Like... seriously? Two minutes and I'm just out of luck? So I just stood there. There were other people too, all kind of confused, just waiting around because nobody said anything. Time just kept going and nobody came back, no update, nothing. It ended up stretching all the way to 1:15 which is actually insane for a "lunch break." At 1:14 (yes, one minute before they're supposed to be back), I went up to the window just to see if anyone was even there. The lady inside literally looked at me, nodded her head no, laughed, and then went right back to watching something on her phone like I didn't exist. No "we'll be right back," no apology, nothing. Then, she continued to watch stuff on her phone until 1:27 I've never felt more like a complete inconvenience to a business I'm literally trying to give money to. The whole thing felt unprofessional and honestly just rude. If you're going to run a place like this, at least acknowledge the people standing right in front of you. Would not recommend at all.

We were headed to an event an hour north and had picked up all members of our party. There were six of us in the van. The van made it 15 miles up the freeway and the engine shut off. We quickly pulled over to the shoulder however, our location was not safe. We notified the budget office that the check engine light was on and the vehicle would not start at about 10: 39 a.m.. She advised us to let it rest for 30 minutes and try to start it. When this failed to work, she told us to call roadside assistance because the car was already under contract and she could not help us. When we called roadside assistance, The representative told us that we would have to wait inside the car until the tow truck company. She threatened us that if we didn't wait with the car we would be responsible for any damage!!! Are you We were not in safe location in a disabled vehicle on the side of the highway. The temperature was 95° and even higher in the car because it had no power. Suggesting that we endanger our lives by sitting in the disabled vehicle on the side of the highway until the tow truck arrives and threatening that we'd be responsible for damage to the car is absolutely unacceptable and downright egregious! We finally got a text alert that the car had been picked up at 2:45 pm--over 4 hours later! The semi trucks were driving quickly next to the shoulder, shaking the whole vehicle each time one passed. One of our passengers had a panic attack and Budget was not sending help our way so we had to have several friends come to pick us up because our party was too large for one vehicle. We were stranded on the side of the highway for an hour waiting! When we finally got to our destination, we had a friend drive us to the Temecula office at 2 o'clock to try pick up another vehicle. They would not give us a vehicle because the tow truck company had not yet picked up the disabled vehicle on the side of the freeway!! Our whole morning and afternoon was wasted. We missed our first reservation and incurred fuel charges for our friends to pick us up and take us the rest of the way to our event 2 vehicles, from there we incurred almost $200 in additional expenses as we had to get Ubers all the way back home. No one checked to see if we were okay. We were not even refunded $140 our rental expense for the disabled vehicle! AND they charged us for a replacement vehicle that they would not give us due to the delayed towing service!!!This is NOT the customer experience we were expecting!
