I showed up for an appointment and the girl just sat there helping her friend and said she didn't even know I had an appointment then one time the guy did my tip totally wrong. The manager refused to fix it and wanted me to pay again so I needed to go somewhere in the guy took off all my nails so I didn't have a Choice then I gave them another chance and another incident happen where they didn't honor an appointment and then I went again today and the girl all the same one who doesn't speak English sat and didn't want to give me an appointment when I always tipped nice. Came here as a walk-in on a Sunday afternoon and had a wonderful experience with Naomi as my technician for both gel manicure and regular pedicure. She was efficient but also made sure to take her time to make sure things were done well. She always checked with me to make sure I liked the color and my nail length/shape so that I left happy. My only complaint is that I didn't get a hand massage or lotion after my manicure (maybe cuz it's gel?) but I did get a nice foot scrub and massage during my pedicure. So I was in the area and needed to get my nails done ASAP and found this spot through Yelp. It definitely has its pros and cons but the end result was spectacular! Cons: - wait times (there were not too many technicians available when I went so I did have to wait about 20 minutes on a Tuesday morning even though there weren't many customers) - ambiance is just "eh"- area is clean enough but doesn't feel like a super fresh spot - music was blah- romantic sort of stuff- and the manager was all about it. In fact at one point I was vibing to some chill r&b type stuff and he asked an employee to change it back to his stuff lol Pros: - good selection of colors for gel (ask for the samples to look at- not just those on the wall) - Very friendly and competent staff (the front desk girl was super sweet in helping me find the color I was looking for) - my technician, Rebecca, was not only very sweet but she is SO detailed and great at what she did. Found this place by luck while in the area. I had actually tried to get my nails done at my regular spot but since it was a Saturday and I didn't have an appointment, I wasn't able to and thought my nails would have to look crazy for the next couple of days. Thankfully I decided to walk into Encore Nails. Even though the place was busy, within 5 minutes of walking in, I was sitting in a chair and getting my nails done. The staff was super friendly and they have a large selection of gel nail colors. The pricing is also very affordable, specially in comparison to places near my home in Miami Shores. I liked how my nails came out however, upon further inspection after I had left, I realized a few of my nails were crooked. Nice vibe and music playlist 3. Everyone speaks fluent English. This is big for me as a Latina who is much more comfortable communicating in English. They are always wearing and changing their gloves, washing their hands, they even use a new nail file and buffer for every mani and pedi.
