble finding the address. Rather than help smooth the problem over by having the driver call my cell directly, there was a bit of back & forth with the dispatcher being the middle man. Finally, she said the driver would call me directly, but even then the driver didn't call for several minutes, which stressed me out about things already running late. I finally connected with the driver and the ride to the airport went fine. Just wish the entire experience had been as smooth as the drive itself. read more

* Booking: great experience. The person who picks up the phone is a lady who speaks English natively. She only asks for minimal information (phone number, time and place of pickup). By contrast, Lucky7 never had an actual person answer the phone - I called 3 times at different times of the day and got Padam Raghav's voice mail. * Rates: United clearly lists their rates online at http://www.unitedcabco.com/node/5 (the standard $3 per mile, plus fees charges by the city of San Jose) * Cab: friendly drive, drove well, no complaints. You can pay with cash or by credit card. * Extras: I once lost my driver's license in a United Cab on my way to Hawaii during the winter holidays. I only realized that at the airport, and called them. United went out of their way to FedEx the ID to me, at no cost. read more

Yesterday I was in need of a cab to take me to appointment at Kaiser.... so I did a Yelp search for a cab co. & saw all the wonderful reviews for United... so I called & did NOT regret it!! Starting with the booking with Shannon... what a WONDERFUL experience that was.... it went so smoothly & she was SO nice!! When I hung up I realized I didn't book my return home.... when I called her back she was so sweet & caring... to make sure they would be there right on time after my appointment... such a great experience!! They offered to call when they arrived but I just happened to be outside waiting but I loved that they offered that. Driver (Claire) was not only on time but was very friendly & caring... I use a walker & she was so sweet to offer me help into the car & she took care of my walker & when we arrived at Kaiser... she not only got my walker ready & brought it to my door but she offered to get the door into Kaiser. What service!!! I had thought it was great service from that driver... it wasn't possible I'd get a 2nd driver so awesome. But I did!! My return driver was Trace was on timeb & she was just as caring about my needs & very pleasant to talk to on the ride home. Driver experience A++ Both cabs I rode in were clean & pleasantly cool (it was a HOT day). They took credit card or cash... which was a great option. So I was a bit nervous about taking a cab to my medical appt. but I just so pleasantly surprised with my fantastic experience & now I will be using this co. again & I recommend you should too... you won't regret it =) They are programmed in to my phone... next time & every time I need a cab... In a cab as we speak. Driver is going the wrong way, driving below the speed limit, has no idea where he is going. He just did a huge loop and ended up a block from our house and charged us 8.90 and running. I'm never using them again. read more

Awesome experience! I booked a 4:30 am pickup at my company's office to go to SJC. The dispatcher was super friendly (and a bit flirtatious). The driver arrived 7 minutes early but told me to take my time. The dispatcher (or someone) had left very specific instructions regarding local landmarks (e.g., a statue near the spot where I said I'd be waiting), to make it as easy for the driver to find me as possible. After I got in, he voluntarily refrained from starting the meter until we got out of the parking lot and onto the main road. The cab was very clean and outfitted with the latest technology, including an NFC-enabled credit card terminal. We had a nice chat on the way. The fare was metered and came out to about $40 pre-tip, which was what I expected. A++++. I would gladly use this service again. read more

My cab was supposed to arrive at 5:00, instead i got a call at 5 saying the cab had broken down and they had called a yellow cab for me. There was no estimated time of arrival. So I had to have my wife drop me to the airport so I could make my flight. I would highly recommend not using this Cab company. The only reason I gave it one star was because yelp does not allow zero stars. read more

My driver picked me up 5 min. early (I like that!) and drove me to the PAMF Surgi Center in Mountain View for a 6:30 am check in time for surgery. When I came out of surgery, one of the nurses asked me where my keys are an then she laid them on my bed. I had left them in the cab and my great driver drove them back and dropped them off at the Surgi Center. I don't know his name, but I am SO GRATEFUL for what he did. This was the first time I got a cab in California. I was a little scared because of most of the reviews for other cab companies. I guess I chose to give United Cab a try since it was one of the few cab companies that had five star reviews on yelp. So I called, and even though I live in Fremont, they came to pick me up on time, actually even earlier. I love the fact that the person answering the phone is friendly and speaks English. They also store my name and address with the caller ID info so I don't even have to give them my address. Drivers always show up on time for trips to the airport - usually early. Great company. read more
