Horrendous experience with this company. They had Sunnova do the installation since they were the local installer. Sunnova went bankrupt and now I have no customer support to help with my microinverters that are not reporting. I've reached out multiple times now, spanning over 8-10 months at this point. Haven't gotten anywhere except circles about them saying they will contact another installer to help it get looked at. Yet here I am, probably a year after half of my microinverters have stopped working/reporting, producing half the energy I did same time last year. Just sent another email to customer service, let's see how many circles they have me go in this time. Not recommended to trust this company at all. Find another solar source. read more

The service to reconnect our gateway was amazing. Over 10 minutes of patience and easily understood instructions. Unfortunately, this positive experience was cancelled out, plus some, by a representative convincing me about a month ago that our gateway was irreparable and beyond the warranty, even after I asked at least twice if it could be fixed. And the service here stayed bad: I was required to email the Enphase store and plead my case for a refund. I wouldn't have even known this was a scam if I hadn't received an email today saying the gateway was disconnected from the internet and that I should call or email for instructions to reconnect it. I own 3 solar installations, all accompanied by heat pumps or geothermal, and I've received no tax rebates for the 2 rental installations. I also drive an EV and advocate strongly for the implementation of state climate mandates. I'm doing my part. Enphase charging $1k for unnecessary equipment increases our carbon footprint. And loyal customers shouldn't be scammed into buying unnecessary items. Customers who spend more money to increase GHG emissions should be in conflict with a solar company's purpose and mission. read more

If I could I would give them negative 5 stars. 13 out of my 24 inverters have had to be changed, since they changed the inverter design etc they had to come with a trunk cable to adapt to the old hookups. I ordered an inverter to replace one not working. It did not come with the cable to hook it up. Multiple phone calls talking to multiple people over 4 days and still cannot get them to understand or send me the cable, despite numerous pictures. Stay as far away from them as possible, their customer service is terrible a best. Hope I can get this resolved before the next break down. I am installing another array and I will stay as far away from Enphase as I can. read more

I just need to get something off my chest that been pissing me off for 3 weeks now. 13 years ago I contracted a company to install a solar system on the roof of my garage. They of course sourced components from various companies that they felt were reliable. Now thankfully, as you can see the roof is accessible from the ground or my problems over the years would have been devastating to say the least. I have 23 micro invertors, one under each panel. The invertors are warranted for 25 years, it was a good thing because in 12 years I have experienced 14 micro invertor failures. The installation company is about 110 miles from me, so when the first invertor failed I called them and they came down to replace it. Even though the invertor was not charged to me their trip down here and labor was costing me $700! Thankfully I watched the easy plug and play replacement so I could do it the next time myself. Good thing because this scenario repeated itself 13 more times. Fast forward to now, the communication portal is made by the same company who makes the invertors. Calling the installer wasn't fruitful as they blame the problem on their supplier, long story short I was told by the supplier that the communication device had gone bad, warranty on this is only 5 years. Replacement device is $700 and no bigger than my hand but "out of stock" due in 4 weeks. I finally received the device and although they claim "plug and play" installation it is anything but! Two days on the phone with the tech department and it still doesn't work properly. Now they are claiming it's probably a wiring problem and to call the installer. Nobody wants to accept responsibility and it pisses me off. The name of the company that makes the invertors and communication device ENPHASE ENERGY...a word to the wise, don't let your installer use these junk devices made in China! read more

We recently needed to replace our solar batteries that were not Enphase batteries. Once the contractor installed the Enphase batteries, everything worked fine for about 2 weeks, then we started having issue with the Enphase Communication Gateway not functioning properly. The Enphase Gateway had been originally installed in 2022 and was under warranty and the contractor wanted to charge us $500 to just come out and take a look. I contacted Enphase Customer Support and was informed that Enphase now offers an annual service for Enphase equipment at $399 per year for their equipment/parts. Before I signed up I was advised they had a two week backlog. Enphase did get me set up with having the communication update via my smartphone, until they could get their technician out to replace the part. Our Enphase Service Tech Andrew, was very knowledgeable and professional. He kept us posted every step of the way and when finished, ran tests to ensure that the issue was not fixed! Great Job and thanks Andrew! Best money and well worth the annual fee, as each time a "contractor" rolls out to your house they will charge $500 for 2 hours. While only Enphase parts and equipment are covered under this plan, most of our equipment is Enphase, except for the solar panels. That however will have us contacting the manufacturer if something happens while they are under warranty. Only shortcoming is the wait time, but this is a new service program and hopefully they will get more service techs. read more

The system went together overall quite well. The installer was very inept, but their screwups and errors were fixed by the Enphase technician in the area. I just wish it had not taken weeks to schedule one of his visits, and even then he only had 1/2 day available. He got a lot of the work done, but not completed. Then it took a few more weeks before he could return. We also had a 2 hour power outage overnight recently. The system with its batteries did not initialize itself correctly when power came back on. But a call to tech support, who guided me on what I had to do in sequence, got it back up and running, without needing a technician visit. Good! read more

In May some of my solar panels stopped working, due to a fault with the microinverters. I contacted Enphase (case 18108337) for details of an installer to look at the issue. First they sent me to a website that didn't work, then recommended installers that weren't even in the right country, then right country only hundreds of miles away. Finally they managed to recommend one nearby - that had ceased trading about four years ago (in the end I gave up and found a local one myself). Since then, despite numerous site visits, Enphase have been unable or unwilling to resolve the issue. Each time the engineers are on site Enphase say they're going to replace the inverters, but then they repeatedly delay approving the replacement, insisting on another site visit (which costs me more money every time and requires expensive scaffolding). I asked for an explanation of the delays and was told it was actually the wiring or voltages, despite what they'd previously told the engineers and all the wiring and voltages being checked numerous times. On the next site visit, Enphase said again the inverters needed replacing, but still haven't actually approved the replacements. It looks like Enphase are deliberately avoiding their warranty obligations, and my system is only six years old. The installer's having to deal with other homeowners in the same predicament (one of whom has a brand new system), and is now reluctant to recommend Enphase in the future. Looking at the Enphase share price over the last couple of years, it seems others have drawn the same conclusion and wisely chosen a different supplier. Over the last two months the only thing Enphase appear to have achieved is changing the gateway ID, which just caused more of my panels to stop working, and costing me a lot of unnecessary expenditure. Now, the installer is chasing them daily. I contacted them again about the delays (case 18410808); it's been a week and they haven't even bothered replying. read more

If it is working, it's good. However, my unit lost internet connection, and I've been working for MANY months to try and get it connected again without receiving money back for the power the solar is providing. This started first with them trying to guide me through fixing it myself. Combined, this took at least 6 hours of my time over multiple attempts via chat and phone--didn't work. I then struggled to get them to agree to repair the system and they finally put me in touch with a service tech that does not work for Enphase (he was great). The tech was unable to repair and so responsibility shifted back to Enphase. I was quoted that this would take a couple days and it has been nearly a month again. All in all, I have been trying to get my unit fixed since March. IT IS NOW NEARLY NOVEMBER without progress updates!! Needless to say, I'm pretty over it. read more

I'm a former SUNPOWER customer and learned that Enphase was willing to adapt my warranty on the micro inverters that are installed underneath my Sunpower panels. I called in an order the envoy. On the day of my installation I was fortunate enough that my technician, Ragel, who is very experienced and patient with my questions. He did a phenomenal job of promptly connecting and teaching me a lot about how it all works. I'm very thankful for Ragel. Before he was here I only had bar graphs showing production now I have both consumption monitoring and production monitoring. Do not purchase the battery backup system. I have had mine for about seven months and have had numerous problems with it. The gateway will not stay connected. The first few Enphase techs were no help. Finally, I spoke with someone who stated my gateway was defective and sent me a new one. A week later, the part arrived. I then had to locate, contact, and schedule a repair service. I live in California and deal with numerous outages per year. During the time my system was down, I experienced two. The tech arrived and installed the gateway, which worked fine for two days. It is disconnected again, and I cannot control the system--an absolute waste of money. read more

Enphase makes it simple to track your solar energy. It also is great to know if you are having any issues. I had an issue where two micro-inverters stopped working. They were able to warranty them and send me replacements and pay the installer to put them in. Didn't realize they had a 90-day limit for the installer to put them in. Went to customer service and explained the weather and why they couldn't be installed and the matter was resolved easily and professionally. read more

Enphase customer service helped me with installation of a Gateway S for my arrays. I did not have one set up, and after some costly squirrel damage I wanted to be able to monitor directly besides the energy reports from my utility. The repairs have not been great, but the Enphase customer service person spent two hours with me getting commissioned what works, and clearly identifying what still needs attention, and provided a detailed report I can use with local solar installers to get the rest of the system working. The system was installed originally in 2011-2012, micro inverters that have not been squirrel damaged are still talking to the newer Gateway S. This is good technology that I would recommend to anyone. Just make sure your installer is not a bozo and have critter guard installed to protect your system from those pesky varmints. It will also protect you from the bozo installer. read more

My experience with Enphase support people has been excellent... We've had our 16-panel installation for 8 years now, and one of the inverters started failing, and was sometimes unable to communicate with its panel and with the Envoy terminal. I sent an email support request, got a response within two days... that person looked at our system, saw the failing panel, tried re-provisioning the inverter, but when that failed, they generated an RMA and sent me a replacement inverter, with no difficulties. The one disappointment is that, although the hardware has a 25-year warranty, that does *not* cover labor, and the company that originally handled installation does not do that any more - so I was stuck with paying $550 for installation, but the installation company (which I got from Enphase) did the job cleanly and reliably; they were Sunwise Solar Solutions, whom I will be leaving a separate review for. It's important to note that Enphase just makes/sells the hardware; they are *not* installers... read more

If you buy a solar system with Enphase components, all I got to say is "Good luck". I got a 44 panel system with Enphase Microinverters. One failed within a year, then it failed again the next year...along with 11 other Microinverters! It's been well over a month and Enphase hasn't done a darn thing! Warranty? Good luck....first they need to actually get off their seats and do something about it! Been nothing but excuses and excuses!! DO NOT BUY ENPHASE PRODUCTS they will cost you over and over and over... Our internet went down due to a system hardware issue with Cox. Days later we are back. However, the Combiner would not reconnect to the new router. Tried all the on line methods, called Enphase three times and they worked very hard (hours on the phone) but could not get the box to work. They gave me a case number and suggested that it may be a hardware issue in the box. They worked with Sunline to get me a tech. The installer is coming out to try some hands on methods to get us running. Enphase does have good customer service! read more

Worst Customer Service, they took over for SunPower. They want you to buy their equipment so you can monitor your system. Or pay a subscription to scan your system, while before it was free with your purchase. If you have an issue with a panel, they want you to find an installer to pay for it, and they will come out to fix it. So we have now installed two Enphase systems for our Solar Power in both the Boston Area and Florida. It has been very satisfying to not spend any money on electricity. My bills have be zero since we started out systems. I have found the Enphse systems to be very reliable and work incredibly well. What I love is the monitoring software and app that shows me how much the system is producing and the savings that I am experiencing. I would highly recommend these systems. I don't think there is a better way to save money and do my part to reduce my personal emissions and footprint on this world. When setting up my latest system, i need to connect both systems in such a way as i could view and monitor both, The customer service was outstanding, they stayed with me the whole time until everything was working perfectly and renamed so I could monitor both systems. read more

On with customer service right now it's been 15 years and slowly inverter after inverter are starting to fail completely or produce a fraction of what they are supposed to!!! They fight to not replace the inverter unless its producing almost nothing... I sit on the phone with them for hours at a time and they do everything possible to refuse responsibility. I've had four positive experiences over the last month with Enphase Energy Tech Support and Upgrade Coordinator. All of the Tech Support Staff I had interaction with, were fantastic. They asked questions to be sure they understood my request for help. Then walked me thru what I needed to do, and then also took care of things from their end. Some sessions were long, and they kept periodically updating me along the way. The Upgrade Coordinator, was more concerned about packaging different upgrade paths options for me, then anything to do with 'selling'. It was a refreshing experience, and so good to see that Enphase Energy understands the value of great support of their customers. read more

This is not an accurate response! It took Enphase over 6 months to address the system issues and to replace mult parts and 3 site visits. The "wiring" issue discovered from a tech in a completely different state via monitoring my system. There was a solid month when a power surge occurred around 2am every evening- like my house was rebooting. All of my panels were working prior to my system failure. Spread the word on solar systems! I work for an airline and shared my story thousands of times! Worst decision ever! read more

Terrible! During the installation my TV antenna was destroyed. I didn't see any gains. My dependency with FPL is increasing, and in ADDITION I PAY 83 DOLLARS MONTHLY TO EMPHASE and my regular electric bill has increased. You practically need to do all the contacts with the local electricity company FPL. Has been a nightmare. I don't see any decrease in my payments and I am really unhappy! read more

I struggled to connect my Gateway to my Wi-Fi. After trying and being unsuccessful 3 times, with 3 different assistants, and several hours, I thought I would try one more time. I called Jason at Enphase and it was quickly found out that I had called the wrong company. I needed the technician, not the manufacturer, but Jason ask me what the problem was and said maybe he could help. I explained it to him and he had me connected in a very short time. After hours with the experts. He was my Hero. Enphase employs knowledgeable and customer orientated employees. read more

My issue with Enphase is the stupid, cloud-monitored method of reporting. Be aware: the equipment Enphase provides does not allow you to simply look at your system and find out if it is functioning. An internet connection IS NOT OPTIONAL. They want to know and track where you installed your system and exactly how much energy you produce. Once that information is streamed to Enphase, then you can access it via the Internet. There is NO way for you to find out without going through their website. Even if you have their apps on your smartphone, those won't allow you do directly connect to your system and get a report. They want that data, they want you dependent on them to control and monitor the hardware YOU OWN. Had I known this was going to be the case, I would never have bought their crap. I'm planning to rip out their microinverter bullshit and buy an old-fashioned transformer with an actual display on it just to get away from these people! UPDATE: Here on Yelp, they've said they'll "escalate" this with customer service. This is bullshit. There is no "customer service" option to "escalate." They just want to sound like they're doing something to help. The issue is they changed their software to make it IMPOSSIBLE to monitor your own solar panels directly. They CHOSE to deny you the option. The only way to fix this problem is to UNDO what THEY DID in their monitoring software. And they will not do this because they want you to be connected to their monitoring system no matter where you are or what your setup is. read more

My experience with Enphase Solar has been nothing short of a disaster. The installation process was plagued by delays, and to make matters worse, the brand-new battery that was supposed to be the centerpiece of my system stopped working on day one. It was a shocking and incredibly frustrating experience. Enphase's remote troubleshooting efforts initially seemed promising, as they were able to get the first battery functioning again. However, this led to an unforeseen issue: the other two batteries in my system also stopped working. To date, they remain non-functional. To address the ongoing problems and meet my goal of energy independence, I had to request solar panel company to install additional 5 panel that they are now charging more then initial installation per panel $1000 per panel quote I was given to $1350 per panel for additional panel. I cannot recommend Enphase Solar to anyone. Their products have proven to be unreliable, and their customer service has been equally disappointing. The delays, technical issues, and additional costs have made this experience a nightmare. If you're considering solar, I strongly urge you to explore other options. read more
