I have been to many stores that look like this anywhere from New York to Paris. To others, who are used to to Big Box fabric shops such as Joann's Fabric, this place may seem chaotic. I was so blown away by their prices, that I filled a luggage with my purchases and paid the $30 bucks fee to bring it home to Florida and I still saved a ton. They have everything! No real order, or like we say in Spanish: No tiene pies, ni cabeza. But you can see a little where they tried to organize their chaos. The store is very small and they just have a lot. I also saw a basement where I could see home fabrics, didn't look into them. The sales associate who helped me was also super nice and friendly. Gave me a little extra discount too since I got quite a bit. This shop will be my first stop on my next trip to the Big Apple!

The folks there are very knowledgable and helpful. I've lived here all my life and never knew this shop existed. So happy this place is still around, I'll definitely be coming back for more fabrics.

I was making pants for the first time and they were different colors, so the materials had to work well together as far as weight and appearance. This is a family-owned, Black-owned, women-owned, small business in the Bronx and they don't stop at just offering fabric, trimmings and tailoring. They also host sewing camps for kids and adults. They have various types of machines thta you cna come in to try out and see what might work for you. The prices of their fabrics are reasonable. I did purchase some shears that I was able to find for less money elsewhere, and I was able to return them in exchange for store credit. This policy did not bother me because I plan to return for more fabric, as our cosplay is quickly becoming an annual tradition, but be advised that you will get store credit in lieu of a full refund. Owners, Clarissa and Nadine, are very knowledgeable and a wealth of tips and suggestions. If you're just starting our, they are perfect to answer any questions you may have. I'm fairly new and went in not know what I could do. I basically just explained my dilemma and was directed to the best fabric for what I wanted to construct. It was the first time I ever made pants, two-toned no less, and they came out amazing. When I visited, I had my kiddo with me and she was gifted with some scrap fabric and an elastic band, and a quick tutorial to construct a simple scrunchie. She was super ecstatic and I hope she takes to sewing as I have. I will definitely be regularly visiting for my cosplay construction needs.

I arrived Wednesday evening to pick the prints and was told scornfully "I told you Thursday or Friday" . The man was not only wrong but very combative in his tone and language. I can understand if the prints were not made by the set pickup date but I can not understand the need to act defensively and the attempt to shift blame onto me, the paying client. The man told me I could come back Thursday and I asked if he was positive and he confirmed. He said he would text me when they were done and I left. I walked in Thursday afternoon and the man said "you're here to pick up the prints aren't you, I told you Thursday or Friday and that I would text you". He wasn't apologetic he was annoyed. I countered he confirmed they would be ready Thursday and he became even more argumentative and dismissive. Regardless of the pick up times that were argued, this is extremely poor customer service. I paid in advance for a service which was not rendered in the agreed upon timeframe and instead of being accommodating or at the least kind about it I was met with contempt and made to feel like I was an annoyance. This is inexcusable. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this place.
