The receptionist is so nice, she kept constant communication with me via email to get my boyfriend and I seen together, I had emailed her the insurance copies so that everything was updated and ready for our appointment. What I like about this office, is Dr. Palhan does not recommend that you DO NOT NEED. She understands people are low on income and if she sees something you truly need then she will make the best judgement call per your health. They even gave me a small discount for my visit. Found Dr Pathan on Yelp, good reviews, 5 minutes from work. 1st appt was told xrays are necessary, I had prior dentist visit with X-rays less than 6 months ago(now new insurance). Dr recommended I get those xrays. Did that 2 days later, emailed to Dr office, made 2nd appt. Arrived, got into seat with xrays displayed on screen. Dental assistant went to get Dr on xrays. Came back, XRAYS TOO DARK CANT USE! I Left! Why not call me when received to tell me 'too dark'?! Saves everyone time. Don't understand digital xrays too dark-turn up the brightness! Just wants more $$$ per new patients. Watch out! I'm sure Mint Dentistry also follows the laws, and knows acceptable digital X-ray standards. Yet to say they are dark, fuzzy, blurred when those xrays were used during the exam, just questions the 'standard' ADA dentists subscribe to. read more

I had set up an appointment for a later date, but today, my unfinished root canal's structure (done at a different practice) began to waver and collapse upon an unseemingly force: an animal cracker. A turtle to be exact - which is funny since it's a reptile (get out of here, turtle!). I called Dr. Palhan's office and spoke to a very friendly woman named Tricia, who advised that Dr. Palhan was double-booked today. When I told her what had happened, she helped to squeeze me in but I had to head in right away. I was thankful! I had initially wanted to get the root canal finished here because of a terrible experience I had with Jefferson Dental, and I also eventually wanted to get a bridge done along with a whitening treatment. When I showed up, I was greeted by Tricia and Dr. Palhan. They were both very warm and welcoming. Rochelle, the dental hygienist, was also very friendly and took my dental x-rays. She kept apologizing in case the x-rays were uncomfortable, which I thought was sweet because everyone knows and expects that there will be some discomfort. When Dr. Palhan assessed the state of my unfinished root canal, she took care in explaining exactly what was wrong and all of the options that were available to me in treating the problem. I also inquired about the bridge and whitening treatment, and she took time to carefully explain what the procedure of a bridge and a dental implant would entail, and how long the process would take. Tricia, then, explained the cost of what each procedure would be and explained what my insurance plan would cover. I was surprised to find that Dr. Palhan's prices were very reasonable, and was pleased to find that I felt confident in entrusting her with taking care of my teeth. She made me feel comfortable about moving forward with her care because, for once, I didn't feel rushed to make a decision right away. In fact, she recommended that I take some time to research each procedure and think things over so that I could make a better-informed decision. I also appreciated the fact that she wanted to educate me in each step of the process and wanted to ensure I understood the pros and cons of each procedure. I think that's key to getting your patients/clients/customers to trust you and to keep coming back. Dr. Palhan then offered to put a temporary filling in my broken tooth (to stabilize it until my next appointment), but later found that it was best to extract a piece of it since it was barely hanging on (queue song reference). She and Rochelle did all of this with such care and empathy that I didn't leave without wanting to give each of them a hug. For once, I can actually say I'm looking forward to my next dental appointment. Because I know I will be well taken care of by Dr. Palhan and her staff! read more

Pros: ~Friendly/attentive Staff (was constantly asking if I was comfortable or in pain) ~Impressive technology- instantly uploads x-rays to big screen in front of you. ~Next day appointment ~Minimal paperwork Cons: ~None really. If you are going to pull a tooth here (hehe) to get me to find something I would say that the walls are very sparse. Not a lot to look at while you are waiting besides just a blank wall. Honestly I could really care less as I understand they just opened and I was on my phone anyway, but some people in the area might be used to a little more visual pampering from other places and might find it off-putting. ******************************************************************************************************************* This place just opened up down the street from me and I was able to set up an appointment the day before I went in (unlike the other place I went to last time that had a 2 week wait for an appointment). Staff was super friendly. Paperwork took maybe 3 minutes total. I was really impressed that the x-rays were instantly uploaded to a big screen in front of me as they were being taken for my and the Docs viewing. I was there about 2 hours getting a deep gum and tooth cleaning and it was a pleasant experience and Dr Palhan was very nice and did a great job of explaining everything, asking if I was uncomfortable, and showing me areas of my teeth that needed work on cleaning and improvement without sounding berating or condescending. Dr. Palhan is great and her "dental" staff is super nice (front office gal, not so much). I really like the convenience of the office, it's so close to my work and I can get in and out in under an hour. The Dr. and hygienist do a thorough job with the cleaning and explaining any questions I may have. I especially really like the easy X-ray machine, no more hard squares that cut into my cheeks. Best dentist experience I have ever had. When your appointment says 9am, it REALLY IS at 9am! I've been to so many dentists where a 9am appointment means you get there at 8:45-9am and wait around till 9:30-9:45 to finally be seen if you are lucky, I've wasted so many hours in countless other offices. Also there is absolutely NO way you will forget about your appointment, they will call/text you a week before and also a day before and again the day of to make sure you will not forget, which is great! I've always had to try to write my appointment down on every calendar or reminder in my phone/ Home/ Work to Make sure I didn't miss my appointment, no longer a problem. The staff and the Dr. herself are all extremely welcoming and never made me feel like just another patient. Throughout my checkup they constantly ensured I was comfortable and the dentist spent a good amount of time with me to go over my x-rays and things I should look for, she even gave me tips as well as her opinion on how my current braces were doing and offered to give me a look over before my braces were scheduled to be taken off so that I could have an experienced 2nd opinion and go to my orthodontist visit prepared. Came here because of the 5 star reviews but ended up with a bad experience. First off they spam you like crazy to remind you of your appointment and secondly the staff is rough and incompetent. I explained to the assistant that I had pain near my wisdom tooth but that didn't matter because the assistant was really harsh getting my X-rays. Well then she complained the machine is broken so she sends a different assistant to try, same results. Finally they get the X-rays, but they are not gentle with your mouth. This office is so professional and seriously cares about your pain and level of comfort. I had a horribly painful molar tooth that needed to be pulled. Dr. Palhan made sure I felt absolutely no pain during the procedure and after the numbing wore off, had little to no pain at all. Within 24 hours, my mouth felt normal again. When I requested that I only wanted a cleaning for my 2 daughters and did not want xrays done at this time the dentist told me that she does not let a parent dictate treatment plans. I told them that I had another cleaning allowed for the year and I would consider the xrays at that time. Dr pelhan told me she would not do a cleaning 2 months apart even though my insurance allowed for that. The exam given to my daughters were awful and she made them feel very uncomfortable. First time patient, went to see Dr. Palhan yesterday to fix a broken tooth that I waited way too long to get checked out. She and her staff were amazing! Very friendly and personable. I ended up needing to have a root canal done for the first time in my life. I had always heard horror stories about having root canals done and the pain thats involved so when she told me I needed to have one my heart about sank. She explained everything to me and even drew a diagram of what it entails. She made me feel so at ease and comfortable especially after she promised there would be no pain, I said let's go for it. Well she was right! No pain. Took about 45 min to get it all cleaned up and a temp crown in place. I never thought I'd say it but "I'm actually excited to go back to the dentist" in a week to get my permanent crown set. For anyone who doesn't have a regular dentist they like or anyone who hasn't gone to the dentist in years, I'd recommend seeing Dr. Palhan and her staff. It really was a great experience. read more
