They filed the nail down so much that they broke through my nail and hit the skin underneath and made me bleed! YES-it was painful! Worst part- the woman tried to keep going- filing the same nail! I had to specifically ask for a tissue and band aid and then when I complained on how ridiculous of a job it was- another lady came over, put some glue on top and said "it'll be fine tomorrow, it's not too bad!" WHAT?! I'm sorry I wasn't aware that drawing blood while doing your customers nails was such a normal experience here when I stepped into the salon or I would have run the other way! I got a acrylic fill that was $45 which is a normal price if not normally lower than a lot of other nail places l've been to. For the gel, it was +$10 so I paid $55. They charged me full price to remove the gel manicure and the manicure for my natural nails have the color with tiny bubbles underneath. I pointed this out and the tech abruptly just put another top coat on. It didn't resolve the problem. I went home, ate dinner, watched tv and was getting ready for bed when I noticed one of my natural nails had broken from the side. In another the polish was chipping off from the side to about a third of the nail. Also, a few other nails the polish was chipping off the tips. The picture is of my non- dominant hand! I washed my hands before dinner and that was the only time my hands were in water. I wasn't doing anything but watching TV. I immediately started searching Google for places and I must say there were not many to choose from by far. I didn't think any place could take me in a couple of hours on the same day BUT when I called Abington Spa they were so welcoming and compassionate about getting me in to see Amy for a deep tissue massage. Location: when I pulled up to the building and parked I had to walk to front door only to see the small print that the spa was located around back and to park in the back. I was a bit annoyed for wished the receptionist could have stated that on the phone call especially knowing the sharp excruciating pain I was in but anyways. I like the décor of the place very tranquil. Amy greeted me and asked me if I wanted water or WINE.. I immediately smiled and chose wine. Service: the deep tissue massage was so good I loved the pressure she gave and the fact that she asked me if the pressure was good throughout the service. She was really able to dig into the muscle and work thru the kinks. I later found out that she worked at a rehab facility for years and that is where she knew how to identify tough areas. she was a life saver. The only reason I gave this place a 3 star out of 5 was because they didn't have me fill out any forms to find out if I was allergic to anything, if I had any known skin disorders. things that you should ask before working on someone.
