My dentist referred me to Dr. Dominguez and it was simple to arrange an appointment. Very friendly and helpful. The actual procedure was totally painless. Even administering the deadening shot was not even felt. She gives a topical/numbing agent first. She lets you watch a movie if you would like while the procedure is going on. She explains every single thing she is doing so there are no surprises. It felt like the procedure took 15 minutes but it was probably longer since I got at least 1/3 of the way through my movie. I am on day 3 of follow up and am having no pain. My tooth is a little tender if I accidentally chew something on that side but she said not to, so I don't. My husband saw her years ago for an abscess drainage and he had the same experience. Her staff is very kind and helpful. During a "routine cleaning," my general dentist saw symptoms of an abscessed tooth, and referred me to Endodontic Excellence. They were able to get me on their schedule quickly for a consultation. I did have some initial confusion where I thought it was a one day thing, but that was because my general dentist incorrectly told me this. I thankfully was not in pain with my abscess, and I think that is why my procedure was not same day. I understand needing to reserve opening for true emergencies. Dr. Wang did my root canal (a first for me), and Alexa was her wonderful assistant. Alexa and I talked a bit before the procedure, which relaxed me. I was offered headphones to listen to music versus dental equipment, but declined them as I wear hearing aids and headphones will cause them to squeal. Honestly, I enjoyed listening to Dr. Wang and Alexa throughout the procedure. They have a wonderful, respectful relationship with each other, and the procedure when very smooth. I also was amused by Alexa telling Dr. Wang all the pop culture updates. I believe having a great rapport with the staff is the sign of an excellent physician. They sent me a large number of documents and disclosures, but never clearly stated the cost of the visit. When I arrived, they performed a scan that I questioned, since I had already completed one just days earlier with the referring dentist. If they already had that information--or could have requested it--why repeat it? It felt unnecessary, especially knowing I'm a cash-paying patient. After going through all the paperwork, the large fee was only disclosed at the very end, which is completely unacceptable. When I addressed it, the manager argued and claimed their staff always discloses fees. That simply didn't happen. It became my word against theirs. I was told this would be a consultation to discuss the cost of a procedure--not an unexpected charge for services I didn't clearly agree to. Very misleading and disappointing experience. I would not recommend this place.
