Did extensive search on endurance werx for a bike fit, emailed with some personal history, disappointed that I never heard back.

I finally got around to making a long overdue appointment with John. My main goal was making sure I was comfortable on my bike and not in a position that could cause an injury. John spent a lot of time evaluation my bike's current setup, taking body measurements, and discussing any goals or concerns I had. He has a 3D tool that scans points of the bike and creates a computer model of the bike with all critical measurements. I then rode for a bit with a motion sensing unit hooked up across various points on my body. I got to see a real time stick figure of my body moving on screen with a couple dozen metrics being recorded along with video capture. He quickly picked up on a few areas of concern, such as my seat being set back too far. He explained every adjustment he wanted to make and why. First we focused on the back end (seat position, height, crank length, cleat placement, etc). The effect was immediately noticeable. It opened up my legs so they weren't hitting my stomach and i got over the top of the pedals to generate more power. The front end involved changing the stem height and length, along with other minor adjustments. Interestingly, many of the changes were things I didn't think I could do or wouldn't have considered, but he explained how it matched my geometry. My arms became more relaxed, I was more comfortable, my legs were generating more power, and I wound up in a more aero position. Now I can make some minor tweaks over the next few weeks and do a few evaluation rides before heading back for a follow up appointment. I got a detailed PDF with notes, measurements, things to watch for, minor tweaks to make, etc. This fitting was worth every penny. read more

This was extremely disappointing, completely unhelpful, and expensive. I went for a fitting because I had anterior knee pain while cycling. After my 3 hour fit, I went for a 30 mile test ride and the knee pain became 5x worst! I was limping for 3 days. Prior to the fit, I asked the owner (Chad) to make sure any bike parts I would need to improve my position would be in stock and ready for me because I was leaving for a long 500 mile trip a week later. He said no problem, and during the fitting, I was told I didn't need any new parts. But a week after emailing Chad telling him how my knee pain was drastically exacerbated, he told me I need a new seatpost - one that he doesn't have. In fact, he told me this on the day of my departure! He said he has "LITTLE CONFIDENCE YOU WILL NOT EXPERIENCE PROBLEMS IN THE FUTURE" unless I get the seatpost. If that's the case, I should have been told on the day of the fitting; not left in the wind without a proper fit, prone to injury. No refunds. No exceptions. read more

This is a belated review. I just thought to write it as I found myself recommending the business to a friend. I had a fit with Chad in May 2023. He fit my gravel bike and road bike. I would note that he did my gravel bike fit the day before I rode The Great North race and then a few weeks later raced Unbound 200 in Kansas. Pre fit I had been having knee tracking issues and could never get comfortable in the saddle on longer endurance racing/rides. Chad was a total pro. He was patient, worked through testing of a ton of saddles and made real adjustments that not only meant I got through my summer events without discomfort (well, other than the discomfort of the events!), but the changes seemed to better optimize my power. Fraud? As a Google Local Guide, I do not take my reviews lightly. I purchased a bike from Chad, who said he was the owner. I can't speak to his training or fitting skills, but it seems that he has no problem lying. I purchased a bike from him that he said he had previously owned. He told me that the bike was scratch and nick-free, which it was not. That was the 1st lie. He didn't tell me this until after I committed to a 4-hour round trip, and I had arrived. He also neglected to tell me that an integral part, the charger for the bike, was not going to come with it as these bikes do. He said he only had one and needed it for the store. I was understanding about it all and bit my tongue because I just drove a decent distance to get there. (He knew how far I was driving.) So I get home and notice that the cassette on the bike was a lower-end model and not the one he advertised. He did agree to replace it, so that was good. I had to drive another 4-hour round trip. When I got there, he was putting on the new cassette and was struggling. This was when I should have backed away because he shouldn't be struggling to put on a $500 cassette, which I paid to upgrade to. Parts fit or don't. As an ex-bike mechanic, I cringed watching him but he did get it on and I hoped things would be fine. When I got home and put the wheels on the bike, there was another problem. It turns out that he forgot to add the necessary spacer, so the shifting did not work. He sent the spacer to me. Turns out that in the process of forcing the cassette onto the driver, he may have shaved enough off the parts so they are no longer compatible. Either that or they were always defective and he should have not sold them to me. Maybe he knew that and figured he'd get away with it. I proposed a solution that would be an inexpensive fix. Not ideal as a consumer but I was trying to be accommodating. I have owned businesses, so I gave him the benefit of the doubt. I was very patient. This whole process is now approaching a month and I have a bike I can not ride. He has not returned any of my messages. It's obvious that he does not know what he is doing as a bike mechanic, and I hope that he is better at his other services. One thing is clear though. We are dealing with someone that has no problem deceiving. If he knew what he was doing, this wouldn't have happened. If he was honest, I never would have bought the bike. If he was honest, this would have been resolved. I hope this helps someone. If anyone wants to see a copy of our communications or lack thereof, please reach out. Had my first bike fit today. Bought the Canyon Endurace 6 months ago and haven't been able to get any meaningful use due to discomfort and numbness. Minor adjustments to the stem and height, along with a new saddle, got me in a completely new riding position. I spent two hours this evening pursuing the city. My only thought at the end of the ride was, I could go another 2 hours. In addition to the great fit, Chad was incredibly generous with his time and knowledge. Fit was worth every penny. read more

This is much more than a 1-time fix for finding the most comfortable position on the bike. You will walk out of there with a better understanding of cycling mechanics as a whole. John explains how your body position is connected to your output on the bike and what impact each adjustment point will make on how you will feel and perform. I feel confident that I will be able to pinpoint small opportunities for improvement in the future and will always have the knowledge gained from the fit session. When I got a bike fit done last year, I went to a shop in Brooklyn. The guy who did it came well recommended and, being new to cycling, I was happy with the service I received. After getting a new bike this year, I needed another fit and tried to arrange it with the same guy in Brooklyn. After waiting 5 days for his response to my first email, then getting completely ghosted on my reply, I took to the web and found enduranceWERX. Having had my fit done a few days ago, I can confidently say that I had no idea what I was missing when it came to a bike fittings... Booking was a breeze, done all on their website. No unanswered emails here. My fit was done by Allen. He was beyond thorough, explaining every adjustment he was making, what my body wad doing that demanded the adjustment, and how the new positioning would improve the comfort and performance on my bike. When tweaking something, we'd make an adjustment, give it a go, move it some more, and give that a try too. It was nice to see that he didn't have an "I adjusted it once, so it's fine now" attitude. They work with the feedback you and the computer give to really hone your position, even if multiple tries are required. I think we spent the first 45 minutes just getting my cleats in the right spot (apparently I have very atypical feet)! During the fit, you're hooked up to all manner of sensors to get accurate computer feedback on your motions. There's also a camera so you can see how your position has been improved before and after the fit. I cannot recommend getting your bike fit done here enough! read more

I went in for a fit today and it was a great experience! I ride about 4 times a week and fell into trying self-diagnose different issues I was having. If you ride more than 2 times a week and haven't ever been fit for your bike it's definitely worth it. Professional bike fit, not just for pros! About me: previously light cyclist (a loop or two around central park on weekends and a couple of 15-30 mile bike rides a year, eg Five Borough Bike Tour). Got my hybrid bike stolen around the same time I decided to give triathlon a try 18 months ago. Bought my first entry level road bike (Scott Speedster) from my local shop which came with a "basic" bike fit, which basically consisted of making sure my crotch did not hit the top of the frame when I stood on the bike and "adjusting" the saddle. Since then I have used the bike quite a lot, raced 7 sprint/Olympic distance tris, improved my fitness significantly and dropped 30 lbs along the way. I always found riding in the "road" position uncomfortable but put it down to being used to the hybrid at first, thought just needed "time to adjust". Unfortunately aches and pains only got worse and despite improved fitness and significant decrease in my swim and run times, my bike splits were not much better than when on the hybrid. Plus those brick legs..... After talking to people and reading online I decided to take the plunge with a professional bike fit. I figured at worst I would lose money and see no change and conclude that cycling was just going to be something I had to put up with to do tri's. I asked around and was recommended a few options but decided to go with Chad at EnduranceWERX. It was expensive (all professional bike fits are) but after reading a few raving reviews about him online and finding how easy it was to make an appointment online, I went with him. The location was also pretty easy to get to: just a block or so off the Adam Clayton Blvd exit in the Northern side of Central park. I waited 3 weeks after my fit to make sure I was confident on what I write on this review. Long story short, this bike fit has been one of the best investments I have ever made. Chad was extremely knowledgeable, calm and involved. He took the time to explain absolutely everything and provided all the information I needed. He patiently answered all my questions (and believe me I had a lot) and even gave me useful tips about pedaling technique and cycling in general. It really felt like a 2-way interaction rather than someone just making changes according to a machine read. The moment I came out of Chad's shop I felt the difference immediately, did a loop around the park and dropped a couple of minutes off my PR, without even trying much! Ever since I feel so much more power in my legs, much less fatigue and the back aches are almost gone. Cycling is finally fun again! Bottom line: I wish I had done this much sooner. Now I know it is true, a professional bike fit benefits even beginners, it's expensive but well worth it. This is the only bike fit I've ever had so cannot compare, but even though I have only ever met Chad once on the day I had my fit I would definitely recommend him without hesitation! read more

Chad did an excellent job on my bike fit. I had a retul fit done when I bought my Spec. Tarmac but I knew I wanted to lower/slam my stem. I was concerned about how much extra weight that would put on my hands - because I already had some pressure there when on the hoods. Chad slammed my stem, lengthened it, raised my saddle, moved it forward and so rotated me around and stretched me out a little. I'm now more aero AND more stable and comfortable in this new position. He patiently explained why he was doing everything and asked for feedback along the way. Did a 5 hr ride two days after the fit and loved it. Worth every penny. Highly recommended. read more
