I hired this company to do the work on my house that was recommended in a home energy assessment…read morecompleted last year. Initially Alex Minaboo, the owner, came to look the job over and in that visit recommended replacing all the heating ducts in the house. He tried to sell me a heat pump system which I did not want to do since the existing furnace is only three years old. There was nothing in the home energy assessment report indicating I needed to replace the furnace or the ducts. A few weeks later, the foreman (I think that is his role) came by to assess the job, and said he did not think the ducts needed to be replaced as they were still quite new. I opted to not replace the ducts but to proceed with the air sealing of the heating system that was recommended in the home energy assessment. Alex later said the air sealing could cause a problem for the furnace, which he said was too large for this size house. He suggested that adding an additional heat register might mitigate a potential problem with rapid cycling, and I opted to do this. In the course of All Things Good sealing the heating ducts and adding the new register, the blower on the furnace stopped working. Alex deflected and denied responsibility for his company causing the problem, disparaged another company that had installed the furnace, and argued that his company could not be held responsible for damages when something breaks in an old house while they are working on it, referring me to a clause in their contract. To fix the furnace, All Things Good charged $1200.00 in labor costs (for a job that took no more than 2 hours on site) and the blower was about $700 more). I have always thought "if you break it, you fix it" and I was floored by how this was being handled, but since I do not know HVAC systems and could not in good conscience argue that I was certain the breakdown was caused by their work, I proposed we split the bill for fixing the furnace. My offer was refused. Alex then had the gall to argue he was already giving me a discount on labor costs, and threatened that if I did not pay he would put a lien on my house. I paid the bill because it was not worth my time to fight with All Things Good. I see a number of positive reviews here and at least one that is like mine. My experience was very unsatisfactory and I will certainly never use this company again.

The team was professional and fast and they went above and beyond in explaining the water heater and the app. They even installed a new light in my basement so they could complete the work, which is helpful to me as well. And then they came back and installed some additional insulation to mute the water heater noise. Elder and the guys did an excellent job in covering up the entire house and finished the job in 2 days. My house had no insulation in the walls- to very less in the attic. After the insulation my Heat as well as Cold is retained inside the house. Heat turns on once in a 24 Hr cycle vs multiple times in an hour previously. If you are thinking of in wall insulation, it's totally worth it. The quote was the most competitive and they were very flexible. I am still closing out the multiple holes in the wall, will take time as i prefer to do it myself- I had plans to paint anyway .

I was initially impressed with what seemed like a thorough and well-considered estimate. It felt…read morelike the team really evaluated my attic and cooling needs. The addition of two QuietCool fans also seemed like a major plus, as I was already familiar with the product and expected it would significantly help with cooling. When it came to the insulation work, I was very pleased. The crew did an excellent job removing the old insulation and installing the new. They worked efficiently, protected my floors well, and ensured that no insulation debris entered the living areas. That part of the job was handled professionally. However, I was less impressed with the radiant barrier installation. This may partly be due to a misunderstanding on my end, as I expected a different type of material, but the end result did not meet my expectations. The biggest issue, unfortunately, was the installation of the fans. At best, it was very poorly executed. The fans are 16" units with 12" duct openings, yet they were installed directly against the gables, which severely restricts airflow. Proper installation should have included a box or shroud to help direct airflow effectively through the fans. Because of this poor airflow, the fans do not cool the attic--in fact, they appear to make things worse. I can actually watch the temperature on the thermostat increase when the fans are turned on. I reached out to my representative multiple times, but the response was disappointing. I was told they could not take the fans back, and when I asked why the attic temperature increases when they are running, I was told there was no explanation and nothing further could be done. As temperatures continue to rise, I'm left frustrated that I spent $1,200 on two fans that perform the opposite of what was promised, with no meaningful support or resolution offered. UPDATE: After posting my initial review, I was contacted by both the project manager and the owner. I reiterated the reasons for my frustration, explaining that my review reflected my honest impression of what I saw as a lack of clear communication and effective management of the project and customer expectations. The project manager apologized for the communication breakdown and asked if I would be open to giving them an opportunity to make things right. A technician was then sent out, and he took the time to fully understand the issue, carefully examine the installation, and make several adjustments to the original work. He believes these changes will help improve airflow in the attic. Since my attic has some unique characteristics, he also provided helpful suggestions for additional ways to improve cooling and airflow--something I feel should have been addressed during the initial planning stage of the project. Whether these changes will result in significant improvement remains to be seen; I'll have a better sense once the weather warms up. I do appreciate the follow-up and the willingness of the project manager to reach out and try to make things right, and I have updated my review accordingly. That said, I want to be clear that the increase in my rating is largely due to the technician and the time he invested in evaluating the full situation, as well as both implementing and proposing thoughtful solutions.

We had a pretty large job that included cleaning, rodent-proofing, sanitizing, and re-insulating our attic, as well as cleaning, rodent-proofing, sanitizing, re-running our ducting, and laying plastic in our crawlspace. It was a big project that took about a week, and they showed up on time every single day, checked in regularly, and worked hard throughout. Along the way, we discovered a pipe leak, which they fixed without issue. We also needed to reroute our dryer vent, and they handled that as well. Even with these unexpected additions, Eduardo stuck to his original quote, which we really appreciated. The quality of the work is excellent, and we are very happy with the results. On top of that, Eduardo is coming back in two weeks to make sure the rodent-proofing is fully effective. That level of follow-up and accountability really shows he stands behind his work. Overall, Eduardo went above and beyond. Fair pricing, high-quality work, a professional team, and great communication. We would absolutely recommend him.

We first called Attic Kings about 4 years ago after heavy rains led to rats getting into our attic…read more They caused a huge mess, and I was especially concerned about the urine, droppings, old insulation, and fiberglass getting into the rest of the house. Moshe came out right away, inspected everything, and gave us a very reasonable quote to seal all of the entry points, clean and sanitize the attic, deodorize the space, remove all of the old insulation, and eventually replace it with new insulation. One of the biggest concerns for me was cleanliness. We had just installed brand new carpet upstairs, and the attic entrance is right there. Moshe covered everything in plastic and actually created a contained tunnel from the attic all the way downstairs and out the door so the old insulation and debris never traveled through the house. That made me feel much more comfortable about having the work done. Moshe and his team were fast, clean, and efficient, but what I appreciated most was how thorough Moshe was. He took the time to explain everything, sent us detailed photos, and never made us feel rushed. Because we have two attic spaces that connect along the roofline, Moshe did not just seal everything and immediately put down new insulation. He left traps in place and came back for several weeks to make sure there were no rats still hiding somewhere or finding another way in. Only after we were all comfortable that the problem was completely resolved did he install the new insulation. I really appreciated that because the last thing I wanted was to spend money on new insulation and have it ruined again. 4 years later, we still have the trap up there and have not had another rat problem. Recently, we had a completely separate issue with yellow jackets that made an opening near the roofline and got inside the roof area. After pest control handled the yellow jackets, I called Moshe just to ask whether the opening needed some kind of special repair. He came out the very next morning, walked the perimeter of both rooflines, found a few small areas that had shifted or opened over the years, sealed the area where the yellow jackets got in, and even went back into the attic to make sure everything was still secure and there was no evidence of rats. There wasn't. What really impressed me is that this was years after the original work, and he still came out as a courtesy to check everything. That says a lot about the kind of person he is and how he runs his business. Another thing I really appreciate is that when you call Attic Kings, you actually get Moshe. You are not dealing with an automated system, a call center, or a different person every time. He is very hands-on, and the people he brings with him have always been professional, respectful and clean. We even scheduled the original work while we were away from the house, and I felt completely comfortable trusting Moshe and his team in our home. His pricing was competitive, the value was excellent, and most importantly, the work has held up for 4 years. It is getting harder to find small businesses where the owner still answers the phone, shows up personally, stands behind the work, and cares about maintaining a relationship with customers long after the job is finished. Moshe is honest, dependable, and has a lot of integrity, and that goes a long way with me. I would absolutely recommend Attic Kings.

A few days after we met and I signed the contract, the team came out to remove old roof debris left over from a recent reroofing, removed our home's original insulation, and installed fresh batt insulation in both the attic and crawlspace. They also added rodent proofing throughout the attic while they were at it. About a month later we heard critter noises, so I texted them and they came out to inspect. He didn't find anything in the traps but reset them to be safe. Sure enough, something took the bait because we heard it go off! Jose came back shortly after and discovered 2 mice (thankfully no rats), found a gap where the roof met the garage and sealed it up. He ran an ozone generator as a precaution for any smells. A couple weeks after that we heard faint sounds again. Jose returned, found one more entry point, sealed it, and since then there's been total silence! I really appreciated how thorough and persistent they were even after the job was technically done. Solid team, fair price, and they stand behind their work. Highly recommend Attic Kings!

Unfortunately they never responded, so I replied again on October 18, and again, nothing. I called on October 24 and left a voicemail. It's now November 1, and again, nothing. Based on the other reviews, I'm really surprised by this lack of repsonsiveness. I can even appreciate being busy and not available, but I'd at least expect a response saying sorry, we're not taking new projects at this time.

Every sub-contractor that he brought in for specialized pieces like our master shower tile, shower glass, flooring and insulation were friendly and did absolutely top of the line work. He is also very clever at figuring out solutions to curveballs that our house threw and could take our crazy Pinterest pictures and piece them together to build custom solutions like the bench in the master shower. Overall our project included a major overhaul and upgrade to our electrical panel / electrical service to the street, major plumbing upgrades, new windows, a master bathroom addition and a complete interior paint/flooring refresh and remodel including a complete kitchen remodel (with removing load bearing walls to create an open concept) and hall bath remodel. Our house of 16 years is now a sturdy, safe home we can spend the next 50 years in - Travis didn't cut any corners and understood that this needs to be our dream home that will last "generations" as he put it. He's an honest guy with old fashioned values and you just won't find a better team to take on your project.

If you're a homeowner trying to decide between insulation options or worried about crawl space moisture, this crew really knows their stuff. We chose 3" of closed-cell foam and the coverage is excellent -- uniform, properly thick, and fully sealed throughout. They removed all of the old insulation, dealt with leftover ductwork, and corrected issues from a previous installer who hadn't done things properly. The crawl space is now clean, dry, and completely sealed. Closed-cell was absolutely the right choice for our situation, especially as a vapor barrier, and the pricing was very fair for the amount of work involved. Wow! Joseph was my Sun Solar liaison through the whole process of getting solar panels. He recommended some great roofers ( Hernandez roofing) as I decided to go ahead and have a new solid base for my Enphase array. I decided I also wanted to try to phase out my gas furnace and Joseph recommend Enviroair another great company to put in a heat pump that will get its energy from my panels during the day. The process of getting the design of my array and having the panels placed was very smooth. Nick was able to reassure me as to the permitting process and PG&E permissions which can take a minute and Isaac put in a whole new main service panel and connected the new heat pump. Can't wait to get the battery and the EV hook up and maybe even a hot water heater as they made sure to give me more capacity. I love looking at my Enphase app and seeing how many Kilowatts my panels made that day and how many pounds of carbon that reduced! All really great work, and I can see why this company comes up first in the search engines. This is extremely important work they're all doing and I felt like they intuitively understood that and really listened and cheered me on in this process of producing renewable energy and trying to do the right thing for the planet!! read more

Vital's quote was higher than most others we received, but given their reviews, we decided it was worth the extra spend for a clean install. Pre-install had delays and miscommunications. I know this is common with projects, so I remained positive. I was sent engineering plans for my approval. I saw that these revised plans were for a smaller system than what I had originally agreed to. The change would have made it easier for the installers, but would have netted me less energy, with no adjustment to my cost. To the PM's credit, he attempted to draw my attention to these changes when they were sent for my approval, but I nevertheless saw it as a proposed change constructed to benefit Vital with no consideration toward me, and delayed the process even more as I had them change back to the original agreed-upon system size. I remained positive. On installation day, one of the installers broke my new and expensive inverter. I said no big deal, I'll talk to the PM and we'll figure something out. Even though the system wasn't fully functional due to the broken inverter, but I nevertheless paid everything that was due that day, withholding only a documented amount equivalent to a replacement inverter until we can find a resolution. The manufacturer would only replace the broken inverter it with a used device under warranty (i.e. one that another customer has returned and has been refurbished) with a shorter warranty window. Rather than demand a new inverter at the company's expense, which I believe I fairly could have, I proposed options which included a partial credit for the downgrade (and the warranty hassle and ~two months lost solar generation). After waiting weeks for a reply, I followed up and their finance specialist accepted responsibility for the damage IN WRITING and agreed to the credit. I spent hours on the warranty process, found an oversized box, and shipped the broken unit. This is where it unraveled. Right after the resolution, CEO Jason Jackson, got involved for the first time, deflected blame, and said he thinks my equipment was defective (a manufacturing defect somehow caused a piece of hard plastic to snap off?), asked to inspect it and offered to handle the warranty for me. I told him that the package was already shipped, and that I would have very much welcomed his examination and warranty help three weeks ago (rather than the radio silence I received), but the resolution reached, device shipped and warranty in motion. And despite his self-proclaimed "30 years in the industry," didn't appear to have a grasp of the situation as he incorrectly called the inverter a "battery," and required correction. He also accused me of breach of contract for temporarily withholding a small amount due to the breakage. Meanwhile, I noticed flickering lights in several rooms. Nothing suggested a solar connection, so we called an electrician... three visits and $1,300+ later, he traced it to loose connections and a stripped lug in equipment the installers had just worked in, attributing it to the install with a high degree of likelihood. I had been willing to absorb that bill just to move on. Instead, as the CEO kept trying to walk back the written agreement, I was told my warranty might now be partially void because a licensed electrician had worked in the same area, and the Vital threatened a lien on my home while I was withholding the remaining balance awaiting a corrected ledger and the heat detectors their own permit plans required. Five employees of Vital were copied in to the email thread which created an audience, so I eventually decide to email Jason directly to remove the risk of humiliation for him (I detected a hefty ego), and gave him a generous compromise offer. I made major concessions to just get this over with and we finally put it to bed. I was pleasantly surprised that he did not ask me to sign an NDA as part of a compromise, because now it allows me to share my experience here. The field crews were likable and professional, and even the installer who broke the inverter seemed like a knowledgeable, decent guy. Leadership is what failed here, at real cost in time and stress. Do your due diligence, and weigh the ownership of any company you hire. There are plenty of reputable solar companies out there...

That project went so smoothly that we later asked them to install a battery on our older, more complex Marin system as well. Despite the added complexity, they handled both installations efficiently and got everything up and running without drama. Ayelet in the office deserves special mention. She provides near-instant responses to texts and emails, keeps everything moving, and somehow manages to coordinate all the moving parts with ease. If you've ever dealt with solar projects, you know how valuable that is. She had seemingly infinite patience for my never-ending questions, handling them with professionalism and speed. She also helped me apply for relevant rebates and helped interface with the nightmare that is PG&E, making it all look easy. The whole team jumped through hoops to get the system in before the tax break expired. SonoMarin is a small company, localled owned and run by the same people I originally worked with at SolarCraft on our first install years ago, which really shows in the level of care and accountability. Avner and Nick have built a great company. Pricing was competitive--frankly, all three bids we received were in the same range--but the execution and communication set them apart. I would recommend SonoMarin without hesitation.

He found many savings and benefit enhancements along the way. In spite of the solar credit expiring at the end of 2025, David put together an HDM plan far superior to anything I found when getting competing quotes. It simply lowered the cost without complicating ownership or savings or adding any ongoing cost. Speaking of competing quotes, they beat everyone else. All together, I saved about $20,000 without undue complication. Production Manager Jack kept me fully informed along the way. He always responded promptly and clearly to every query. He scheduled and completed the solar installation much earlier than promised. The installers also travelled a long distance outside of their service area to do the job in the Sierra foothills. So, even if you think your home is outside of their service area as shown on Yelp, you might give them a call and see if they can do it. Installer Gio and his team were excellent. Our panels were going on a tile roof and I had concerns about the L brackets pulling up the tiles as they slide under the downhill side of tiles. They ground channels into each of the affected tiles for these brackets so that the roof is still as water tight as a duck's a**. Gio, the electrician and main contact on site was both smart, friendly and patient in explaining the details while the solar panels, Tesla PowerWall batteries and solar inverter were installed. I'm now using Tesla's app to monitor the whole system, which is working perfectly and is fascinating. I couldn't be happier. Thank you, Simply Solar!

We originally chose them a few years ago because they offered free solar panel removal and reinstallation when we eventually needed a roof replacement. The initial install went fine, but trying to get them to honor their contract now has been a nightmare. Bait and Switch: They are suddenly demanding a $3,600 fee for the removal. Even their salesperson admitted this fee was not indicated in our main agreement from 2021, but is now picking apart vague fine print (outside of our contract) to justify it. We have sent the contract over multiple times and asked them to highlight the language where it specifies this charge. Unethical leadership: Leadership is aware of this $3,600 gap, but they don't want to back down. Terrible Customer Service: They are dragging their feet and refusing to coordinate with our roofer, who has been consistently asking for dates to remove the solar. Ignored Emergencies: We explicitly told them we have an active roof leak and asked them to prioritize the removal so we could fix our home. They did not care. Once they finish your initial install, they will abandon you and refuse to give you the time of day. I am reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. If you are looking for solar, be very wary and look elsewhere.

All was well until the refurbished unit bit the dust. I contacted Zach at SolarCraft about getting a replacement invertor, since my prior experience with them was excellent. They recommended a current model invertor, and I hired them. A week later the new invertor arrived at SolarCraft, and Zach coordinated installation for the next week. SolarCraft's technician Talon arrived promptly as scheduled and less than 4 hours later the failed unit was swapped out with the new model. He verified that the invertor was working properly and we were done. I'm very pleased with my experience with SolarCraft's service and employees.
