Unfortunately, the car rental center is not inside the main terminal, so you do have to take a shuttle to the rental car area, which is about a 10-minute ride. When we landed, there was a long line, and it took us about 10-15 minutes to make the queue for the shuttle. Once we got to the rental car center, customer service was great. We had already checked in online and had our own insurance, so the process was pretty smooth. The customer service rep was really nice and even cracked some funny jokes. A few minutes later, we were in our car a white Mustang convertible in great shape and very clean. The only thing I wish they had done was give us a quick demo on how to close and lock the top, because we couldn't figure it out at first and had to watch a YouTube tutorial. Returning the vehicle was a breeze, and I got an email receipt within minutes. Overall, a smooth rental experience and a good choice for our San Diego trip!

That could result in a very expensive car rental but for all the right reasons. The vehicle performed very well and was in like new condition even with 31,000 miles on it. Upon returning the vehicle in San Diego Anthony C immediately acknowledged and engaged us positively with fantastic hospitality and he went out of his way to show he is invested as an employee delivering quality service and result. Going through as much traveling as my wife and I undertook across this great country from the east coast to spend a few days on the west coast and western US Anthony C left us feeling even more glad that we did this rental from Alamo through Costco which was our first time doing so. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Now it's the red eye home on Frontier airline back to the daily life we enjoy being Americans in the golden age of America 250.

    I rented a car from this service through Turo for nearly a month. I rarely ever leave a review but…read morethis case is worth disclosing. About a week in, I realized the physical vehicle registration was not in the vehicle which is 1) legally required to drive (as well as common knowledge to anyone who has ever operated a vehicle...) and 2) clearly stated as a requirement without ambiguity in the Turo policies (https://help.turo.com/en_us/incident-information-card-SJJELVe4c). Given I was driving the vehicle multiple times per day, I reached out to Shane to ask where the copy of the registration was and, if not in the vehicle, see if I could get at least a virtual copy / picture for the remainder of my trip in case I was pulled over. Shane proceeded to call me and immediately question why I would possibly need that document. I tried to explain that it is a basic legal requirement / common knowledge and that the Turo policy (which I sent to Shane) also requires it. His responses made it very clear that this was not going to suffice and that I was simply mistaken that this was something he needed to provide. I made the decision to hang up the call because I could tell I would need to document this in writing in order for anything to proceed. That was a mistake on my end as that escalated tensions (which I later apologized for) After hanging up, Shane called me back multiple times and I eventually answered. He began accusing me of things completely unrelated to my one simple ask of the registration... stating that I "turned off his GPS tracking device in the vehicle" (which I did not do). He then, while objectively wrong on the issue at hand, verbatim said "listen buddy, let me educate you on how turo works..." and was trying to flex that he had been a host for multiple years and repeatedly mentioned he had "multiple range rovers on the service" as if that were somehow making him correct on a basic issue. I am not pretending to have no fault here... I responded to the escalation with rising tension as well. I eventually gave an ultimatum that we would contact Turo support to resolve the issue or I would return the car early because the point I kept making that I did not care about his experience as a host, I just needed the one document was not resonating. Sure enough, we contacted Turo support and they quickly confirmed that having a copy of the registration indeed was a requirement and he would need to do so. Shane then sent me a picture of the registration (with his address blacked out) which is exactly what I requested at the beginning of our call... long story short, Turo settled the dispute, confirmed Shane was incorrect and Shane sent the original ask. I then sent a message to Shane apologizing for the heated exchange and noted that I did not plan to seek a refund nor submit a negative review after receiving the registration. Following the trip, Shane decided to leave a childish 1 star review on my Turo all for having one simple, legally-required request. I am now publishing the sequence to warn any future clients of dealing with this individual.
