Exzema flare as a result of being prescribed a post-op pain med that I told the surgeon I was allergic to. He completely disregarded it.

Dr. Jeremy Lough disregarded my charted allergies to the post-op pain med he prescribed and said no to me and my husband's verbal request for an alternative for pain management. As a result, I suffered from an exzema flare which left me with open sores, bleeding, and oozing for 2 weeks. The Cancer & Dermatology Institute on Moana gave me an emergency steroid injection as an intervention. This could have been prevented had Dr. Lough reviewed my allergies in my medical history as well as what my husband and I told him as I was in the pre-surgery area on a gurney.

I came here due to referral from my doctor. When I called to request an appointment there was an at least six week wait so I took the first available appointment which was about eight weeks out from my original doctor's appointment. I received an email and text reminder about my appointment and was urged to fill out the questionnaire online. However, upon attempting to do this, I learned that a patient must have a login but there was no way to register online. I arrived 15 minutes early before my appointment time and was able to fill out the required paperwork/questionnaire in person. The receptionist was pleasant and seemed friendly. I waited for about 10 minutes until I was called in and waited another a few minutes for the doctor to arrive once I settled in the examination room. My doctor was Dr. Andrew Tomlinson and he was super nice. He explained what my symptoms were and gave recommendations going forward. Luckily for me, I did not have anything serious or too pressing. The checkout counter clerk was also pleasant and she was happy to provide assistance to a couple of my requests.

Nose telescope.. lucky it's not for me!

He proceeded to scope me after I had said that I had already been scoped before. This could have been avoided, and it was never explained that this was going to be a significant extra charge. Josh had also denied me surgery - 3 other ENTS afterward had all highly recommended surgery after being significantly more thorough than Josh. Due to Josh's lackadaisical/rude attitude and plain laziness, I now am unable to get the surgery I needed and after I met my deductible. I now am left with a reset on my insurance due to his grotesque negligence, but even after working with the kind office manager, Crystal, he will not budge on removing the charge he placed on my account. I truly do not understand the praise this boy is receiving after the very impatient and heartless attitude that I received/witnessed. Please go anywhere else if you are able - I'd be concerned of misdiagnosis//missing critical aspects of your health due to Josh's attitude problem.

I originally started seeing…read moreDr. Mathis, and I cannot say enough good things about the care he provided before his retirement. For nearly four years, I went undiagnosed with a rare brain tumor that affected my vestibulocochlear nerve, ultimately causing significant hearing loss, balance problems, and CHRONIC dizziness. After years of searching for answers, I became so discouraged with the healthcare system that I simply stopped looking. I convinced myself that living with constant dizziness was just going to be my new normal. Ironically, I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Mathis because I thought I had impacted earwax. My hearing had declined significantly, and I assumed that was the cause. After examining me and completing a hearing test, he told me there wasn't any ear wax, but he was very concerned about the amount of hearing loss I had for someone who was only 29 years old. Instead of stopping there, he kept asking questions. I told him that for the previous four years I had been dealing with facial pain, headaches, dizziness, hearing loss, and other unexamined and unexplained neurological symptoms. Those questions ultimately led to my diagnosis. Dr. Mathis referred me to a specialist in San Diego, where I underwent a craniotomy to remove the tumor. Thankfully, it was benign, but I was left with complete hearing loss in my left ear. Since then, my focus has shifted to protecting my remaining hearing and exploring permanent hearing rehabilitation options such as a BAHA or cochlear implant. Unfortunately, Dr. Mathis retired before we reached that stage of my journey, but before he left the practice, he referred me to Dr. Foyt. I recently had my first appointment with Dr. Foyt, and I left very impressed with his knowledge and experience, and more importantly, hopeful about the next steps of my journey. I think it's important for patients to understand that Dr. Foyt is a neurotologist, an incredibly specialized subspecialty within otolaryngology. His practice is focused on complex disorders of the ear, hearing, balance, and the skull base. Specialists with his level of training are not common. In fact, after my diagnosis, I had to travel hundreds of miles to receive care from someone with similar expertise. Having someone with that background practicing here in Northern Nevada is an incredible asset to our community. His approach was pragmatic, efficient, and exactly what I personally appreciate. My appointment was completed in well under an hour, and I left feeling that every minute was well spent. At this point in my journey, I don't need someone to spend an hour rediscovering my diagnosis. I need someone who understands my condition, listens to my concerns, and helps me determine the best path forward. That's exactly what Dr. Foyt did. He focused on the issues that mattered, answered my questions, and helped me map out the next steps in my care. Before meeting with me, Dr. Foyt had already reviewed Dr. Mathis' records. While I wouldn't expect any new physician to know every detail of my complex medical history on day one, he came into the appointment prepared, listened carefully, understood my goals, and worked with me to discuss the next steps in my care. After years of being told my symptoms were anxiety, that I just needed to lose weight, see a chiropractor, or try another medication, it has been incredibly refreshing to have two ENT physicians in a row who genuinely listened to me. They recognized that something wasn't right, took my concerns seriously, and treated me with the respect every patient deserves. Quite literally, Dr. Mathis changed the course of my life by asking a few extra questions that no one else had asked. Based on my first experience, I have every confidence that Dr. Foyt will continue that same standard of thoughtful, patient-centered care. I am incredibly grateful to both physicians and to Nevada ENT for helping me through one of the most difficult chapters of my life.

His skill and expertise has helped me, my family, and friends. I recommend him to anyone who is suffering from ear, nose, sinus, or throat problems; whether chronic or acute. He is a resource and a calm voice of guidance and action with difficult health issues. I can thank him for the ability to hear after suffering from an undiagnosed mastoiditis infection. I had suffered from dozens of ear infections throughout my life, but two years ago, this one felt different. I had been treated by my primary care doctor and had even gone to urgent care when vertigo, hearing loss, and pain increased despite treatment. Dr. Hudson's receptionist got me in for an appointment quickly. After a brief exam, interview, and in-office CT scan, I was diagnosed with a mastoid infection and scheduled for a surgical procedure. Three weeks into the infection, with conventional antibiotics not effective, I had a 50 decibel differential between ears (one infected, one not). My hearing was not restored after the surgery and took months to return and heal. It was a scary time but I knew everything had been done to ensure my best chance of recovery. Without Dr. Hudson's intervention I am certain I would have suffered permanent hearing damage and progression of the infection. Dr. Hudson has managed complex and challenging conditions for my loved ones, each condition requiring a different set of skills and knowledge. Not only does Dr. Hudson have outstanding technical skill and uses innovative yet scientifically grounded approaches to all ENT conditions, he genuinely cares for his patients. An exceptional, world-class expert right in Reno; a true gift to his patients and community.

My wife takes time off work to go to the Appt. only to be asked back in the billing office and told unless she pays a back payment from 2007 of $347 they will not be seeing her today. They apparently sent us to collections in 07' yet we did not get any bills or collection notices from them, we offer to make payments on it and they refuse saying it was not there acct. anymore contact the collection agency. On top of which in 2008 with heavy economic pressures and lack of work we filed chp 7 and all collection debt was discharged. I know they have the right to see who they want, but they could have told us in advance that this was an issue before scheduling the appt. and or called us to let us know they would not be seeing my wife so she did not have to take time off work only to be told go away. This kind of office management only brings down the great work Dr. West does with his patients.
