I needed a car on very short notice and this place was close. I put in my reservation online and when I got to the office it was less than 10 minutes and I was in my rental. Most of the workers in the office were wearing masks. I needed to extend my rental for a day but couldn't find any contact information on the car's key ring. So I came in and talked to someone to add a day. No problem. The area is congested and I didn't know that I should just pull up as close as possible to the garage door on Eastern and that it would automatically open. Instead, I had to hunt around for a parking spot when I went to return the car. Otherwise, convenient and decent service, okay price. read more

Do not go through any tolls in rental! They use a company called Highway Tolls Administration, which sounds like a government organization, but is just a private company that charges exorbitant fees on top of your tolls and keeps charging your credit card for months after your rental period ends. I appreciate the staff here for making my weekend excursions possible. I rented a car from here on Saturday morning. I showed up around 10:00 AM, and I drove out of the place with my rental car in a matter of 15 minutes. I did have a reservation I set one day in advance. Although they didn't have the car I wanted, they set me up with a Jeep. The Jeep was a smooth ride, and thankfully so. I was on the road for about 16 hours, with a few breaks in between. I did not have any issue with the car throughout the entire trip. I went from Baltimore, to Appomattox, to Virginia Beach, up the Chesapeake Bridge/Tunner, up to Dover, and around the top of the Chesapeake Bay back into Baltimore. Quite a drive! And one that was made possible by the outstanding work this Enterprise does. I stopped by to drop off the car this morning. I got in about 15 minutes before closing time. I was checked out, no problem. The customer service rep, George, gave me a ride back in spite of the fact that they were closed already. After chatting with him, I realized he's a vet like me. He also lived in California for a while. He's a cool guy, if you come here he can take care of you. read more

I made a reservation here to pick up a car at 10 AM and arrived to pick it up around 11:45. When I got here, I was informed that they had given up the vehicle because I had not arrived within an hour of the reservation time. No one notified me of this policy and no one called to ask if we were coming. They just gave up the reservation. The employee who informed me of this was as unhelpful as is typical of this location. He told me there was nothing he could do and suggested getting a car the following day, which was not helpful in any way. He did not try to think of anything else that might be better. I called Enterprise's main line and spoke to someone much more helpful who found another car at a nearby location. If the employee in the office had made any kind of an effort to look into an alternative like that, it would have gone a long way toward making up for giving away the car I had reserved without warning. This is not the first problem I've had with this office. The employees here regularly do not pick up the phone, and I have had problems with the cars they've given me (including a flat tire upon pickup) before. The employee on the help line and the staff at a different location were much more helpful -- the office where I got a substitute reservation also had a shortage of cars, but went the extra mile and sorted it out for me. It seems like this particular office is just a bad apple. read more

FANTASTIC service, authentic people, easy rental, nice cars, great price. They WILL pick you up, or reimburse you for LYFT or Taxi. They make it easy. Tiana Fernandez is an angel who picked up the phone when I called and helped me figure out how I could rent a car to drive to take my 83 year old aunt to lunch in Fredericksburg, VA. and then again to Tyson's, VA. I was in town for an architecture design conference and had recently had foot surgery, so was on crutches. I had factored in an extra day at the beginning and end of my trip, not knowing how my foot would hold up during the long days of meetings and seminars. Thanks to Tiana's wise words and the absolute ease of the process at Enterprise, I not only rented the car for a day's adventure with my aunt, but felt so confident that at the end of my trip to drive all the way back to Virginia (Tyson's Corner) to see my favorite cousin for lunch, then hop back to Baltimore to drop the car off and catch my plane for Texas. Sometimes people on the phone just do not take the patient time to really understand what someone needs and wants. When I initially called, just to see if this was even possible, Tiana really listened and had me see a trip to Fredericksburg was do-able. Four days later when I called again to discuss renting another car on my last day, she really got into my world, helped me see that driving to the airport myself and leaving the rental car at the airport may save me a LYFT to the airport, but it would cost me $50 extra with Enterprise and - more importantly - I would have to crutch halfway across a parking lot to get to the van to the airport. "Why not just bring the car back to us and have your LYFT driver take you right to the front door of the airport?" Honestly, without Tiana, I probably would not have rented either car. Thanks to Tiana Fernandez and her kindness and thoroughness in total service to me, the customer, I now consider myself a loyal Enterprise fan; when in the Baltimore area I cannot think of renting from anyone else! Important - if you drop your car off after hours, there is a slot at the entry garage about 20 feet to the left of the front entry door. Make sure to know where this is prior to leaving, when it is light out, as the area to leave your car at night is on the other side of the building. read more

I travel quite a bit for work and rent cars somewhat regularly and have been exclusively using Enterprise, but after my experience today, I am going to change up my regular car rental service. Last week I booked a sedan to drive up to NJ for Easter. Yesterday (4/14) I get a phone call from one of the guys at this location asking to confirm my reservation. He asked if I was still going to pick up at 8AM and I replied, "actually that sounds pretty early, mind if I come in by 10AM" and the employee said sure I'll mark that in our system. The next day, I get a phone call at 9AM asking if I was going to be picking up for my 8AM reservation. I tell them that I'm on my way. When I arrive I'm informed that the only option that they have left is a mini van. I tell them that I do not want a mini van and that I reserved a sedan and they inform me that they're sorry this is all they have left. After a few minutes or debate I was offered a Ford SUV (who would have guessed they did have a different car once they realized I was annoyed), but I was pretty pissed off at this point and told them that I would take my business elsewhere. I did remain cordial while arguing and it was pretty apparent that the one employee just did not care, he offered up an apathetic OK sorry about that. Take your business elsewhere. read more

We rent a car from here pretty much every weekend and it's usually a good experience. This last time we went there, the car we got had Bluetooth issues and we went to discuss this with the employee there and he was probably the worst customer experience I've ever had. In addition to implying that getting a car with better "features" was not something we could afford, he also implied from his words that we were probably trying to get an upgrade. It was horrible. We dealt with two more employees the same day and they were so much nicer even though they could not sort the technical issues of the car either. read more

Almost every time I have rented from this location there has been some sort of issue. From being given cars that are dirty on the interior (stains on the seats, crumbs, trash), to showing up for my reservation and waiting almost an hour to get the car, to most recently picking up a car for a 400+ mile trip and being given a car with a 1/4 tank of gas. I understand that Enterprise doesn't guarantee a full tank, but a 1/4 tank is ridiculous. This required me to stop and have to fill up the car before even getting started with my trip. Been using Hertz for business purposes but was using this Enterprise location for weekend cars since 2 months now since the Hertz location in the city is closed on weekends. But 2 weeks back, the redhair bearded guy they have there provided an experience that made us switch to the Hertz Hilton Hotel location for the first time. And definitely not switching back now, since the hertz location is closer anyway to my place and definitely has better cars. Figured out how to drop off at after hours which was the main concern of mine anyway for that location. Enterprise incident - When told that the car being provided to us had a really antique dashboard system (after we struggled with it for more than an hour trying to make it work), he suggested "we take the escalade for 300$ and get everything". Felt quite condescending, especially considering that I take rental from them pretty much every weekend. Anyway, like I said - switched to Hertz local location and not switching back to Enterprise anytime soon. Do want to add that all the past service people have usually been quite amicable. There was a rough start to my rental this time around. I walked in and had stood in line for over an hour - they were busy, which was reasonable. Then I was incurred a young driver's fee that was $5 more per day than was listed on my confirmation email and their website. When I asked about it, the gentleman said he would address it with the manager. I still kept this in mind as nothing seemed to have changed in my pending credit card charge. The day I dropped off the vehicle, I got the $5 extra a day taken off when I approached a different rep who checked me out. The entire process this time around was less than 10 minutes. I've had to use this location twice, and both times was greeted by friendly faces and extremely fast service. They're also very good about getting back to you if you're searching for an available vehicle in a time crunch. Parking in the area isn't the best, but they have a garage to the east of the walk up entrance for their customers, so you never have to worry about feeding a meter or getting a ticket while in their office. **UPDATE** 3/14/17 4 stars to 1 Enterprise is losing my loyal business to Zipcar due to crappy customer service . I spent upwards of $5K last year in rentals with enterprise last year; this one and the one at The Sheraton Hotel. That's 30-70 rentals, mind you. You would think that as a regular the staff would be more accommodating in times of need, but no. They shut me down and treated me like a stranger on the street when their credit card system had a flaw. I won't go into the details, but the staff here has a terrible attitude. Yawning in front of guests, 0 friendliness during the interactions.. it's all "policy and business" with them. There are a few exceptions, but mostly the staff just looks like they are ready to go home and not deal with anything... I spend the same amount of money for a zipcar as I would a rental with them, and don't have to deal with rude service and long wait times? Yes please. read more

Zero f***ing stars. I've rented many cars from them with no problem, then their policy changes and only people with a FULL license can rent. I'm told this a week after JUST renting a car the prior week! They did not inform me of any policy changes till I took off work for a dentist appointment, and walked FAR from my house to pick up the car. Yes unfortunately anyone over 25 has to keep a provisional for 18 months! So now we're excluded from being able to drive because of that. No matter how long you've had ur provisional license for! I was impressed with everything about this location. The physical location is excellent - close to everything downtown, but not so close that it's hard to park or that traffic is a factor when traveling to/from. Jack was the Enterprise employee who took care of me today. He processed my return and gave me a ride back to my hotel. He struck me as an excellent employee that enhanced my customer experience with his professionalism and friendly conversation. It's hard to write a review on a rental car location unless it's a negative experience...this was anything but that. I wanted to rent a Nissan Leaf electric vehicle and read Enterprise's long statement about wanted to promote new and green technology. I went on the website and found their statement that this rental location had plug-in cars. It turned out to be completely bogus. They never had them and don't anticipate having them. When I point out this to the sales clerk that was helping me, he said simply, "they just put that on the website, but really we don't have them." When I told him they should correct that since it was wasting customer's time, he seemed completely uninterested. Maybe they have these cars somewhere, but I was really turned off by this obvious phoney commitment and lack of desire to help the customer. read more

Very courteous, quick service. Got dropped off afterwards as well. I want to say my experience is closer to 4 stars, but compared to other bad experiences I've had at rental car companies, 5 stars. There was one time where one of the staff told me that I was taking the car with a full tank when it was in actuality closer to 1/8 less than a full tank. I was in a rush, so I just let it go. When I returned the car, one of the staff members asked me how my experience was and I mentioned to him that everything was great, except for this situation. He was very kind and comped me some gas for the next time I rent from them. Another time, I was asked if I want "basic" coverage on the car, and from the way it was pitched to me, I couldn't tell if that meant I would pay extra or if "basic" just meant whatever comes with the baseline car rental price. When he gave me the bill, it was indeed about $40 more than what I had rented the car for online, so I asked him to take the coverage off. I know he was just doing his job, but offering me the basic coverage without making any indications of how much it cost or what it means seemed a little sneaky. read more

I left my handicap tag in the rental. I drove an hour into Baltimore to pick it up. They handled me someone else tag. Didn't notice until I back to DC that the numbers was off. Called back and the "Manager" says well the same way you made a mistake and lefted it in the car, is the same way that my employee gave you the wrong one???? Wow I mean all I can say is WOW. DO NOT RENT FROM ENTERPRISE ESPECIALLY BALTIMORE LOCATION! When I rented a car for vacation I pointed out an area on the bottom of the door, and was told by the manager that it was just "normal wear and tear". Since I don't rent cars on a regular basis I took his word for it. When I returned the car today, after it had virtually sat for a week in front of a vacation condo, that SAME area was now deemed caused by me. Not only do they want to charge me my security deposit of $200 but demanded that I pay my insurance deductible of $500 immediately. Mind you this great "damage" is an area that can be easily compounded out. I have photos of it. I spoke to my insurance company which agrees that this is obviously a scam they are running. Do yourself a favor, DO NOT RENT FROM ENTERPRISE! They will charge you $700 for damage that you did NOT do! The location on Eastern Ave - always have staff available and always is willing to work with you - I had no problem making the reservation online. I called the evening before my rental was to start to confirm and everything was a go. They picked me up at my house and brought me to the rental office and boom, boom in no time I was out the door. I needed the car for an extra day and called the 800 number and they were helpful as well since it was after hours for the office. This is the 2nd time I have needed a rental car and I have had no problems with them at all - will continue to use them and have already and will continue to recommend this location! read more
