I came to Clarks Summit on Business for a few days. While at my conference my back and neck froze…read moreup out of no where and I could not loosen it up at all. I really almost cried. I immediately started searching Google for places and I must say there were not many to choose from by far. I didn't think any place could take me in a couple of hours on the same day BUT when I called Abington Spa they were so welcoming and compassionate about getting me in to see Amy for a deep tissue massage. Location: when I pulled up to the building and parked I had to walk to front door only to see the small print that the spa was located around back and to park in the back. I was a bit annoyed for wished the receptionist could have stated that on the phone call especially knowing the sharp excruciating pain I was in but anyways. I like the décor of the place very tranquil. Amy greeted me and asked me if I wanted water or WINE.. I immediately smiled and chose wine. Service: the deep tissue massage was so good I loved the pressure she gave and the fact that she asked me if the pressure was good throughout the service. She was really able to dig into the muscle and work thru the kinks. I later found out that she worked at a rehab facility for years and that is where she knew how to identify tough areas. she was a life saver. The only reason I gave this place a 3 star out of 5 was because they didn't have me fill out any forms to find out if I was allergic to anything, if I had any known skin disorders. things that you should ask before working on someone.

I didn't have time to get a massage between trips at home, so I decided to search the area for a place to have one done in the area. After looking through several reviews and websites, I decided Abington Spa was the right place for me. They were able to fit me in that day and I was also able to schedule another appointment for a couple of days later. Everyone was super friendly and the service was prompt. Kayla was super professional and asked me where I'd like her to focus the 60 mins. She did an amazing job loosening up my very tight muscles. I have tons of knots in my back and being tense isn't foreign to me. I carry all that stuff in my shoulders daily. I'm sure she could tell too! It was painful, but in that good way y'know? When I left I felt immediately better and two days later, I feel even better. After all the plane rides and days working hard, this was such a treat! I will definitely be back on another trip for more treatments. I'd love to get a pedicure and manicure next time!

It chipped off in a day because it was all over the sides of my fingers. (This was gel) The next day we went back for wedding services. We were told that we would be the only ones in the salon and that we could bring food and drinks. It took my stylist 2 hours to do my down-do. And it was terrible. Nothing what I wanted. I told her it was fine and left because we were running short on time. But I had it ripped out and redone. My girls were pushed rudely to the side and told to go into the massage room. There were only two stylists scheduled for 6 girls. The owner was rude when she came in. The only impressive stylist was Jordan. I would never go back there and I would never recommend a bride to go there. Brides are supposed to feel special and I felt like a hideous poofball.

Then about a month and a half before my wedding I was informed that airbrush makeup was no longer available. But they promised someone would do my makeup just as good as airbrush. Not the case I did my trial makeup for my wedding and I looked terrible. It was such a joke. I prefer not to look like a clown on my wedding day. Also from the beginning it was a nightmare with the contract with them losing paperwork I turned in and then yelling at me and saying that I never sent it in. The most unprofessional business I have ever seen.

Went to this guy for therapy. I only lasted a few weeks. I was so excited too because he seemed…read moresuper legit on the website. He never even attempted to try understand what I was experiencing. He was always interrupting, telling stories and laughing at his own jokes. This guy did a pom pom cheer for me once when I did something outside my comfort zone. I am 40. That was humiliating and invalidating. He compared my experiences to other clients that he had. For example when I tried to talk a bout my anxiety issues he would tell me a story about another client who had anxiety and what it was about and how he helped her. Great. Except her anxieties were not the same as my anxieties. Anxiety isn't just the same across the board. People experience anxiety for many many different reasons. I could have overlooked that except he told me the story of this client like 4 or 5 times as if it was the very first time I was hearing it and again it had nothing to do with my personal experience. I could not listen to this man tell me that story one more time in an attempt to pretend he understood what I was talking about. Very nice guy overall but just wow.

We get out of the car and before we are even close to the door, the woman steps out and almost frantically tells me we can't go in cause there's no waiting room and we have to be masked up and only one other person can be present ( my husband or brother was holding mom's other hand). We were early and slightly taken aback by the abruptness of this interaction and it was 82 degrees out!!! I'm supposed to let me elderly mother sit in a hot car for 20 minutes in 82 degree weather? I think not and we left. It was hard to get communications because they are only open two days a week so if you call on a Monday and leave a message, you may not get a call back. It happened to me I think twice, so I was already on the fence with this establishment. I don't recommend.
