I immediately started searching Google for places and I must say there were not many to choose from by far. I didn't think any place could take me in a couple of hours on the same day BUT when I called Abington Spa they were so welcoming and compassionate about getting me in to see Amy for a deep tissue massage. Location: when I pulled up to the building and parked I had to walk to front door only to see the small print that the spa was located around back and to park in the back. I was a bit annoyed for wished the receptionist could have stated that on the phone call especially knowing the sharp excruciating pain I was in but anyways. I like the décor of the place very tranquil. Amy greeted me and asked me if I wanted water or WINE.. I immediately smiled and chose wine. Service: the deep tissue massage was so good I loved the pressure she gave and the fact that she asked me if the pressure was good throughout the service. She was really able to dig into the muscle and work thru the kinks. I later found out that she worked at a rehab facility for years and that is where she knew how to identify tough areas. she was a life saver. The only reason I gave this place a 3 star out of 5 was because they didn't have me fill out any forms to find out if I was allergic to anything, if I had any known skin disorders. things that you should ask before working on someone.

Cons: My nails were sore for a few days after. I thought maybe it was due to the powder as I'd never had it before, but after hearing other experiences it's probably due to excessive filing They use 1 pot for everyone for the dip powders. As in, each color has a container, and they dip your finger into that pot and tap the excess back into the container. Over and over with each customer. I looked it up and it's very unsanitary and unsafe to do this because of risk of infections I left it at 3 stars because I was happy with my manicure at the time and it's lasting well. But I probably won't be back due to unsafe conditions. I'm also not a fan of how thick the dip powders are on my nails. My nails do not bend AT ALL. No flex. It feels very unnatural. But I'm not used to acrylics and I guess they're supposed to be similar

They comes off as though you are inconveniencing them by making an appointment. In addition to that they time your visit so you have to tell them upfront what you want on your nails and there is absolutely no room to make a change once you're there. They are very rigid and offer no flexibility. In addition to that if you cancel, they want your card so they could charge you whatever percentage it is that they charge you which is actually like a large portion of what they would charge you for the service which is absolutely ridiculous like you should be able to cancel without getting charged if you call in advance. The last time I went I had to cancel and I didn't get charged because they had an expired card on file. When I called back for another appt, I guess they had put a note in the system that I had canceled and they couldn't charge me, so they tried to update my credit card so that they could charge me if I canceled again. No thank you! As if there arent 1 million other nail salons to go to. The the only positives I could say is they do a pretty good job on pedicures compared to other salons and overall the nail techs are nice.

I also had a brown sugar body scrub and that felt out of this world. My skin was incredibly soft after. I felt so relaxed and calmed which is mind blowing because I'm always tense, anxious and stressed. To be noted, I am a vegan and I love supporting vegan friendly businesses. It was comforting to know that the body scrub didn't have any harsh chemicals or animal products. Oh, another important tidbit, I think the dog also helped put me at ease! And then the treatment room has the prettiest Himalayan salt lamps set up. A very beautiful aesthetic. At the end, I talked with the owner, Erika; and she's also very friendly and knowledgeable. She than continued to huff and puff and kept saying... You know I don't want there to be any surprises.. With the cost! I was taken back by the soak off fee of $30, she said it would take her 30 minutes to get off a $1 a minute! Said it was going to take past closing. Mind you I asked for 5:30 pm appointment and owner said 6pm would be best. At this point I already had told her to go ahead and start. She kept on huffing and puffing I told her hey I'm her to relax I don't like your bad energy and I don't wanted to waste me time... She then said "you're are wasting my time"!!! Had to see a Dr for xrays which showed a dislocated rib on my upper vertebrae. I am now in Physical Therapy and continuous pain. The massage itself: 15 minutes moving my hair around, 15 minutes knuckling under my neck, 30 minutes painfully grinding only big muscles on the outside of my arms and legs and talking the entire time. This was most unbalanced, uncompassionate and inattentive massage I have ever had. The steam room is in not even warm and a glass of wine does not justify ill trained therapists. Should not have scheduled nor generously tipped. Do not recommend.

Then about a month and a half before my wedding I was informed that airbrush makeup was no longer available. But they promised someone would do my makeup just as good as airbrush. Not the case I did my trial makeup for my wedding and I looked terrible. It was such a joke. I prefer not to look like a clown on my wedding day. Also from the beginning it was a nightmare with the contract with them losing paperwork I turned in and then yelling at me and saying that I never sent it in. The most unprofessional business I have ever seen.
