I used this location a few months back when I needed some work done on my car. Firstly, efficient system they have with the collision shop-- drop-off was super simple-- they met me at the shop and got me into the rental quickly. Unfortunately, I got a flat tire in my rental (in my driveway, luckily.) The staff here were great about instructing me about how to call Enterprise's roadside assistance and getting me into a new car first thing the next day. And the staff were so, so nice the whole time. Cars were a little on the older side, but I was just using it for regular errands for a few days while my car was getting work done so I didn't mind much. read more

Terrible service . Waiting for car for 1 hour only to be told it was not available as it needed to be oil changed . Was offered a very small alternative and can come back later to pick up the car . Car was not available the next day car was still not available . Calling customer service to try to get through is virtually impossible was on the hold line for over 9 minutes before I hung up . The employees there are great, they're nice, friendly and helpful, it's the company I have a problem with, for one a $400 refundable deposit on a minivan, I'm not gonna be bombing it down the freeway in a soccer mom van, also their deposits range from $200 to $850 depending on location, I can put that as a down payment to buy a car. Two not even the employees get some slack from renting cars, they get a discount on the car, but that's it, they pay all the bs fees and small charges aswell. Three is all the fees, Tolls I completely understand I got to pay but a convenience fee on top of that? One that cost more than the toll itself. A while ago I needed to rent a car. Having rented a car from Enterprise a few years ago and had a great experience I contacted them again. Online I chose a model and was told that if that model was unavailable I could rent a comparable model. Enterprise picked me up at home. At their office Ahlyia assisted me with the paperwork, which took about ten minutes and off I went. Later I decided to extend my rental period so I went to their office. Another agent and Ahlyia assisted me with my request. My experience throughout has been awesome. I want to thank Ahlyia very much for the initial paperwork and the agent and Ahlyia for processing my request for additional rental time. They were friendly, knowledgeable and thoughtful. I highly suggest that you find a different location. This review is long but worth the read. I visited home for Thanksgiving 2020 and had very limited car options to choose from - a car reeking of smoke, another smelled of farm animals according to the sales rep and then finally the vehicle I settled with. I was told that the "check tire pressure" light would go off on its own after it recalibrated. It never did and the tire blew. I contacted the local branch immediately to report the issue and was told that they would take care of the $500 fee when I returned the vehicle. I had to do an after hours drop off to make my flight back to California, and by the time I landed not only did I get charged $500, but when I contacted the local branch I was told that Nick (man who said he would take care of the fee) had moved to the Syracuse airport location. I contacted that location - no response. I have called the corporate offices several times who have routed the complaint through the regional office - no response. Now here we are in September and coming up on a year of this incident and I'm just at a loss. I have rented with several Enterprise locations and I have to say this by far serves as the worse with the worst customer service. Do yourself a favor. Choose a different location. read more

This is the local location that I use most often as it is most convenient from my house. I needed to pick up a rental to go out of town for work. It was reserved online and the process was super easy. I called for a pick up and the driver was timely (actually 10 mins early, so he had to wait for me). I got to the location and there were no issues getting in the rental. I often find that they will free upgrade you a size, depending on what is on the lot. On my way back into town, i called to be sure the driver could drive me home and it was no problem. Since I came back with more items than I left with, he just drove me in the rental, so I didn't have to move my stuff. Plus, the driver was an approx 80 year old guy (Pete?) who was super friendly and really nice to talk to! read more

I unfortunately recently had car issues and was in need of a rental car for over a month. I went through this local Enterprise and they made this stressful time so much easier! They handled everything directly with my insurance company so I didn't have to deal with so many different people. They even met me and dropped the rental car off at the autobody shop my car was brought to. They showed up quickly and I didn't have to wait around for them at all. They were so kind and gave me a detailed run-down of the car I was renting. It was extremely clean and even had extra disinfectant wipes for me to use. Really felt like I was driving a brand new car! They called me once or twice over the weeks to make sure everything was going well with the car and to ask if I needed anything, which I really appreciated. When it came time to drop off my rental, with my busy schedule, I couldn't make it to the shop before they closed. This was no problem at all because I was able to drop off the car in their lot and place the keys in an after-hours drop box on the side of the building. I really appreciate how easy and seamless this whole experience was and I would definitely recommend going here for all your rental needs! read more

My wife and I had a great experience at this location when after arriving in from California! Jessica and Adam went above and beyond for us. I needed a bigger car for a family trip out of state and returned in person to my local enterprise to put in a reservation several weeks in advance. I was told by a staff member that the Nissan Armada I was seeking was not available at their location and I could get a better price by renting at the Syracuse, NY airport. Side note: I did see a Nissan Armada in the local enterprise lot that same day. In fact, I rented a Nissan Armada at the local enterprise a few months previous. Hmm. I went online and reserved an SUV at the Syracuse Airport, easy process, and in the notes I requested the Nissan Armada. I received updates and clear instructions via email about the rental pickup and dropoff. Both pickup and drop off were quick and painless. Staff was friendly and helpful. The Armada was new with only over 2,000 miles on it and the interior was very clean. The only other comments would be to join enterprises reward program - it does help, and to make your car rentals IN ADVANCE. While picking up the rental at the airport, there were 2 other angry customers who thought that they could just get to the airport and get a car and there were zero cars available at that time (7pm on a Saturday). read more

I have a corporate account and figured I would use this location because it's closer to my home. There is no place to park your personal vehicle if you need to leave one and was told I cannot because they don't own the property. More representatives are in the back than up front when I was picking up. I had a return date and time and confirmed, but still get a call asking when am I returning. I had a reservation for 7:30 am to only be told we don't have a car ready for you, and it would be an additional 15 minutes. 30 minutes later and still waiting for a car! Had to cancel a business meeting to accommodate for their incompetence and very poorly run office. The looks on the employees faces looked of exasperation. As soon as I returned to the office I made sure that none of my staff utilize this office for any business rental needs! It's much much faster to rent from the airport then this joke of an office. Update: I was told I will receive the rental agreement via email, and yet to receive it! I called to extend my rental by 2 days and was told they will email me an update rental agreement! The worse rental experience ever. Don't go to the 637 W Genesee St, Syracuse, NY 13204 location. The service person was rude and the manager was curt and angry. I've rented here many times. I have enterprise points an all. She kept making up reasons to not rent me a car. It was unbelievable. I rented in January without incident. I've rented for weeks at a time at one point. This is the same location i have rented from for years. I did not recognize this new manager. Not once did she look me in the eye. Not once did she even look at me when she spoke to me. I was shocked by the rude, curt behavior. She didn't even make sense. I couldn't believe that she pulled this stunt on my religious holiday, the EID. I had to go out of town, i had hotel reservations. I had reserved this car weeks in advance. This is the same rental office that couldn't wait to rent me a car when my auto insurance claim paid for my rental for days back in December. They had no problem renting a car to someone who's new address was not on the FRONT of their drivers license. Apparently , the sticker that the DMV placed on the back, with my new address on it , was not good enough today but good enough every other time. It was good enough during my 3 week rental. But it's an issue now, right? lol . I will never rent there again, and i have instructed my friends an family to do the same. The staff here at this branch are horrible don't use this location it took me several day just to get them on the phone because they don't answer when I finally did the guy was so rude he actually had me shaking. He ended up hanging up the phone. I called the call center and let them know about the issue and they fixed it for me and we're not rude. This is not a location that's right by the airport but in central Syracuse. However, why I go there is they consistently have better rental rates than at the airport or other car rentals. Nice and clean. Super friendly service. Plus, Enterprise will pick you up from your location to the car rental office. I am beyond disappointed in my rental experience with this establishment. I reserved a rental car over three weeks in advance for a family holiday trip. However, when I went to pick up the vehicle, I was told there were no more available. I was never contacted by Enterprise informing me of the lack of vehicles. When I asked the employees to please check the other Enterprise locations for availability, they said there were no more available and we were out of luck. They seemed more concerned with getting their jackets on to leave the office than with fixing the error they had created. When I returned home, sans car, I went online only to find out that there was indeed the car I needed at a nearby Enterprise location. The lack of organization, service, and general care for customers is despicable. This Enterprise location is a detriment to the company's reputation. read more

I reserved a car through Enterprise website. Chose the "For quicker service" option: 1) Was not aware of $25 drop fee for dropping at the airport. 2) The gentleman asks me for a phone number and I give him my cell, then they ask for another number. I explain that I don't have another number. They ask me to give a business, family, or friend. 3) The guy then asks for two references with names and phone number which is something I never want to give and have never been asked for when renting a car. 4) I ask to cancel the reservation because it's too much of a production. The guys rolls his eyes at me and asks "You really want to cancel because of the reference thing?!" Will never go back. I took a lyft from this location to my home. read more

I made a reservation, went there at 5 pm, waited 20 minutes for the guy to stop fawning over a good looking femaie customer, only to hear, from the person in front of me, that there are no cars. It's like they're 10 minutes from the airport, clearly they can bring cars over. The guy in front of me was dropped off by his insurance company that had made a reservation for him. He said the computer indicated that they called hi to tell him there were no cars, He had no calls. The guy told me "yeah, we didn't call you." The guy working there was really rude but honestly, think he was just compensation for his stupidity, boy what a dummy. The place is a mess and totally disorganized too. I had to wait an hour at the train station to get picked up. If they had told me that the wait would be long, I would have taken a taxi to the car location. However, once there, the service was fine and the car was clean. The check in time was very fast -- as was the return procedure. I used this company because they work directly with my insurance company. My claims agent set up a reservation for me, I called to confirm and set up a pick up time at the Auto Shop, They told me to call the morning of my appointment to confirm that I was on my way, it seemed reasonable. I called back the morning of my appointment and I spent 22 minutes on hold before I got through to an Enterprise agent. They said there was no record of my reservation or appointment (though I had called the day before to confirm everything). They told me they would still send a driver but it would be a 15-20 min delay. 1 hour later I am still sitting at the Auto shop with another woman who was waiting for a driver too (she had been waiting an hour and a half) we tried to call but were on hold once again for 15 minutes. A driver finally came and the place was extremely busy so it took aprox. 30 min to get up to an Enterprise agent. My insurance company covers an economy size car, that is what they reserved for me. The day I came in Enterprise did not have any economy size car left so they placed me in a Ford Expedition (I drive a small Mazda) heading into a snow storm with no 4-wheel drive. There is no reason that car should even be made without 4-wheel drive. They told me I could wait 30-45 min for an economy car to arrive but since the process had taken aprox. 1 hour 30 min longer than planned I would be late for work if I had stayed. The vehicle was out of control. It got stuck in a parking lot not fully in a spot and I had to have someone help me push it out of the way. I called Enterprise to have them switch the car. After being on hold for 40 MIN (at 3pm on a Wednesday) I asked for someone to bring the new car to my house and switch it for the Ford because I did not feel comfortable driving the car. They told me they could get me a better car and bring it to me but that it wouldn't be till the next day in the afternoon. They told me that since it wasn't till the next day I had to call back in the morning to schedule it. I was confused, I asked why they couldn't make the reservation now I didn't wanna sit on hold again, but the guy said no, I had to call back. The next morning I called back at 8AM and was on hold for 25 min. They guy wanted to send someone right then, but I was not home as I planned for the afternoon as the man had said the day before so I asked them to send someone at 11AM. The Enterprise agent told me that I would have to call back.... AGAIN.... at 10:45AM when I was actually home. I said I did not understand why they could not just reserve it for me and send someone. The guy said he would make a note but I would still have to call back. So I did, with just a 10 min hold time (shortest in the whole experience). They sent someone with a car, the guy apparently did not bring my contact info with him because I heard honking outside my house. I knew I was waiting for a Nissan Altima so I looked out the window and saw the Enterprise agent on the phone honking the horn. So I came out, waited a few minutes for the guy to wrap up the phone call then got my new car. It was nice of Enterprise to trade the car for me but the entire process was so pained and disappointing that I will not use them again. read more

This is a great location. The employees do the best they can even when customers show up 5 minute before they close. We had sudden need for a rental and they could not have been any more helpful and professional. One employee stated late, was pleasant and professional. This was the second time we had a pressing a sudden need for a rental. Our previous experience was just as positive. Friendly, professional, and eager to help customers out.
