I started attending classes at NN in 2023, during its first iteration and am happily continuing to sink into my movement and healing journeys under its fantastic new stewards Catherine and May. They've recently added so many exciting new classes to the schedule; it's positively brimming with enticing offerings. If I hadn't decided to spring for a membership I'd definitely be having trouble choosing which classes to attend. The membership is more than worth the investment! As someone who was born and raised in the Hudson Valley, I'm so grateful that community-minded spaces like this exist. I'm always on the lookout for studios that center inclusivity and don't shy away from the full energetic spectrum of healing -- not just the white-washed, toxic positivity kinds that can too often accompany many healing modalities. There is so much value in being allowed the space to experience whatever comes up on your own terms within the walls of this beautiful, light-filled studio. Shorter story: North Node, and the budding community here is cool as hell. Don't be shy. You'll be welcomed into the fold here with ease and playfulness! Hope to see you in class.

My daughter has been going to Angie's for gymnastics since last year and she absolutely loves it…read more They offer various class times by age plus additional classes offer to advanced gymnasts. My daughter is 6 so for her age group, they break out the kids by level and groups so no group is bigger than 7-8 kids per instructor. They have several instructors at once looking over the kids to ensure safety. I feel like they have the class well organized. This place is definitely geared towards girls instead of boys. For beginners I don't think it matters, but if you are looking for more advanced training for boys, I would go elsewhere. They offer 10 weeks sessions and gives discount if you sign up for multiple sessions (i.e. 6 month/ 1 year). Makeup class is allowed once per 10 week session. They also offer Winter and summer camps and birthday parties. For covid safety, they don't require masks which is great since the kids can get heated doing all the flips and jumps! They check temperature and sanitize the kids hands when they enter the facility. Parents can drop off the kids or stay at a viewing lobby while kids in class. I recommend this place for your little ones!

You can feel how special the studio is on the first visit. Shawn has created a space that anyone at any level can benefit from. The yoga that is offered is much more than the postures. There is a mindfulness that is encouraged in all of the classes that helps you connect with yourself in a new way. Also the focus on meditation has been so helpful for reflecting on how I interact with the world around me. If you want to have a complete yoga experience this is the studio for you.

I know Yoga isn't supposed to be about the other people in the room, but I feel inferior at some of the super hippy studios around me. This is NOT the case at Mudita Yoga Center in Ktown. Shawn runs a very special Yoga studio. Mudita Yoga is a non-branded, non judgmental, safe and inclusive place to practice. Her classes are original and engaging. Shawn is a compassionate and encouraging teacher with a keen focus that makes me feel like she's paying attention to Me! If you go early in the AM you can do early morning meditation and get a morning Fire Ceremony. the workshops at Mudita are also totally awesome. Their philosophy makes it possible & enjoyable for EVERYONE to practice, no matter what the skill level or your outfit. Ohhhhhhmmmmm!

Was condescending and told me how new her type of practice would be new (despite being a long time yogi and attending acupuncture - the meridian flow was initially of interest but she did not ask just made assumptions). Too many cues for her subjective versions of Standard asana, and yet was condescending and corrective as if there on right way to do yoga. Very clear that she has her following and calling out people as if they are doing things "wrong" because they don't put their palms up, down, or sideways is the antithesis of yoga. Her over cued practice was distracting - long warm up with minimal sequence for a flow not dynamic. As a practitioner of over 20 years, I've taken classes with amazing, knowledgeable teachers and have learned to trust myself. l, and recovering from injury while trying to find grounding is what I need and did not find this a safe space to practice. I also really love the pose variation and the sometimes more stretchy liquidy feel of the flows. Mara is without a doubt the best instructor I've gotten to practice with; her cues are so clear and make you engage muscles/soften things you didn't even notice, and her guidance is so gentle and suggestive that it isn't as "now this now this now this" as sometimes classes can feel. I look forward to her class all week I almost feel myself chilllllll out as I walk in on Sundays. Another really important thing for me is that NP Rock is most welcoming, non-elitist, accepting yoga community and it's so purposeful that it makes me want to contribute to the feeling, too.
