My family and I were in a stressful situation trying to find a large SUV so we could attend my doctoral graduation at Baylor University. Because it was close to the World Cup, almost every rental location was fully booked with tourists, and after visiting multiple places, I honestly started to lose hope. After a short conversation, Son immediately understood what my family needed. He recommended a Chevrolet Suburban for its spacious interior, room for two baby car seats, comfortable seating for additional family members, and a large trunk for all our luggage. It turned out to be the perfect choice for our trip. What truly stood out was Son's professionalism and kindness. He took the time to walk me through the SUV's features, carefully inspected the vehicle with me, and made sure I felt comfortable before leaving. Knowing that we had less than an hour before heading out of town, he also sped up the checkout process to help us get on the road quickly. They missed my reservation drop off, didn't call or email me, and wouldn't answer their phone to give me an update. Called the main Enterprise number and all they can do is also call the local branch and tell me they also can't get an answer. So I just don't have a car. Don't trust reservations here because they are apparently meaningless. Edit: Enterprise updated my reservation over the phone to the following day and they missed my reservation again. They do not answer their phone at this location. I've emailed customer service with no response. Just go to another car rental company. After reading the reviews I was expecting to get bad service but I had no options. Surprisingly everything turns completely different. The representative told him that was all he needed to do and that he would email him. And now we see that they have charged my husband 3 times the amount for failure of returning the vehicle! Terrible Service. Paid over $1000 for rental. Rental turned in almost 4 weeks ago and I still do not have my receipt or rental agreement which I need in order to be reimbursed. Manager BJ has zero customer service skills, is rude and has refused to give me his bosses phone number. He actually told me he doesn't know it. Called customer service for "corporate " . They are just csr's that also do not help. I was told i would be called back in 2 days and no one has called me or done anything. I called back again today and was told the only help I can get is to he girl will call the office where i went and ask what the issue is. As of today after almost 4 weeyoc asking for a receipt and a cooy of my rental agreement I have nothing. No action has been taken. and there is no one to complain to for the bad customer service. Early in Covid-19 window prices of lightly used autos skyrocketed. All car rental agencies grabbed for the gold by retailing off many units in their fleet to grab the profit fast. Which left and under-supply of rental autos available. So all of them are undersupplied, which means they ALL WIN because all of them are in the same boat. Simply making un-projected rental prices due to a spike in demand with low supply. Not to mention that accident rates have had a significant increase, which consumes supply because so many policy holders now need temporary transportation while their autos are being repaired. Local rental car agencies are left to answer to the customers due to lack of supply when we were so spoiled for so long. This branch was amazing. Four employees running around helping everyone with a manager that is out front facing frustrated customers in front of everyone with style and grace. Meanwhile, car rental customers simply return late... by hours or days. Those cars were spoken for people - BRING THEM BACK WHEN YOU SAY YOU ARE GOING TO! Sometimes your auto is earmarked for a specific individual, who shows up on time only to find that you are hanging onto the car without ever communicating your inentions. Meanwhile the staff at this branch are engaging with those waiting, hustling to get cold water and popsicles for those waiting. (Watch Seinfeld episode about car rental ) We have rented here about 12 times over the past 2 years and there is always a problem with no (clean) cars at our scheduled pick up time (on the Enterprise reservation). I rented Easter weekend and the weekend of the eclipse, they were so jam packed and over booked ( not their fault but corporates ) but they still made sure I got a vehicle and they answered the phone every chance they got and took the time to talk to me. Cancelled my husband's reservation because he didn't answer the phone when they called him in the middle of a weekday while he's at work and then proceeded to not leave a voicemail???? He's a teacher. He can't be talking on the phone in the middle of class... They claimed he did not have a voicemail set up but he does??? I called him myself and had him decline the call to check and it went straight to voicemail. So thanks for lying to his face I guess??? This is absolutely ridiculous. I had a reservation made with my insurance do to my car being in an accident. I had a reservation made for 12:00 they told me they would come pick me up do to not having a vehicle. 11:30 rolls around and I'm getting ready expecting to be picked up soon. Now it's 12:00. I called was on hold for about 15-20 minutes finally got through to enterprise they told me they didn't have the vehicle available. How is this possible when I had made a prior arrangement. I was told to call back at 4 as that's when they get their vehicles back. I called at 3:45 as I know that getting through is impossible and I'd be on hold for awhile. I have been on hold for 43 minutes. So no answer. I gave up and they they are about to close. So unprofessional. If I didn't have any other choice I'd switch to another rental company. Very irresponsible and unprofessional! Please steer clear. We need a rental car while our car is at a body shop following an accident. Enterprise is a partner with our insurance so we decided to choose them (specifically this location), a decision we now greatly regret. 1. This Enterprise location scheduled to pick up my husband at the body shop at 10am today. My husband called them at 9am to remind them - they said ok. Noted, the body shop is only 4 miles away. 10:10am - no one showed up, my husband called again and they said they would send someone "NOW". Another 40mins went by, finally my husband got picked up at 10:50am. But that's only the start. 2. When arrived at the office, they said the car my husband reserved IN ADVANCE was not available (reason: getting oil changed). They told him to wait 1 hour for this car which was impossible because at this point he was already at least 1 hour late for work due to late pickup. Then they offered to pay ONE WAY Uber ride to his office but my husband will have to pay on his own for the Uber ride back to Enterprise to pick up the rental car. Why would he have to pay for their mistake? On top of all these, there was no other car available on site that my husband could choose, other than an Audi that is an extra $15/day that my husband has to pay out of pocket since that amount is ABOVE the daily allowance by our insurance (around $50). Left with no option my husband had to take the Audi to go to work and after work today, he will have to make ANOTHER trip back to Enterprise to exchange for the original car he reserved, while having to pay $15+ extra for the Audi despite only using it for less than half a day and despite the fact that this whole thing was due to Enterprise fault not being able to fulfill customer order in the first place. They did not take responsibility for their mistake, let alone compensating for the hours my husband wasting dealing with this whole mess! read more

The service is not good. They do not take care of your needs with urgency. If it was up to me, I would not go through this car rental agency, but don't have a choice when it came to my insurance. Very unreliable, And that's for the majority of the enterprise rental cars in the Houston area. I've had a car reservation and been waiting, but Every branch that I was calling in the Houston area mentioned of this alleged car shortage. Is that what they tell everyone who has an insurance claim? Again very very lousy. And specifically, for this location in another location, I believe Fondren, they have had me on the runaround. From having the wrong number in their system, though my mechanic contacted the shop and looked up myself and him using my phone number, they left me an alleged voicemail on today... My phone number was never out of the system, yet I called and they had a completely different number, not even related to that of the policyholder in the system. I call BS. Also they tend not to answer phones, and send you straight on hold, and hold for a substantial amount of time. I saw it myself when I was in the Fondren office. The gentleman looks at the phone as it kept ringing. Just I said, lack of urgency, or care. Having an insurance claim and a Shop involved does an expedite your process. You would think he would have an advantage, but you do not. I just cannot wait until this is over, yet it can't begin because I'm waiting on a vehicle to "come in" so my car can be fixed. I had an appointment and LaToya basically said "my bad." "Cars are in the shop Getting oil changed... "no follow up the reminder of the day. I'm really thinking about driving two hours just to get a rental car at a different enterprise to drop it off in Houston. This is too much for an already stressful situation. I had a problem with the car contract and tried to call the rental location where I picked up the car to let them know about it. You can't get in touch with them calling the local number. I rent from here often. First they tried to charge a $30 pick up fee that is not stated nor conveyed which they agreed to wave. They were two and a half hours late from reservation. Then they said they couldn't put initial hold on two cards also not conveyed and not a problem in the past. Agreed to do it first thing in the morning if needed only one form of payment and couldn't commit to be here first thing in the morning and said they had already gone out of their way! What? That they could give me a window of two hours knowing my initial reservation was for today! The lack of customer service is alarming. To top it off was told to step out of the vehicle because he had already been here to long! What? You were two hours late! This is unacceptable and needs to be reported to all executives! My rental car experience with this branch was for a rental while my car was in the shop, so paid for by my insurance company. TLDR - charged for days I didn't have it for, sneaked a charge onto my credit card Pickup - I called and scheduled a pickup for 4:30pm the day before. The shop called them at 4:30 to remind them, said someone was "on their way". The shop is 1 mile from this location. I didn't get picked up until 2 more calls at 5:05pm. Car pickup was fine, computer had to be rebooted to work but otherwise fairly standard. I dropped the car off at the shop on a Fri, even called Enterprise to tell them it was dropped off. They said "yeah yeah, we'll deal with it when we pick it up". They wouldn't even take my name. Flash forward 11 days and I get a charge to my credit card so I call. Wait on hold for another 15 min (this is how long I waited every time I called the branch), he says, oh that's taxes b/c your insurance only covers $50/day and the rental with taxes is more. I said now wait a minute, why was I put in a car that was over my limit (they had given me a large SUV, I didn't request any specific car). Back on hold to talk to the manager who says, oh, that's a mistake, we'll refund you. None of this btw, had come via email or call, I got it as an alert from my credit card. I then get a copy of the bill via email and they charged 3 MORE DAYS to my insurance than I had the car for. I've notified my insurance company to dispute it. What terrible ethics this branch has, I should have listened to my insurance and gone with Hertz. read more

The staff, particularly the Assistant Manager, Bruce, provided us with prompt, courteous and professional service. I have rented numerous times with Enterprise in Texas and this is THE FIRST TIME someone has actually picked me up. Despite having a busy front office and a constantly ringing phone, Bruce made me feel like I was his most important customers and he never rushed me . I was not the only customer who felt this way - another patron commented on how courteous and polite the 610/Shepherd staff were in comparison to other locations and encouraged them to "keep up the good work." Although I work only two blocks away from the Enterprise downtown Houston Hyatt location, I am seriously contemplating using the 610 and Shepherd location more often as Bruce really made us feel like my patronage was valued. It's a car rental place. Not much to say. I had a car accident, and needed a rental car. They came to pick me up from the body shop. Set me up in a cute little Red Kia Forte, and away I went. I brought the car back and they drove me back to the body shop, except this time they had someone drive me who had to ask me for directions. Seeing as I'm notoriously bad at directions this could have ended quite badly but this time I knew where I was going. Prices were reasonable. I think insurance was billed about $300.00+ total for around 14 days. Don't have many other rental experiences to compare to. read more

Pretty bad experience at this specific location. I got rear ended while driving the rental car. 1. No one cared about the passengers of the vehicle, just the vehicle 2. All insurance info was given for the at fault person. This office does not communicate this to the damage claims office, so any communication to this office is pointless. The damage claims unit admitted that this is an internal problem they need to work on I don't recommend doing business at this location. Short version: Poor selection, smoked out cars, and wouldn't pick me up. Long version: This location didn't make picking me up from the body shop an option, so I ended up having to walk two miles in the hot sun to get to there. When I arrived, the employees were slow, would not acknowledge customers, and despite all the signage about mandatory mask wearing, some of the employees would not wear masks around customers (I guess they thought a neck cover was good enough). As for vehicles, this location basically offered minivans and a Dodge Ram that was too big for my garage. As an F-150 driver on an insurance claim, a vehicle of comparable size and style would have been nice, but since I spent so much time walking to the location, I didn't have much time to be choosy and took the first minivan they offered and headed to work. It was immediately clear they make no effort to remediate cigarette smoke from their vehicles. The vehicle should have been pulled from inventory and treated - I mean it's not like they didn't have 10 other minivans available to rent. Sure, they offered to exchange the vehicle if I could manage to find the time to make it back there before they closed, but I had to work late thanks to all the time I spent walking to Enterprise. I only went to Enterprise because my insurance made me, and this location is exactly why I never use Enterprise voluntarily. read more

Be careful that they don't charge you a fee for your spouse. Two different employees insisted that we had to pay a fee because my husband and I are covered under different auto insurance policies, despite the corporate Enterprise office saying there should not be a fee. I received a phone call on from Enterprise on Monday night confirming my rental for Tuesday morning at 8:00 a.m. When I arrived at 8:07 a.m. I was ignored by the Branch Manager (BM) who was eating her breakfast at the counter. Two customer's walked in about 4- minutes after me, and was immediately greeted by their first name. Seeing that they had an established relationship with the BM, I stayed calm, until she proceeding with servicing them. She assured that they were there earlier in the morning :-(. Ten minutes later, she proceeding to process my rental, letting me know that a Ford Fusion was being cleaned. After 30-minutes more, I was still w/o a vehicle, and two other familiar faces walked in and was given a vehicle in less than 10-minutes. Identical to another yelp reviewer, "as I watched the situation unfold I began to deduce this was a case of discrimination, I would not be receiving service. It was clear the color of my skin was making a difference in the need to assist me." Finally, after an hour, I asked, "what the status on the Ford Fusion?" BM stated that they had to change my vehicle and I was given another car. After completing and signing all documents on her iPad, I was given the keys to my rental. After putting all of my belongings in the car, setting up the blue tooth/GPS, and putting the car in DRIVE, the BM ran out in front of the car and told me I couldn't take the car, because the lady who the car was reserved for just showed up. I left w/o a rental. A complaint was field with cooperate and I was given a reference number, however after following up with cooperate countless times, nothing has been done, so this may be the overall energy of this branch. If anyone with a shared experience wants to participate in a Think-Tank, message me. Update! So after 196-days from my original complaint, I received several system generated messages filibustering my expressed concern. Twenty-five days following my yelp review, I received 6 templated e-mails from Enterprise's Customer Service department, citing my original reference number but no solution.
