TAKE PICTURES WHEN YOU RETURN YOUR RENTAL CAR OR YOU WILL GET SCAMMED BY THIS ENTERPRISE Or just never rent from this enterprise location. After returning my rental car (after one month), it was in the same condition as when I first picked it up. Upon returning the vehicle, I took pictures all around the outside and inside of the car. When I dropped it off, one of the Enterprise reps also did a 360 scan of the vehicle and said it looked great. Fast forward a week and I received a notice that the vehicle I returned was damaged and that they filed a claim against me. I called Enterprise immediately and spoke to Troy Cabral. He said there was a dent and yellow paint on the drivers side rear passenger door. When I said that I had pictures from the time of drop off, he said (in a surprised voice) "oh... you do?". Yup. He told me to send him the photos, so I did. When I sent Troy the photos of the car, he replied saying, "In the first picture you sent, you can see that the driver's side rear quarter panel is in good condition. When the car returned it was dented and had some yellow paint marks, which is why there was a claim written. The vehicle has been taken to the shop at this point and if you have not already, you will receive pictures of the damage part of the car." Troy was clearly confused on when the photos were taken. I replied saying, "Hi Troy, The photo that you're referencing as having no damage is included below (again) with the timestamp of when I returned it on Monday 10/30 at 4:45 pm. Any damage that you're seeing now occurred after I dropped it off, and therefore I will not be held responsible or be paying for any of the alleged damages. If you could please have the supervisor of this location contact me if you're not able to resolve this, that would be great."  I asked him 3 times for photos of the alleged damage, and Enterprise (him and other reps at the location) continued to claim that no one had them. When I asked for the name of the body shop, they would not tell me. Fishy. I replied once more to Troy, and never got a response. When I spoke to Geico about this 2 weeks after these unsatisfactory communications with Troy, they said that Enterprise was no longer pursuing the claim. If there truly was damage, why would you retract your claim?? Geico also said that Enterprise never submitted photos. So they just were trying to scam me by saying there was damage that was never there. How disgusting and disappointing. In conclusion, never rent from this enterprise location and ALWAYS take photos when you drop off the car. Side note: This location is disgusting inside. It smells like cigarettes, the bathroom is filthy, and the place looks completely run down. I will never be back. read more

They had me in and out after i did my rental online I have extended my rental with no problems at all. The car was gorgeous inside and out. This past Saturday, I simply needed to check in a car which I had for a total of 43 hours and drove just 13 miles. The car was fine. I waited some 40 -minutes for two Enterprise folks to take care of a single customer each. They spent much of the time away from the counter apparently getting the cars ready to rent. To their credit, they did announce several times that 'just a few minutes and help you folks' as they breezed back-and-forth on their errands. In their absence, the line grew by at least four. Lord knows when those folks next saw home! When I finally did get to the counter for my 2-minute transaction, the rental rep enlightened me in what apparently is 'higher mathematics.' You see beyond their unctuous TV ads, Enterprise has developed a unique method of counting. Rather than round up and charge for one extra day, they round up two additional days. When I questioned the math, I was mildly chided for not getting that information when I rented at their Reading location ('hmm-mmmm, guess she told me!'). I took the higher road and didn't argue - and just paid and got the heck out of there. Anyway, a word to the wise. If you plan on renting from Enterprise, particularly at their Lawrence location (on Rte, 28 North near the Andover town line), lower any expectations of being pampered...and take a book. read more

Zero stars if possible. This Enterprise location is abysmal. We went to pick up a car that we had reserved earlier in the week and were told "oh sorry. We don't have cars. We left you a voicemail". They did not in fact leave a voicemail. We have experienced this scenario at this location 3 separate times. We rented a car, arrived to pick it up and told the same thing. I have called the corporate headquarters and the spoken to the manager at this location and no one takes accountability. If you're actually looking to rent a car, I would never count on this location, or enterprise at all. They are incredibly unprofessional, lacking integrity and should be renting clown cars. As you can see enterprise replied to my review. I provided very specific details via email immediately and still haven't heard A THING from the Lawrence location or corporate. Rented a 15,000 mile Nisan from Enterprise as our car was totaled being rear ended with the adjustor to look at and "total" the car and retrieve our license plates from the scene in New York process taking over three weeks requiring a rental. Enterprise was welcoming, service oriented working with us, easy to do business with friendly and accommodated us to the best of their ability. Plus they care about their performance soliciting feedback on any problems with the car providing for you, as their customer, interested clearly wanting a happy customer. Their rate was reasonable, within our insurer's reimbursement coverage. Seems Enterprise is everywhere but North Andover. Don't fret though, their closest location is just over the line in Lawrence. (RT 28 @ 495 to be exact). Being (until recently) a insurance claims adjuster for most of my adult life, I dealt with Enterprise either professionally or personally ( I get great rates) for years. I am also aware of the fact that there was once many other smaller rental companies out there. Enterprise came around & advertised 13.99 per day rentals. Slowly they put out & then bought out the other companies to become the rental car juggernaut that they are now. Oh, well it's clear their business decisions have paid off. My complaint though is that their rates have skyrocketed though & now they are no cheaper or in some cases more than the older in some cases still better known companies. I have also found that they do not clean their cars as well. I just rented a 2009 car from them this week. Their idea of cleaning it was to hose it down. Minutes after driving it away I realized the windows had never been cleaned in its 10,000 mile life. I drove it though the car wash & then went home to clean the windows, pushing cobwebs out of my way while I reached for the back window. Fair is fair & I will give you the good as well. If your able to get a reduced rate either for some sort of a promotion/weekend rate or in my case a corporate rate, the prices are good. They have locations nearly everywhere, they also in most cases have a great selection of cars (although I have requested certain cars weeks early & then been disappointed when I arrived to find they didn't have what I ordered). The cars are almost always the current model year, and yes they do pick you up & drop you off. The employees are very well trained & service from location to location is very consistent. Take it for what it is. Look around & get the best price if its with Enterprise go for it. read more

Today I called ahead to let the staff know I would 5 minutes late picking up a vehicle that I had reserved online. Worker Chris said it would be ok. I arrived 5 minutes after their closing time and the manager at this particular South Union st Lawrence branch watched as I got out ran to the door which was locked. He didn't say a word, got in his Black Charger didn't say a word to me and drove off. This was unsat. at least have the courtesy to talk to a customer that was actually attempting to pick up one of your more expensive rentals and let him know that you had just locked up and due to the unfortunate circumstances you wouldn't be able to help. If I could give a 0 star rating I would. I rent vehicles through a corporate account several times a month. My experience with Enterprise to this point has been extremely positive. However I rented a car from NY to Haverhill, MA and got a flat tire and needed to swap out the car. The Haverhill branch indicated they did not have a vehicle for me and did not provide any guidance about how I get another vehicle. Even if I got the donut on the vehicle, I can not drive the car back to NY but no one indicated where and his I would get a replacement car. Long story short after calling roadside assistance twice (because the first ticket was never placed after giving my information over a 30min phone call) and 3 hours later, a donut was put on the vehicle. However all local branches were closed and no one provided any assistance on where I should go for a replacement vehicle. Next morning I still do not have a replacement vehicle and no one is assisting me in getting into a new one until the vehicle (with donut) is retrieved from the location I left it (which was secure). I called the Lawrence branch (which I should mention is the branch our Andover MA office rents from almost on a daily basis)for help and they indicated they would pick me up in 15 mins and retrieve the car from Haverhill. I am encouraged my problem is getting resolved. 40 minutes go by and no one is picking me up. I called back the Lawrence location and I'm told they can not get me into another vehicle until the car with donut is retrieved and this might take several hours to do. At no time did anyone call me to tell me they weren't coming for me and when I asked about it the response I received was, "it would be quicker and easier if you take an Uber to pick up the car in Haverhill and bring it to our location". I have incurred expenses from staying the night and loss of work since I was not able to get back to NY when expected. Now they want me to take an Uber. When I called Haverhill branch to see if they can retrieve the car since it is 5 mins away they transferred me to Roadside assistance again. A company that claims they can pick you up but when you ask them to pick you up and retrieve a vehicle 5 mins from an office, it appears this can't happen in less than 24-hours. This has been a terrible experience and a real concern for my safety. read more

Staff was friendly and eager to rent me a car even though I got there an hour before closing on a Saturday about 11:00. My car was stuck in the shop until Monday and I had to get to work before dawn the next two days. Didn't have a reservation but they had one car free in the second cheapest class, went over the cost to rent for two days, plus deposit and other paperwork even asked how late they were open for drop off, as late as 6:00. Nice enough car, brakes were touchy because it's new, everything was fine until I returned it. I was told because they do 24 hour billing I was going to have to pay for three days rental, an additional $45. This was because I was returning the car around 4:00, too late to count as two days rental. I was upset this was not made clear to me when I rented the car, because I had been clear when I explained how long I needed the car for. I even asked how late I could return it, but no one cared to mention the extra fee for returning it late. On top of that, I was charged an additional $70 for detailing because, I had smoked in the car which apparently it still smelled of cigarettes. It was explained to me it was "known" you can't smoke in a rental, although usually there are stickers inside informing you of this. Despite the fact I've never heard of this rule, nor was it listed in any of the paperwork I received, or, I later found, even mentioned once on the company's website, I was still charged for a full detailing of the car. I had like 3 cigarettes in that car with the window open. There's no way it needed a full detailing, but somehow that was the only solution. It cost me more in additional fee's than the original rental price I had already paid. And because of the deposit, they already had my money, there was nothing I could do. All of this could have been avoided if they had just been up front about their policies. Very disappointed. TL;DR Hidden fees cost me more than twice what I was expecting. read more

Renting a car is a process. There are many things involved with a rental from charges to insuarnce. Two stars were given because the staff was quick to greet you and begin your transaction. That is the only reason for any stars. Long story short, if your car rental is say 400.00 they will put a hold for double that amount on your debit card. If you are traveling this is something you should know. I used my debit card and had the hold for the double amount on my card! This took needed funds from me while traveling. Be aware also that if you are going to be going through tolls you will need to rent their transponder. Be aware also that their insurance on the vehicle will be expensive. You can chose not to use it but god help you if your insurance doesnt cover any problems that may be incurred. Finally, be aware that roadside assistance is also up to you, they do have a plan you can buy which again is expensive and fyi, not all states or areas are covered. If it is your first time renting a car please ask questions. If you are lucky and go without inceident it may be as simple as reserving and picking up the car. However, if you have a car accident, car breakdown, etc. This could be very costly and time consuming. read more

Exceptional service and very friendly staff. We rented a standard SUV for a family trip and the vehicle we received was fantastic. I received a courtesy call when the driver was on his way to pick me up which was very helpful. The onsite staff had us checked in and on our way in just a few minutes and made the drop off process just as easy. I have used this location in the past and am always impressed with the professionalism of the staff and quality of vehicles. They are one of the few locations in the area open 7 days a week which is a huge advantage. Definitely my go-to location for rentals! read more

Had to rent through them twice, once when an accident happened in front of me on the highway, and then another time when my girlfriend was t-boned by someone running a stop sign. I dealt with a guy named Jose who was an awesome dude. The cool thing is they were really cool about the fact i didn't have a lot of money at the time and couldn't cover the deposit they wanted, but i needed a car to get to work and the accidents were not my fault so insurance was going to cover it in the long run. Long story short they basically took what i had on my credit card (not much!) as a deposit for the most part, and ended up getting that gas whole gas fee thing they do waived because the car i got had a half a tank instead of 3/4 like they said. I didn't ask them to because i'm not that kind of person, they just went ahead and did it even after i said "really? you don't have to do that." First time i got the Pontiac G6, which was pretty okay. Only thing i can say, don't rent the 2011 Corolla, jesus christ that is the worst car i have ever driven. I rented it the second time and if you go any faster than 50 mph your wheels turn into roller skates on swivel casters. read more

I had an OK experience with the sales staff here, until a tire blew and they told me it wasn't my fault at the dealership. Then charged me 900 bucks to fix it. AFTER telling me it wasn't my fault, rather they had a faulty tire. I was in shock who has that laying around. Although they were nice to me, they failed to be honest and that is not good business in my opinion. Dealing with damage claims is another mess altogether. Go somewhere else, they will find a way to charge you more, it's how they make their money. read more

Every time I come here I receive exceptional service from all the workers at this location from Enterprise. The employees are very friendly, professional, and courteous. I have gone three times within 5 months to rent cars and SUV's for weekend trips with friends and family and have left with vehicles that have been great throughout the whole trip. Employees are also very adamant in assuring that the vehicles being returned met renters expectations,comfort, etc. which I did not receive at any other renter companies nor locations. The employees I have had the pleasure of working with at the South Union St. site in Lawrence, MA genuinely care about the renters experience overall. Thanks to the service I have received from Matthew, Kevin and Alejandro, I will continue to rent at this Enterprise location!
