My car broke down on a short vacation, i called for a rental and lucky they had a vehicle for me. when i arrived i was addressed by name and Ryan Parisi and Alex Davis greeted me and my daughter so nicely the stress of a breakdown was lightened. they were so nice , explained everything so well and made the transaction very easy. they are both gems in the car rental world as i have encountered others not so good, keep these young men as they are an asset to this location. read more

Alex was super helpful and courteous. The car I rented had a slow leak in one of the tires, which I filled a couple of times, and when I called Alex he put me in a different car the following day, and gave me a break on the gas because I filled the tire. I have been a customer of Enterprise locally off and on for 20 years! They have always treated me like a Queen, even when I was a struggling single mompreneur. They, like many businesses now, are often understaffed and overbooked, but the managers Nick and David, are always in a good mood and manage to take care of everyone. Noah and Lexington are two of the guys that work there and they are also professional, friendly and super attentive. I know I could get a cheaper rental if I just went over the bridge to Beverly, but the price I pay to rent from these guys in town is an excellent value for the service I get. The cars are always clean and smell good and they have a good variety usually to choose from. They also pick me up and drop me off when needed. I can't say enough about Enterprise Rent-A-Car here in Gloucester, especially under the leadership of Nick and David. I recommend them without hesitation. read more

it's been nearly two months since we had a terrible experience at this me Gloucester Enterprise my wife was nearly assaulted by the manager who dove into the car and grabbed keys off the seat while we were installing our son's infant car seat. We had rented the car and done all the paperwork but he said it didn't matter because he was going to rent it to someone who called that morning and was coming in later. So unprofessional. Enterprise Customer Service replied to a negative review saying "we would like to look into this further. Please email care@enterprise.com with your contact information and rental information and all the details so we can look into the situation." I did that and nearly two months later still no one from Enterprise has contacted me. It's just PR spam, watch they will post the same "send us an email at care@" response to this review. After being in an auto accident in town, I needed a rental and chose Enterprise. They immediately took care of me, but did not have the replacement that I wanted. I took what was available, and the next day they were at my house with the upgrade. It took two months for my car to be repaired and, during that time, Enterprise was very attentive and responsive to my needs. We were going to attend a funeral about 70 miles away in Rhode Island, so I rented a car for 1 day at Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Gloucester MA. The agent walked together to the car. Like other times I expected the gas tank to full. When I mentioned that the gas tank was only about half full, the agent told me that he had put $25 worth in the tank earlier that day and said just return it with the tank half full. I got gas just before returning it. I thought 5 gallons would do it, but the tank gauge was much less than half, so I added more, again still not enough, so I added 3 gallons more to half full. When I drove off after 2 blocks the gauge moved to full! I paid $52.00 for the gas! I returned the car and explained this to the agent and when asked for a $25 credit, the agent said there was nothing he could do about it. I felt that I'd been set up because the agent intentionally didn't fill the tank before renting it to me. My protest was futile. read more

Went there today after being quoted 35 yesterday to 51 and the man said he never said that... my car had to go in the shop to be fixed and I travel to elders homes to help them now they will be without care.. bunch of scam artists...never again!! read more

We were in need of a rental because my husband's vehicle was in an accident. We first had a small SUV which was VERY dirty and had such a strong smell of cigarette smoke that I had to keep the windows open over night. We called Enterprise the first day to complain and were told they would let management know. Thankfully, that car had a recall so we had to return it. The next vehicle was a Dodge Journey which wasn't nearly as dirty, but far from clean. The windshield on both cars was so bad I had to clean them, the inside of both cars needed to be vacuumed and the first car had trash in it. When my husband called to say we'd be returning the car he was told that we were paid in full, which didn't seem right, however, our card was charged over $275. I hope we never have to use a rental again, but if we do, it won't be Enterprise of Gloucester. read more

I come to Cape Ann a couple of times a year, and always rent at this location, because it's much cheaper than at the airport. I typically book online several weeks in advance, and usually lock an excellent rate. Their staff has been consistently friendly and helpful; and there is rarely a line. If I am in a hurry to get to the airport on the day I check out, I call in advance to let them know, so they can help me get on my way quickly. And they do. On one occasion they didn't have the car I had reserved, so they offered me a free upgrade. I personally prefer driving a smaller car, so they arranged to exchange my bigger car for a smaller one as soon as one got in. I have only had positive experiences here. I miss Holly who used to work at this location, and is now based somewhere else, but everyone else (David, Jacob, and co) has also been kind, professional, and eager to help. I would not have thought of writing a review, but as I was looking up the office's phone number this morning to get picked up for a new rental, I was sad to notice the 1-star reviews they received in April of 2015 and April of 2017, and I wanted to offer my different experience, based on at least a dozen rentals over the last six years. People are more likely to take the time to complain, than make the time to appreciate, so I thought I should weigh in :) read more

I have always used Enterprise to rent my cars. Recently both my daughter and I had to rent cars. My daughter being the first time that she had to rent a car due to an accident. Being her first experience having to rent she went with Enterprise because I always do. Her first experience was not the best. First thing the car she got had tire uses. She was not very happy when she had to bring it to Midas to have this fixed. No, it didn't cost her anything, but when you rent a car you would think they check the car over before they rent it to you. I was surprised but said I'm sure it doesn't usually happen. Well I had to rent a car last week I had issues with the car I rented. First the remote's battery was low. I was a bit nervous where it was keyless I wouldn't be able to get (not used to that where my car is older and have to use a key) also the sonar system that the car had was not working right it keep buzzing and turning off. Very annoying when you driving down the highway and you hear an alert when you don't know the car. When I told the sales rep took my information but really didn't want to hear my complaints. He didn't offer a credit for my inconvenience. I was also very surprised that when I initially rented the car that they took a $250 hold on my debt card (I'm used to that it was $300) but that was all they did until you returned the car then they would take the actual rental fee from the 300 and put the difference back on your card. This time they took the $250 plus the entire cost of the rental as well. Wow I think this will be the last time I rent with Enterprise. Hope this helps you decide where you will rent a car.
