Phantom Fireworks of Duluth - Here's what we got for about $340. It will make a decent at-home show.

We…read moreended up spending about $340 in total and you can see we got a pretty good amount of fireworks, if a somewhat small variety. We went with some double-shell mortars, some color-changing mortars (both with a couple that have crackles), some mini-repeaters with various effects from crackling showers to double reports and varying colors, some bottle rockets with whistles and reports, some sparklers (for mom- "They're NEON! "), and three mid-tier finale repeaters. Total number of shots acquired (not including bottle rockets or sparklers, of course)? 619 shots (32 mortars, 147 mini-mortar-repeaters, 440 repeater shots). Now, the way we got this was each of us purchased separately with our own IDs and "accounts" so that we could double-up on the use of the "buy 1 get 2 free" coupon and still use the "50% off everything" coupon. My mom used the buy 1 get 2 free" coupon for the 3 mortar boxes and a t-shirt and spent about $120. I used the buy 1 get 2 free" coupon for the three repeater finale boxes and a t-shirt and spent about $160. My sister used the "50% off everything" coupon for the 2 sparkler packs, 15 repeaters, and the bottle rockets- and spent about $60. Would I return? Yeah. The coupons made the purchases worth it. However, we had to finagle the coupon situation to make it work for us... If they'd just price things fairly from the get-go, it'd be a whole lot easier. All-in-all, figuring out what the best value for our money was took about and hour and a half of carefully shopping the store and being good at math. The $26 we spent on the obligatory t-shirts we don't care about felt wrong, but it helped us save on the mortars and the finales...so, meh? Obviously , pricing can be better, BUT overall, we came out with a decent deal...BUT WE HAD TO PUT IN THE EFFORT ON OUR SIDE. So, it was not a great shopping experience. I dread it every year.

Going to the fair makes you feel like the season is changing and the weather is getting cooler!…read more Plenty of rides to choose from with bright lights that will not disappoint! I like the paved pathways through the park. Oh, parking is a bit tough as it was full lots all around with a $10 fee. We chose like many others, to park on a curb about 3 blocks away. It was a walk but a better option than waiting in a big line of traffic for a full lot with no spaces. Show up early! There are some shows included in your ticket price. A man shot out of a cannon and PIG Racing! LOL kinda funny to watch! The Fair in Cumming GA is one of the cleanest, most safe fairgrounds in GA. They have a Cotton Gin display that is pretty neat and can teach your children a thing or two, if they aren't too overdosed on sugar from cotton candy! Huge corn dogs for $10, was a bit pricey and surprising!

It's an annual event, and one of the largest events held at the Cumming Fairgrounds. Family friendly with tons of attractions including games, rides, a petting zoo, and lots of yummy food and drink vendors. Admission was $10, and they do offer deals for unlimited rides and such depending on your plan for your visit. Kiddos 10 and under get in for free which is nice. I enjoyed a delicious cheeseburger and fries, and of course, had to get a frozen lemonade. The funnel cake was calling my name but I ended up deciding to skip it as line was long and I knew I didn't need the extra sugar. I am regretting not enjoying a caramel apple, however! We played a few staple carnival games, and just enjoyed walking around the grounds and taking in all there was to offer. Next year (if I'm not pregnant again), I will definitely try out a few rides!
