She is long due for my review! I have nothing to say, but the best Dentist in all of DFW!! She treats you in a manner that, You want to come for another cleaning!! And who says that? Bedside manner is at 100%. She takes her time to explain to you in details what's going with your teeth, takes the most educated approaches that are best for the patient and not for the office. She makes you feel comfortable about yourself and your teeth. If there is something that needs addressing, she will make it right and her team are on board with communication. She motivates me to keep doing what I am doing and that I am turning out great! As soon as you walk into the office she is the first person I saw. Man was she happy to see me and my boyfriend back. I had not been back in a year and she remembers details about us that, I didn't even remember telling her. Her energy to take care of you is off the wall. Was seen at my appt time, everything organized, X-rays, Exam, procedure, cleaning, and pay with any follow up appt's. The receptionist is so nice, she kept constant communication with me via email to get my boyfriend and I seen together, I had emailed her the insurance copies so that everything was updated and ready for our appointment. What I like about this office, is Dr. Palhan does not recommend that you DO NOT NEED. She understands people are low on income and if she sees something you truly need then she will make the best judgement call per your health. They even gave me a small discount for my visit. I can keep going on and on, but never have I just been treated this good at any other dental office.

I realized I didn't get a reminder email/call so I gave them a call this morning to confirm my appointment. The lady on the phone asked if I could come in at 9:30. That would have only given me 20 minutes to get there. I asked, is my appointment not scheduled for 10:30? She said it's actually 10am. I knew that was inaccurate but obliged. I got there at 10am. I sat there until 10:30 before I was called back. When I got back there, the tech said I was scheduled because I was having pain. I said no, I'm just here for a cleaning. He informed me that there's no way they could do a cleaning today and I was scheduled for something else. We both walked back to the front and he and the front desk went back and forth about what's scheduled and what could and couldn't be done. I told them to just cancel me and I would just leave. I would have been fine if they mistakenly didnt schedule me for today and was honest and let me know so I didnt drive all the way there for no reason.

I have excellent insurance but some providers require me to pay up front and be reimbursed. I was told that insurance would be verified and that they would submit everything for a coverage estimate prior to treatment. After my exam and X-rays, I was informed that I had periodontal disease and would need scaling and root planing. I was also told I had approximately nine cavities and was strongly encouraged to proceed with laser treatment that was not covered by insurance. At no point did I feel I was given clear, conservative options or a breakdown of urgency versus elective procedures. The initial visit resulted in a $200 charge, and I was quoted approximately $800 for the recommended deep cleaning. Because the diagnosis felt significant, I sought a second opinion as I've never had periodontal issues and receive regular cleanings (I worked in the dental industry for years). At another dental office, I was told that I do not have periodontal disease and do not need scaling and root planning cleanings. Their review of my X-rays showed no signs supporting that diagnosis, aside from two isolated pockets near areas where my wisdom teeth had previously been extracted. Then was informed I have two areas on my molars that needed very small fillings on the occlusal areas. They were shocked my Mason Dentals treatment plan! Based on this second opinion, I'm concerned about the difference in diagnoses and the treatment plan I was given. I would recommend getting a second opinion before proceeding with Mason Dental.
