The girls are all experienced and do a great job. Appointments are very accommodating. All of the employees are very friendly!

I came to Clarks Summit on Business for a few days. While at my conference my back and neck froze up out of no where and I could not loosen it up at all. I really almost cried. I immediately started searching Google for places and I must say there were not many to choose from by far. I didn't think any place could take me in a couple of hours on the same day BUT when I called Abington Spa they were so welcoming and compassionate about getting me in to see Amy for a deep tissue massage. Location: when I pulled up to the building and parked I had to walk to front door only to see the small print that the spa was located around back and to park in the back. I was a bit annoyed for wished the receptionist could have stated that on the phone call especially knowing the sharp excruciating pain I was in but anyways. I like the décor of the place very tranquil. Amy greeted me and asked me if I wanted water or WINE.. I immediately smiled and chose wine. Service: the deep tissue massage was so good I loved the pressure she gave and the fact that she asked me if the pressure was good throughout the service. She was really able to dig into the muscle and work thru the kinks. I later found out that she worked at a rehab facility for years and that is where she knew how to identify tough areas. she was a life saver. The only reason I gave this place a 3 star out of 5 was because they didn't have me fill out any forms to find out if I was allergic to anything, if I had any known skin disorders. things that you should ask before working on someone. read more

I have been in and out of Scranton, PA on business for the past couple of months. A lot of the work we're doing out here is manual labor and after several weeks my back had become very tight. I didn't have time to get a massage between trips at home, so I decided to search the area for a place to have one done in the area. After looking through several reviews and websites, I decided Abington Spa was the right place for me. They were able to fit me in that day and I was also able to schedule another appointment for a couple of days later. Everyone was super friendly and the service was prompt. Kayla was super professional and asked me where I'd like her to focus the 60 mins. She did an amazing job loosening up my very tight muscles. I have tons of knots in my back and being tense isn't foreign to me. I carry all that stuff in my shoulders daily. I'm sure she could tell too! It was painful, but in that good way y'know? When I left I felt immediately better and two days later, I feel even better. After all the plane rides and days working hard, this was such a treat! I will definitely be back on another trip for more treatments. I'd love to get a pedicure and manicure next time! read more

The staff is very nice and looks to take great care of you. However was not as pleased with my pedicure. I didn't feel like the cost of the pedicure was equal to the actual pedicure itself. For a spa i expected a little bit more of a relaxing or higher quality experience. read more

Decided to give it a try after hearing a good recommendation, and was not disappointed. Enjoyed a 60-minute massage and an express scrub with Lisa, who was very responsive to my pressure requests and made sure I was comfortable. The rooms are spacious, tranquil and clean and the staff warm and welcoming. I called for an appointment and they were able to get me in the same day! It's not clearly marked but the entrance is at the rear of the building. If you've never had a scrub before, I highly recommend; it may become your new favorite thing. Amazing and friendly staff I recommend going here for everything they have to offer! Victoria the owner is so kind and a wonderful masseuse. Less than 1 star, more like no stars. Beware!! Spent $300 to have my hair colored as well as a Brazilian blowout done. Neither came out properly. My hair now has yellow stripes in it, after I was more than clear to the stylist that I hated yellow blonde, the blowout didn't take, and when I complained I was given attitude by the owner, who was argumentative about fixing any of it, and then I was told that my texts back and forth with the stylist were threatening (which they were not, and I have every one of them saved), and now I hear they're filing harassment charges because I complained. I never even called the salon! They called me 3 times! The customer service is HORRIBLE! They refuse to be accountable, and to just nicely fix the problem without a battle. I will never set foot in there again, and I suggest no one else does either!! I was informed after the fact, by not only ex employees, but also quite a few other people, that they had the same issues with having color done in their hair at this facility, and sent me pictures to prove it. So funny how their pictures were so similar to mine. I have huge yellow skunk stripes on both sides of my head. And now I'm out $300 and have to pay someone else to fix it. Disgusting! I went here with a bridal party and was very unhappy with my experience. The staff was very friendly, but that doesn't make up for the poor updo and makeup. We were told that there would be 2 hairstylists and a makeup artist. When we arrived there was only 1 hairstylist and the makeup artist wasn't even there yet. We had the spa reserved for the morning so it was just going to 5 of us for hair and makeup. When I was told it was my turn, I said that I'd be right there,I wanted to use the restroom first. When I returned to the chair there was another woman getting her hair done who wasn't even in the bridal party! So we only had 30 min left to get 3 hairstyles completed. When I finally get my hair done it looked nothing like what I asked for and my face and shoulders were covered in hairspray. When I went to get my makeup done I made sure to mention I had oily and acne prone skin but yet no coverup was used on my current breakouts. The black eye shadow used was smudging and it looked like I had a black eye. I didn't complain because there was no time left to fix anything and I was trying to make the bride happy. I was very disappointed in what I received and to add insult to injury I had to pay $85 for it. This place has so much potential. I hope they can improve there services. read more

I had been here previously with a bridal party and while the staff were friendly and took good care of keeping us fed, my bride was very upset at the lack of professionalism and consistency. She had been informed that there would be two working stylists and one make up artist. Only one stylist was doing hair while the other two consistently asked us if we needed anything. This was great, but we were on a time crunch and having every available stylist do our hair at once would have been more sufficient. I had chosen to do my own make up and that of a friend and I was glad I did! I had to fix everyone's make up who got theirs done because the proper steps were not taken to keeping a flawless face on a hot day and they each hated how their skin looked! The salon was 81 degrees with a broken air conditioner and we could have easily been moved to a back room with air..but not one person suggested that. My best friend was so upset in the services which is why I am writing this review. This salon has very great potential and can hopefully utilize this as constructive criticism. read more
