I have suffered from sinus issues for 40 years, allergy shots from my time in Ca and NV. I would still average 4 sinus infections a year. Three months ago I met with Dr. Hudson and his team and was given three options. Dr. Hudson recommended a sinus balloon dilation. Did the procedure and there was a drastic improvement in my breathing. I am a CPAP user and I no longer need to use sinus sprays before sleep. I just wish I had found this practice earlier but I am so thankful to my primary physician, Dr. Tyhssen for setting it up. Great Doctor and staff and a very happen patient. I've been a patient of theirs for a couple years, and had a sinus procedure done. They have all my medical records, I switched jobs and am not eligible for insurance for a couple months and asked them to let me be a cash patient this one time so I can get treatment for a nasty sinus infection. The office manager has a bad attitude and is condescending. I am already a patient there, not looking for anything free but to get an appointment to remedy a sinus infection. She kept repeating go to urgent care which is a complete waste of time. I definitely will not be back, a good customer that can't even get a simple request met that I would have gladly paid for. Just had nose balloon surgery and in recovery process. So far I am recovering good. Dr. Hudson was very personable during the procedure and gentle during the procedure process. I am hoping it works, so far no serious issues just minor congestion which I expected. Just as a suggestion it would of been nice if the nurse or office did a follow up call to see how I was doing. Normally I get a follow up call after every surgery I have ever had from other doctors or their nurse assistants and this time no follow up call. There was no followup survey either by phone or text either. Most medical offices have this to ensure they stay on top of patients satisfaction and also to receive vital feedback that can help their business. I just had surgery this week for my sinuses. First off the staff are all the sweetest and kindest. Just absolutely from the moment I walked in to when I left in my first appointment they were amazing. Secondly the Dr is so professional, made me feel comfortable, and just took everything I said seriously. They have an in house CT too. Look. If you're having any issues please go here. I have had a problem with bloody noses for the last couple years. I finally went out to get a referral to get treatment on this. I go in, do the usual routine, all is good. I was told they do not perform cauterizations in their office, which is what I assumed that is all I would've needed. Since they do not perform cauterizations, I was put on their typical 6 month starting routine. I was prescribed a nasal ointment (which every article out there claims it is unsafe for the nose) to put in for three months. You come back after three months, will be told to use it for another three months. Then MAYBE at six months, it will work. I emailed asking about the safety behind this, as others in the medical field (multiple) and all the research I did claimed it to be unsafe. When I asked about it, I could not be given a single article or reasoning on the safety, or a reason as to why I then had burning since starting this. I was told "it's probably because". No real explanation. Just met with annoyance by me asking for further explanation before continued use. GET A SECOND OPINION! I have other friends who also went here and seen by Dr. Hudson, same treatment routine. Three months of a steroid or antibiotic (unsafe for your body by the way) and then another three months until they tell you that you need a procedure to get it fixed. My second opinion told me all I did need was a cauterization. Problem is fixed. Do not suggest going here. He is a prescription pusher. read more

it's just an assembly line. you are run through a series of tasks, scans and evals. no one asks your opinion. they just tell you where to go and what to do. you definitely are not treated respectfully. it's near impossible to get a callback when you have a question. it takes at least 10 days. This place was recommended by my PCP and I was looking forward to breathing again. My first of two visits, I was in the office for about 20 minutes, just long enough to fill out a bunch of paperwork, pay an insanely high copay, and get a quick CT scan. I saw a PA, not Hudson. She talked to me for 5 minutes about how messed up my sinus cavities were and placed me on a month's worth of antibiotics and steroids that landed me in the hospital with severe abdominal discomfort and organ inflammation (yes even with probiotics, working out, eating healthy, and drinking water)... When i expressed my concerns and told him about what had happened he didn't seem to care and blew me off. Prescribed another round of antibiotics and gave me some BS story about how in another month we'll come up with a plan for what works best for me. I told him yet again-- that sinus surgery would be best since I've had it in the past and was told it would need to happen again in the future. He didn't even let me finish my sentences before he ran out of the room and dismissed me entirely. I don't know if it's an ageism thing or if he thinks i'm stupid since I'm a young woman? Or a woman of color? But i was disgusted and felt very uncomfortable with the way I was treated. "Fly-by" doctoring at its finest. He was in the room for no more than 4 minutes. Unbelievable. Unfortunate. I do NOT recommend this place to anybody. read more

Negative 5! I would not recommend this practice or Dr. Hudson to anyone, for many reasons. The scheduling staff was rude and condescending. Hudson was very strange, and the interaction was very uncomfortable. He comes off as arrogant and dismissive. He could not provide any insight into symptoms. He sent me to obtain an expensive CT scan. I went through with the scan, and then waited for the practice to contact me to provide me some guidance and continued patient care. No one called. I was ghosted by the Hudson office. Until, weeks later, the practice manager began to email and call me to harass me concerning a small remaining balance! When asked why I did not receive any follow-up care, not even a courtesy call, she had no reply. They sent a collection agency to harass me as well. I finally went to another practice that figured out the root cause and solution - all without spending hundreds of dollars on unneeded procedures. In short, I was neglected as a patient and was harassed by the practice's office manger. Stay away from this horrible practice! read more

Again this is my 2nd review. The Dr is great but the billing department sucks. A couple months I got a bill for 250.00. When I called they said had paid my deductible from Medicare. I paid the 250 and the following month I received bill for 50.00. Calle office to tell that it was paid. Clerk said she take care of it. May receive another bill for 50.00. Call office asked the girl why and she was very rude. Again I will say the billing dept sucks. read more

First of all, I had nothing but trouble with the office staff. They miss filed my paperwork and had my first name as my last. It was constant issues as they could never find me. Dr. Hudson would not see me for Vertigo, after being in the hospital 4 days with this issue, until I had testing done at a place he sent me to. That was fine except I had an issue with the balance and hearing place because an Audiologist there yanked wax (along with skin) out of my ear causing pain, blood squirting out and hearing loss. I was bounced back and forth between both businesses with no help. On a visit with Dr. Hudson, I was told to saturate my ear with olive oil for 2 weeks. All I said to him was "olive oil?" and he came off on me. He paced back and forth touting his medical degree and how I did not have one and how the previous ear drops he gave me were not bad for me (even when the side affects listed hearing loss) and he continued to berate me in an angry way. I have never been treated like that ever from a doctor. I just sat and let him go on and on and watched while his face got red. I got a feeling that because I was female I was being treated differently. I left and knew I was never coming back. My husband, who was waiting in the car, agreed with me and said "you certainly don't need that after everything you have been through." So now I still had Vertigo plus no h hearing in my right ear. I hold Dr. Hudson accountable for sending me to a Balance and Hearing Center that had a Audiologist who made me deaf in one ear and then tried to sell me hearing aides for both ears just because I was a Senior with insurance. Plus with his bad attitude, he should not be working with the public and certainly not as a doctor. I was lucky enough, after waiting two months, to get in to an ENT doctor in Carson City who was smart enough to send me to a Specialist in Sacramento. I got a wonderful ENT doctor down there who knew the loss of hearing was from the scar tissue that formed in the ear against my ear drum. I had surgery under general anesthesia to remove the scar tissue and graft skin in the ear (90 minute operation). I am recovering now and I have my hearing back. I am glad I did not stay with Hudson because since I needed surgery, it was good that I was with a Specialist. I had no hearing problems before seeing Dr Hudson and the center he sent me to for testing. Although it may not be his fault that the skin was pulled out of my ear, I think he should be much more careful who he send patients too. And he should be more compassionate, a better communicator, and have some patience. He should respond to questions nicely and with knowledge, that is the sign of a good doctor. I have been a business woman and owner, since graduating college. Just because I am retired, it does not mean I am less educated than you. Just treat others with respect and as you would like to be treated. AND please don't reply stating that you don't know me or can not find me in your files (Sept /Oct 2019). read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Hudson's for a few years. He has cauterized my nose and treated me for my nose bleeds. About a year ago I went in explaining to him I was getting my nose bleeds again and he prescribed me cream and told me to use it for 3 months then come back in to be evaluated. I followed up with him over the summer after getting a new referral for a follow up on the same issue stating the cream didn't work. He proceeds to tell me the exact same thing. "Use the cream for 3 months and come back for a follow up." I WAS AT MY FOLLOW UP? I asked him if he could just cauterize my nose again and he said "I've never cauterized your nose?" I'm like "um yes you have, if you could check my chart and your files id appreciate it because I have been one of your patients for quite sometime now" He proceeded to tell me he hasn't cauterized a nose in years and proceeded to prescribe me cream again. I paid $80 co pay for him to spend two min with me, tell me to do something I've already done, then just forget a procedure he's done on me in the past. Fast forward to about a month ago when I went to urgent care for an ear infection. I was told I need to see an ENT. I explained to the dr I already have a referral to Dr. Hudson but my last visit with him was less than stellar and left a bad taste in my mouth. She said I'll just place another referral somewhere else in case you decide to transfer care elsewhere. I make an appointment with Dr Hudson office explaining my situation and they tell me "ears are a complicated thing but we can see if there's anything he can do" Um ok so then I ask if my referral is still current and if everything was squared away because the appointment was three weeks out and I was already in so much pain but knowing I had an appointment was a relief. I was willing to see him again for a different issue in hopes that my experience would be better than last. I get a call from his office today canceling my appointment the DAY before I was scheduled after waiting weeks. The lady who called me was rude telling me they are canceling my appointment. I was shocked and asked why. She said you have another referral placed from urgent care elsewhere. And I said yeah so I've never seen them and my referral is current and authorized with your office? She said "I got on your MyChart and read your notes stating you didn't want to see us again so we don't want to see you?" Excuse me? How unethical is that? How rude and unprofessional? And how embarrassing for this office. Why didn't you just tell me that when you put me on hold for 20 min three weeks prior to check my account and referral. Shame on her, shame on Dr Hudson and shame on his entire staff for being unkind and unprofessional. I will never refer anyone to this office and I will make sure everyone knows about my experience. The sad part about this is I was already warned by friends and co workers to avoid this office FOR THE SAME EXACT SCENARIO. Save your money and your time. Get referred elsewhere read more

Dr. Hudson house done two procedures for me. I had a severely deviated septum and suffer from sleep apnea. He originally fixed my septum and straighten my nose so I can finally breathe through it. As I got older sleep apnea occurred, he hollowed out my sinuses and I have never felt better. Great guy and fantastic doctor. I recommend him every chance I get. If you have trouble breathing, do yourself a favor and go see Dr. Hudson. read more

Heard only good things about Dr. Hudson. But the staff.... Most unprofessional people and full of excuses. I have never been treated so poorly, never did I get to make an appointment after waiting a month to hear from them about my referral. I was told they aren't "fully contracted" with my insurance and I needed an auth. I called my insurance, my insurance is contracted and no auth needed just a referral. Told Jade (referral specialist) she said she would need to contact them herself for a reference number, 2 minutes later got a call from Jade that she just remembered that they can't see me because there no documentation that I've lost my smell and taste. I've seen an ENT for it twice, and my PCP. Jade still continued to say I couldn't be seen and that my claim would be denied.... Makes no sense. They couldn't call me a month ago to tell me I cant be seen? I hope this makes it to Dr. Hudson himself. read more

I went in for some symptoms and had a procedure done. It didn't fix my symptoms and had to get 4 more scans done and each scan showed something different. They were reluctant to do a scan after the procedure, saying the procedure should have fixed my issues. Last time I saw him, my insurance dropped him, he said it was allergies. I went to an allergist and it isn't allergies. He didn't seem interested in getting to the root of the problem. I had a balance due because the insurance didn't cover the last scan all the way. They claimed to have sent me statements and left messages after my last payment, which I never received and then they sent it to collections. Even though it was less than 90 days since my last payment. You would think they would give a courtesy call before sending it. The last time I made a payment the lady just said to call when I wanted to make another payment. They weren't very helpful. read more

Stacey was a wonderful doctor at first, but overtime, with his staff's major attitude and little worry for patients with emergencies, Dr. Hudson has blindly vouched for a staff that has no respect or manners. Dr. Hudson has been my ENT for over six months, but I wanted to get a second opinion. After filling out the paperwork for the new office, I got a call from Dr. Hudson's office informing me that he considers a second opinion a "transferring of patient care" and is therefore unwilling to treat me anymore. Knowing this, there's no way I can recommend Dr. Hudson's office to anyone. I don't care if this is a common practice for doctors' offices today. It certainly isn't a "patient-first" policy, and if Dr. Hudson is too insecure for me to get a second opinion, then I can no longer be confident in the type of care I would receive from him. read more

So I made appointment 3 weeks out and received a call the day before that they are canceling my appointment. The reason they are canceling is I had seen a doctor at another practice. I think over 3 years ago. I explained I wanted a second opinion on a procedure. They said since I went to a different doctor they would no longer see me. I also was told this is common practice amongst all offices. Since when is it not good to get a second opinion? I asked why didn't you tell me when I first made the appointment. The response was they were just getting around to looking at there scheduling. Also checking with other ENT if this common practice and they never heard that. I also never initiated a transfer of patient care that saw the doctor respond in a similar complaint. It worked out for the best because because with my senior care insurance he is not in the network. I see why and Nevada ENT and hearing is a better choice. They don't need the TV commercial to get business. read more

I had an excellent experience with Dr Hudson. He was referred to me for an ear infection that two others had prescribed antibiotics and it persisted. He put me on another antibiotic plus ear drops. In a couple weeks I was doing o.k. but lost hearing in the infected ear. His office got me in within a few days. He removed part of a cotton ball that had gotten stuck and blocked my hearing. My hearing was immediately restored. Within two weeks the medication he prescribed eliminated my ear infection and also, miraculously, eliminated a perforation in my ear drum that I had had for years. His office staff was efficient and friendly. read more

Maybe I happened to come on a bad day, but my experience was pretty negative. Hudson was not interested in answering questions, was rude and snarky. The stereotypical arrogant Medical Deity who sees patients as a bother. (10-9-17) A followup amendment since the above: In separate correspondence, Dr. Hudson addressed my issues thoroughly. This is indicative that he does care about patient problems. I was rather surprised, based on past experience in the medical industry. Rather than substantive problems it was more of a personality conflict between two people who were not having a good day. An unmentioned problem in my review was my anger about paying an outrageous price for an antibiotic ear drop prescription. It was four times as high as a previous Rx from another doctor. I left this out because the good doctor is not responsible for the predatory drug racket that prevails in this country. Even so, he did discuss this issue to my satisfaction. Bottom line is that I now feel obligated to to amend my review to a higher rating. read more

I called a few days before my appointment to schedule the catscan prior to my appt. Much to my surprise, the office invited me to come in as they now had a cat scan machine in office. In less than 25 minutes I traveled to the office, had the cat scan and returned home. 2 minutes later I had a call with a diagnosis and an order for medication. Have seen this doctor multiple times over the last 8+ years. He was actually really good before. Last time I was there was terribly Poor service. It was so "fly by Doctoring" it was sad.I showed up 10 minutes early for my appointment . My appointment was 230pm. The doctor came into the room at 3:28 PM. I left the office at 3:33. Pm that's sad the doctor can't spend more than three minutes with a patient..... I think this place has grown too big. It's very pathetic. I recently moved to Oklahoma. Dr. Hudson was my ENT doctor for years in Reno. I have very serious sinus problems and he worked very hard to find relief for me. I cannot believe these people who wrote negative reviews of him. He was always nice and pleasant. He always asked about my husband who was suffering from dementia when I saw him. He always returned my calls and called in RXs for me when I was having terrible symptoms and relied on my knowledge of my disease.
