I dropped off my carburetor had it rebuilt and when they finish with the rebuild part they test it…read moreon a different motor that's you yours and they call you to come pick it up they tell you that if it needs to be tuned or calibrated to come back with the car or truck and they will adjust or tune it for you but when you come back they have no time and then they want to charge you more to tune it but they had already agreed on tuning it at not additional charge that is not the right way to do business will I recommend this place to any of my friends families or anybody else who might need some work like this No I will not if you take your carburetor there just have them put it in writing and make sure that you get a receipt for the work performed

I took my car…read moreinto another shop for an oil change & maintenance, and when i told them about the noise they saw that my alignment was not done properly at this shop. I was driving on loose nuts and my whole alignment was messed up because of it. I took it back here to Young's to get the issue addressed and resolved at the suggestion of the other shop. Although i was helped right away and the person who worked on my car was super apologetic, the service i got was still pretty disappointing. I asked for the printout (even though i should have been offered one) and it doesn't look fully aligned. Idk.

I can't imagine anyone saying anything negative about Russ and Eric at Steve's Machine…read more I had them do a VW 2332cc engine for my desert car. The way it knocked and with little to no oil pressure, I figured it was junk. Russ took it apart and assed the damage. In his opinion it wasn't nearly as bad as I expected, and I was ready for the worst. He installed a new crank, fit new main and rod bearings with new rings and a valve grind. I had a practically new motor at less than half the price of a new. Three years of abuse later, it's still running strong and doesn't leak a drop. That gave me the confidence to have them build a Pontiac 462ci for my 67 GTO/Le Mans. At his shop, Russ sat down with me over a cup of coffee and gave me his full attention. We discussed my new build, and he gave me his opinion about some of my choices with really good reasoning. Some of his ideas gave me more performance at little to no extra cost. He saved me money on unnecessary over building, while also advising on weak areas. During the build he showed me on my engine, extra things he does on all motors. Shimming lifters, spec'ing ARP bolts, dialing the valve train, and milling the intake manifold to name a few. He doesn't cut corners; I don't think his conscious would let him. Once it was done, they broke it in on their shop dyno. They optimized the timing and fuel curve. It made 419hp @ 4800 rpm and 513 ft/lbs. torque @ 4000 rpm. It's ready to rumble. I go out of my way to recommended them, every chance I get. And for what I got, the pricing was more than fair and reasonable. Nothing but a positive experience. Also, sometimes if you want the best, you have to get in line and wait. That's life!

-Had conflicting diagnosis from Toyota dealership and my local tire outlet on my 2013 Highlander's…read moreroad noise. Probably a wheel bearing, but Toyota dealer's tech said "front bearing," but then master tech said "rear bearing." Tire outlet tech said "both rear bearings." -Fortunately, TL Motors has special microphones (!) that positively identified the left rear bearing as the culprit. At about $1000/bearing, you don't want to be guessing. -Yes, while they were at it, I ended up following their recommendation and having all four struts replaced. But this was not an upsell; I'd been running on original struts and they were shot. Not sure why Toyota dealer (where I'd been servicing the car) missed the disintegrating struts. The Highlander is now riding like new. -Three other pluses: 1) they show you the replaced parts as evidence they've failed, 2) they provide free Uber/Lyft shuttle service, 3) they thoroughly wash and detail the car, which is something the dealer never did.

I was worried that they were affordable for a reason -after all, you get what you pay for, right? Wrong! The mechanics here are so friendly and helpful. Really honest bunch of folks, super thorough in inspecting the vehicle and walked us through each part they thought had problems and why, and were very patient with my mom who couldn't understand English very well.
