A couple of years ago, my previous contractor abandoned my solar storage project without obtaining the necessary permits to operate. I had heard great things about Synergy and contacted them to see if they could help me with my predicament. (I wish I had chosen them in the first place). Anyway, Justin, one of the owners, came to my home to check out my system to see what was needed to make my system compliant. He said that Synergy would be willing to resolve all the issues! I am so grateful for Synergy and their overall empathy and integity. Peter, Raven and Andrew were sent out and made all the corrections required PLUS maximizing the solar production to energize my home more efficiently. It was not an easy job so they are champions in my eyes. I was unexpressably excited when I finally got PG&E's coveted "permission to operate." If you are considering hiring a contractor you can trust to install or upgrade solar, I highly recommend Synergy Solar & Electric . read more

Mike and Justin, along with Peter and his crew, are all great to work with. They answered all of my questions and provided a competitive proposal. Installation was completed well before the initial estimated date. The install is well designed and clean. They handled all the permitting and communications with PGE. If I ever need more solar related work, this is my go to company. read more

Top notch! Justin, Peter, Raven and Andrew did a great job with a great attitude, stepping up to troubleshoot some unexpected problems with our internal house wiring. Much appreciated! read more

From the start, Synergy exceeded the competing companies. Mike took the time to come to the site several times to be sure the design approach was correct before finalizing his bid: something the other bidders didn't do. We had set our strategy for solar several years earlier when we upgraded our electrical service, but PG&E buy-back rates had plummeted since, and that meant we needed to change the design to better utilize our batteries to save on our utility bills. The other solar contractors didn't catch that, and I'm sure it would have resulted in a change order after the contract was signed if we had chosen one of them. When the time for installation arrived, the building framing and roof was running late and compressing our deadline. Justin, Peter and the rest of the staff, all of them friendly and professional, did a few back-flips for us to get the system in on time, and the whole project was a huge success. read more

Synergy Solar staff were so great to work with! It was so intimidating to look into getting a new solar system for our home and they clearly explained everything, helped with PG&E and promptly answered any questions or concerns. They are so nice, professional, and excellent at what they do. We really appreciated how easy they were to work with and when they were on our property they were so good to our dogs. Everyone in the company was a pleasure to work with. read more

We are completely satisfied with Synergy Solar, you couldn't ask for a better company. It felt like old school customer service. They were very detail oriented, communication was awesome from design to install and beyond. I know 3 other people that used Synergy, and all have the same opinion, just a first class business. read more

In 2015 I had solar panels installed by a different local company. In 2021 Synergy Solar installed storage batteries for my home and car that then included the solar panels, electric heat pump for radiant floor heating and electric water heater, and EV charging station. I have had use of my battery storage this winter on two occasions in my rural area and have been very happy with the relative comfort of having the storage capacity. The owners, technicians, and other staff were extremely competent and responsive. Mike and Justin were very thorough in their explanations all along the way so that I feel like I understand how things work. In the process of installation they found an electrical wiring problem from others' work that could have been dangerous, and they fixed it. I am very pleased with their work and am hoping to get a bid from them for a different project for an organization I am a part of. Pam T read more

Synergy installed 2 Franklin backup batteries to our already existing solar array at our Sebastopol home. Owner and staff were all very knowledgeable, communicative and responsible. Workmanship was also impressive. No concerns at all about recommending them! read more

Rebuilt our house post Tubbs fire and these people were the most professional, on-time, cleaned up after themselves, took PRIDE in their work. From the initial estimates I knew EXACTLY what I was getting, what the rebates were worth, my return on investment for energy sold back to PG&E. Everything was up front - no surprises. They even had some advice for the contractor (all roof penetrations on the North side please so the panels won't have gaps) which my general groused about but looks FABULOUS!!! I got bids from 4 companies for 52 panels plus battery backup and most cost the same for just the panels! This was an outstanding value and I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone looks for solar panels. They will take the time to sell you just what you need and you will be very happy with your utility bill thereafter. read more

We highly recommend Synergy Solar. They first installed our large PV system and three+ years later they've just completed installation of batteries. The owners and all Synergy's staff are terrific. They are fair, friendly, knowledgeable, and responsive. read more

I could write ON and ON for days and still not say how much we appreciate the folks at Synergy Solar. I had solar put in at our house and used who our neighbors used on their recommendation after interviewing Sunrun and a few other companies. No one seemed to have their act together besides Synergy. They were - and are - fantastic! A++ all the way around. They have even guided me on the best battery back up companies, tree services for trimming to get more efficiency for the panels, and the best way to clean the panels and companies. If I am ever in doubt about something solar related I call them. They always guide me to the best answer. And to top it all off they are lovely to work with and incredibly professional. Thank you for everything Synergy solar! read more

Synergy Solar installed our 19-panel solar array in 2021 paired with an Enphase Battery backup system. After reading many customer reviews from both Synergy customers and also the national companies, we were convinced that a local company was the way to go. The Synergy team, from the analysis of our home's orientation and our power needs, installation, questions asked and answered, and follow up support has been professional and thorough. The Enlighten Enphase software, downloaded on my iPhone and iPad, allows for system monitoring in real time, including energy produced, imported from the grid, and grid dependence. When there is PG&E power outage, we are not even aware of it because the switchover to battery backup is seamless and instantaneous. Product Qualty, Value, and Service are all Top Notch. I have recommended Synergy Solar to several of my friends and neighbors and would not hesitate to use Synergy Solar again. Brian Williams Santa Rosa read more

Synergy installed solar panels and a battery storage system at my home several years ago. I was very impressed by them. The owners were very knowledgeable, honest, reliable, responsive, and they have treated me very well in all phases of the process from recommending the best solution for me to installation to post installation assistance when occasional issues have arisen. They have been a pleasure to deal with and I highly recommend them. read more

The install was seamless and was carried out in a professional manner. All questions were answered and thorough explanations of the system were given. Our system has brought our energy bill down to a negligible level. As well as the solar panels we also have the battery back up so we have the comfort of complete back up during power outage with no generator noise or obnoxious fumes. We were lucky enough to qualify for clean energy rebates as promised. They are a locally based company so reaching out and after service are a breeze. read more

After disastrous experiences with two other companies, Synergy Solar delivered a great battery storage system to go with our solar panels. They even hooked up our generator so it could charge the battery if it got too low during a power outage. They were prompt, very professional, and took a great deal of care in getting everything right. They helped me with the software that monitors the system, and now we're confident we can survive future power outages. They will be there promptly should the need arise, but in the meantime we're enjoying the peace of mind the system brings. read more

Amazing service, very professional and quick. Nicole Williams is a great sales person and kept me in the loop throughout the entire process and still checks in to see if we have any concerns. We could not be happier with our solar panel and battery installation by Synergy Solar. The entire office and install team is super friendly, helpful, informational and professional. The team guided us every step of the way and we are extremely appreciative for their care and attention to our needs. We installed a big, expensive system that will provide our energy needs for many years to come, and all of the folks with whom we worked at Synergy Solar made sure that we got what we paid for and then some. We were referred to Synergy Solar by several neighbors who already had systems from them and were extremely happy. Now were are as well ! read more

Just added battery storage and a smart switch to our solar system, which will enable us to avoid future PG&E power outages. We just had our solar installation completed by Synergy. We initially had them out for a quote a year ago but they discovered some roof issues that first needed to be fixed. Jeff from Synergy suggested a roofer who did a fantastic job on the roof. So this year, we went ahead with solar. Jeff and Mike really are experts and made us very comfortable with the technology. Their proposal scoped out exactly what we would need and they explained everything very clearly and even came out a second time to clarify things. Jeff told us it would take at least a month to get us installed but they got the panels fast and were able to squeeze us in to their schedule within a couple of weeks. They did a seamless job with the installation. The panels looks great and they did a good job cleaning up things. One really cool thing is the system connects via wi-fi with a website that shows how much is produced real-time. Amazing how much is produced in mid-October when the sun already low. Even cooler is that our panels will cover our entire electric bill for the year and that we are helping the environment. read more

We spent a fair amount of time researching solar energy and quite a few solar companies. We used Solar Sonoma Co Clean Energy Advocate program. Geoff at SSCEA was supportive and helpful. Based on our needs he gave us three local vendors who used local and US made products to choose from We ended up narrowing it down to two local solar companies. Both were very helpful with answering all of my questions. When it came down to it, we choose a company that made themselves accessible and honest. In the end we went with Synergy. Not only is Jeff incredibly knowledgeable, about all things Solar, he is the owner not a Sales Person working on commission. Furthermore Jeff is highly involved with solar energy in both the county and the state. We liked their methodology and product set they used. Mike is the other owner and in charge of the installation process itself. He too is knowledgeable, professional, EXTREMELY responsive! In addition, they were willing to work with us to get the best layout of the solar panels as well as the power panel change we needed. Chaz and Micheal did a professional install which was clean and the panel placement on our roof was not tacky looking at all! Furthermore the work they did with the electric panel replacement was TOP NOTCH. During the install they were not instursive to our family and kept us informed from start to finish! Without a doubt, I would recommend Synergy to anyone thinking about solar. read more

I can't say enough good things about Synergy Solar. They installed a solar system for me last year and it is great. Now I am getting the Sonnen Battery back up and I am pretty excited. Everyone in the company (especially Jeff) has been so helpful and patient with me. Everything was explained to my satisfaction, even though sometime it took a while. I appreciate most their honesty and that's very important to me. read more

Synergy Solar recently installed a system in our home, and we couldn't be more satisfied with our choice of company. Although we planned to get more than one estimate, we were so impressed by co-owner Jeff Mathias's initial presentation that we saw no need to look further. Some of the factors that sold us immediately on this company: they are a local business, they use the same very competent crew for all of their jobs, they purchase solar panels made in the U.S., and they consider esthetics as well as functionality when designing a system. At every stage of our job, steps were clearly explained, the owners were incredibly responsive to our questions, and co-owner and electrician Mike led an outstanding installation crew. All of the details were handled in a timely manner, including city approvals and permits, communications with PG&E to switch our metering and system accounting, and establishing an account in our name to monitor the solar production. There was never a question that Jeff and Mike had not already anticipated on our behalf, and answered patiently and thoroughly. We can't imagine any solar company providing better service than Synergy, and recommend them very highly! read more

I never choose price over service. With Synergy Solar, we were happy to have both. From our first meeting with Jeff to the last meeting with Mike, when the system was turned on, the two owners were hands-on, thoughtful and easy to work with. We waited a long time to install solar and now that we finally did it, we couldn't be happier. When a panel fails or an inverter doesn't work, Mike will know before we do, because he constantly monitors the system. Instead of a short relationship during the sales and installation, we feel as if Synergy will take care of us and our system as long as we live in our house. We're so glad our friends recommended them. read more

I've been looking at solar for years and decided now was the time, as PG&E is about to phase out NEM-1 and we wanted to lock it in. I contacted Synergy Solar after comparing bids through EnergySage, an outfit recommended by Consumer Reports (I give Energy Sage high marks as a platform to quickly & efficiently compare pre-screened solar installers, although many aren't local). I had Synergy and 3 other outfits come out and provide proposals. Jeff (co-owner of Synergy) responded instantly and came up with a design that was different from any of the others, unique to our site, more practical than others (all of which were pretty standard) and to top it off, lowest in $/watt. What really sold me was Jeff's level of knowledge and long experience -- he's not a salesman like the others, who dialed up their designs through an iPad app and really couldn't commit to details without consulting with the mother ship, which would have taken forever. Jeff is very good at figuring out how to maximize payoff, not just watt output. He is also up on the latest escapades of PG&E as this behemoth tries to figure out how to deal with growing solar self-generation capacity. We were sweating bullets about getting installed prior to NEM-2. Mike (other co-owner) came out and got the crew (all top-notch) going. The system was done and interconnection accomplished weeks ahead of schedule. The Enphase solution, including real-time monitoring app and upcoming lithium-iron batteries, is elegant. All-around all-star performance. read more

Our project with Synergy began through a recommendation of a friend. From that point on, the project migrated from quote to final installation without any challenges whatsoever. Synergy Solar was committed to ensuring full communication at every stage, including handling of all permitting, and communication with PG&E. The result exceeds our expectations. There are a lot of different ways to install solar, and it's important to work with someone that wants the end product to match expectations. Synergy Solar clearly wants to do that. This is not a difficult evaluation for us. Five starts means that there were no shortcomings. read more

I'm happy to give Synergy Solar my highest recommendation. Jeff and Mike were a pleasure to work with. Jeff provided us with very thorough information both in person and when he followed up with his bid. His extensive knowledge is evident and he does a great job of communicating in layman's terms when needed. He did not pressure us, which I really appreciate. Mike handles the install and was easy to communicate with and coordinate install dates, etc. Both Jeff and Mike were always on time, on schedule and highly professional. I've contracted a fair amount of work on my home over the years and can say they have been the absolute best to work with. I'm now excited to be selling clean power! Thanks Synergy! read more

We recently met with the owner Jeff Mathias at our property to discuss adding solar to our home. We recently experienced a house fire and we thought it was a great time to make the switch.
