I'll start off by saying I'm a loyal customer of Enterprise and of the 25 times a year I get a rental car, I go to Enterprise around 22 of those times. This location is convenient and the cars are just across the entrance at the garage, so that is a good thing. I also haven't had any of the cars breakdown so that's a plus as well. The negatives as I see them: A) no matter what you say and even if you just rented a car from this exact location the entire whole week, they give the same questions like robots, even when I tell them up front "my info is current, I'll bring it back with gas, no extra insurance and I don't need a toll pass". You still get asked questions for a wasted 5 minutes. Let's be smarter than that and actually allow your employees to use their brains. B). The last two cars were dirty and one had less than half a tank when they said it would be full. I dropped the car off at 5am and rather than taking a picture and then calling to argue after I was charged for another half tank of gas, I just filled the car full. C) receipts. For whatever reason, this location is not emailing me my receipts. I have to call and email to try and get a human for a receipt. What gives? Every other location sends me one instantly as soon as I turn in the car or usually within 30 minutes or so of the location opening. Overall, the price was fair and the car served its purpose, but this location could use a little work to be up to par with other locations of which I see many all the way from Boston to San Diego. Had no complaints or problems. Had rented a truck and a clean one was available when my flight landed 4 hours late. The woman at the desk, Kimberly, was very helpful and kind. My one complaint was that there were only 3 people in line when I arrived and my wait was at least 15 mins; they need a second counter agent. Returned my vehicle before they opened since I had an early flight, which was very easy. Parked it in an open spot in the car return area and dropped the keys in the box on their desk. Got the receipt emailed to me when they opened that day for exactly what I was quoted to pay. Return parking lot is a reasonable walking distance from the airport building itself and the enterprise desk is actually right next to the baggage claims, which is very convenient upon arrival. read more

Enterprise has always delivered great services to me but this one in particular just kept giving me a hard time to get the rental of my likes. Usually its easy to upgrade but for some reason the agent who was assisting me wasn't much help. Tanner wouldn't give up any of his full-size suvs. Obviously this branch is all about the bonuses and trying to squeeze out as much money out of your pocket. EAN holdings is a family oriented company and yet this branch doesn't look out after this family and friends. So I closed out my first contract and made a new contract just to get into a full-size suv. Came back next day and another fellow helped me and he was more nice and had better customer service. Sean really great guy. In the end was quoted for about 400 plus for my whole contract but was charged a total of 900 from my card. Ok I did drop off the vehicle at a different location only about 100 miles away so I was expecting a drop off fee. I had asked the new location how much was it usually for a 1 return of the vehicle and was quoted about 30 cents a mile, usually. But in the end I was charged 400 for the drop off fee. Outrageous huh? So I tried calling the branch located in Dane County Regional Airport and now they are forwarding all my calls. So I reached out to corporate. Hope everything works out. I reserved a 7-passenger minivan months prior to the pick-up date in preparation for my cross country move to the East Coast. Upon arrival to the Dane County location, Amanda was very frazzled and told me that they did not have any minivans, but I was welcome to a sedan or a Nissan Rouge. I was very frustrated and Amanda said, "I'm hoping desperately that someone drops a minivan off for you." Hope is not a business plan. Hope is not a reliable way to run a business. I decided to leave for a bit and continue packing up my apartment in the hopes that a usable vehicle would become available. I attempted to call Enterprise Customer Service and the automated message stated that the Customer Service Department is closed on Saturday's - this is astounding to me! Fortunately, Amanda called back about an hour later and stated that a Chevy Tahoe had been dropped off and she could offer it for the same price. She was very kind and apologetic, and obviously did what she could to help me. However, a large portion of my items did not fit in the Tahoe because there was no rack on the roof for a car topper, which a minivan would have had. There is also less cargo space - 140.3 cubic ft in the Dodge Caravan vs. 94.7 cubic ft in the Tahoe. Now, these items need to be shipped to me at additional cost, which is unacceptable. Overall, Amanda was very helpful and did what she could to help. Enterprise, however, needs to reassess their business plan. If I reserved a hotel room months in advanced, not having an available room would be unacceptable. If a table at a restaurant is reserved, it is expected to be ready when the guest arrives, or shortly after. This is how the customer service industry functions and clearly Enterprise cannot adhere to those standards. read more

I travel frequently, and rent regularly from Enterprise. I can honestly say this is by far the most challenging Enterprise location I've ever rented from. Be warned, even if you reserve a certain size and vehicle type in advance, not just a manger special or econobox, but larger class of specific vehicle, they do nothing to hold or accommodate your reservation as made. I was offered upon arrival a choice of either a large mini-van or full-size truck, neither which was helpful for the tight downtown parking hotel parking garage nor not wanting to waste fuel driving a huge vehicle. Strongly advise if you need a particular car type to rent from another airport vendor there. read more

NEVER have I been stranded at an airport because a reserved vehicle was unavailable. I arrived in Madison---on time---with a confirmed RESERVATION made through Enterprise's website. I waited at the counter for over 5 minutes while the agent talked to a co-worker or friend on the phone. When she was done and I handed her my ID and credit card and told her I had a reservation she said "that won't do you any good" "We are out of cars". I asked how long of a wait and she said "maybe an hour----maybe not until tomorrow". So having traveled thousands of miles today, I am now stranded at the airport. She offered no options----no taxi service, etc. NOTHING...and on top of it she was RUDE and offensive in her handling. She took great delight in informing me that there were fourteen others waiting in front of me that also didn't have cars. Fortunately, a travel companion had a reservation with HERTZ who handled his reservation professionally and quickly. I got a ride from him to my hotel and will deal with this fiasco tomorrow morning. You can rest assured I will NEVER RENT FROM ENTERPRISE AGAIN. Awful does not begin to describe tonight's experience. She's one heck of a good will ambassador for the Madison area. If the review was for him alone I would have given him six or seven stores. I deducted a star because of Enterprises in efficient way of staffing. We rented a van to move some furniture from Minneapolis to Madison (in one day) on a Sunday, and the only car rental places open on Sunday in the great city of Madison are the ones at the airport. (Uhaul was way too expensive!) The polite man at the counter helped guide us to the best deal he could find and even let us cross that little old state line without paying a fee. We rented a van so new it only had 500 miles, it was clean, and it got us there and back. read more

Convenient location. Was traveling with a small infant and needed a car seat. I booked everything online and called to confirm. When I got to the rental desk the price was $100 more for the ten days than the online price I was given. I was told it was a 25% deposit. When I dropped the car off it still cost me $100 more, so no 25% deposit. The car seat was not ready when I arrived and I was told she had gotten me a nice "clean" one. The car seat was disgusting: full of crumbs and food leftovers and smelled horrible. I had to cut holes I a blanket to run the straps of the car seat through because it was so nasty. My word of advice: don't ever rent a car seat! When I inquired about car seat installation I was told they are not aloud to install them due to liability reasons which wasn't a problem. When I asked for the installation instructions and they didn't have them that was a problem. She said she would send her manager out to instruct me but he was just as clueless as she is about the word "clean". Next month I will be renting from any other company besides enterprise. There are about 4-5 to choose from at that location. read more

The rental desk is right next to the baggage claim area. I had no problems with picking up my car. They offered to upgrade me to a larger vehicle (free) as they didn't have a car immediately ready, but by the time all the paperwork was done, the car was ready. My only compliant was that the low tire pressure light came on during the rental period and the car did not have a tire pressure gauge to check which tire was low. Crappy service! I rented a car at the airport and was told the computer system had gone down in the middle of checking in for my rental car. I ended up being charged twice in two separate amounts and had to call them to fix it. Was told it would be fixed and while it was credited I was charged again for another amount. This was supposed to be during a work conference and I ended up on the phone and emailing the enterprise place the entire time trying to reconcile the issues! I typically rent my cars through Enterprise, but this experience has me shaking my head. I landed less than 30 minutes early and went to get my rental. When I got to the counter I was told they didn't even have a car the property and would make some phone calls. They told me they had another car, but they wanted to charge me extra. (I've always been upgraded at no extra cost in these situations) I booked my car through hotwire and was told that by choosing a compact over economy that I would get more features. However, when I got my car it didn't even have cruise and I had to put on about 300 miles. The car didn't drive straight, wasn't that clean (front windshield was streaked from the inside and something was spilled in the center cup holder.) There were no power seats or adjustable steering wheel. (I found a lever, but it didn't seem to do anything - broken maybe?) I was mostly upset that the car didn't have cruise, you would think that would be a standard feature. When I returned the car and the lady asked me how it was, I told her that I was unhappy, but she didn't seem to really have anything to say except when I told her my biggest complaint was that it didn't have cruise, she did say that the guy who issued the car to me at the airport should have told me that. Come on Enterprise... you can do better than this!!! read more

I would like to file a complaint about your associates customer service skills, Yesterday (8/4/2016) I arrived at the enterprise location in the Dane county Airport. I had a 6:00 appointment that I arranged through Car Rentals.com. My confirmation code is 12. I was to rent the vehicle for my vacation time to attend a wedding today (8/5). The vehicle was to return 8/6. When I arrived there were two gentlemen working with customers on the phone for a few minutes. Chris Craft finished first and asked to help me. I told him of the reservation number, supplied him with my Wisconsin drivers license and the Debit card that I made the reservation with. Chris asked if I had a card that did not say "Debit" on it. I do not. He informed me that he could not continue with my reservation because it is "Enterprises" policy that they do not accept "debit cards with a wisconsin drivers license" I asked if my drivers license was from different state would that make a difference and was told "yes". First this miffed me because I made a reservation in the state that I reside in, The debit card is from a wisconsin bank, and we were in dane county airport, madison wisconsin. How can that be? So I implied that not only did my reservation email state that "Debit" cards are accepted, showed Chris the actual email on my phone, but there was no posting in any visible place that "Debit Cards are not accepted with Wisconsin Drivers Licenses"! Chris stayed calm and explained that it was a policy that could be seen on this website I write you from, enterprise.com. Ok, I expressed to Chris that it was 6pm on a thursday night, I needed the vehicle to get to a wedding, and I was to be leaving early Friday (today - NOW). He continued to explain that it was in fact the policy and if I would go to enterprise.com I could see for myself. I asked for the Manager on Duty, so I could be explained any further options or ask for senior management contact information. By this time the gentleman on the other phone was done with his call and came over to help. He never offered his name but he did reinforce what Chris was saying about the "Debit Card" policy. I asked for the district managers info and was told by the guy that he didnt know it. I told him I would wait while he located someone who could tell him the info, or if he possibly had email contact info for the district manager, I would wait for that. He then told me to condensendingly, "that you will be waiting a long time then" and walked from the counter into the back office. He did this not only to me, but in front of other customers that had now formed behind me. As a Service Manager for a large retailer here in the midwest, I know the value of coaching team associates to properly take care of customers. The customer care that was displayed by someone claiming to be the supervisor on duty, and The Face Of Enterprise to me the customer, was absolutely appaling. Chris remaining calm tried to get me someones contact number - Mike 608-241-8901 - but did not have his last name available? So now having wasted more of my vacation time that I worked hard to accure, still having to rent another vehicle now on short notice, and being behind in my goal to make it to the wedding thats at 3pm today, I would like to offer some honest feedback on enterprises claim of excellence in customer service. You should find the gentleman that was working as a supervisor and coach him on the importance of helping the customer. Teach him that customers can be upset at the situations that arise but not the people that are the face of your company. You should instill in him that a customer lost due to a bad experience is not a one person thing. It is a ripple. I will never waste time with your company again simply because of this experience. While I work in the business of customers and can empathize that this experience is probably not a constant across the board of you businesses, I am a consumer first and this was simply embarrasing, and wasteful.
