Dr. Sandy Wang is a very arrogant and unprofessional endodontist. She is very much money minded. She was recommended to me by my dentist so I went to Sandy Wang, which was a big mistake. She wasted my time and money. She charged me $200 for initial consultation which is very expensive compared to what my current Endodontist charged me ($80 for exam + x-rays + scanning). She said my root canals, which were done previously, have to be redone as they got infected again. I said I will treat the one that is bothering me now and the other one later according to the budget. The initial estimate she had given me to treat tooth #4 was $350 and another $350 if the tooth is calcified which she cannot tell until she actually sees it. I said okay and made an appointment in Flower mound as she was not available in Plano for another two weeks and I wanted to get the treatment over with. On the day of the appointment, I drove all the way to Flower mound from Plano. The lady in the front hands me a sheet with new payment estimate, which had totally different numbers than what they originally told me. The new numbers were $1155 (CBCT scan $345 + Post Removal $450 + $350 Root Canal) + $350 if the tooth is calcified. I was shocked to see the amounts and asked the receptionist (forgot what her name was, she was very nice and apologized many times) why the amounts are different than what they originally told me. She said she is not aware and will ask the doctors. Dr. Wang comes and tells me that she looked at my x-rays right before my appointment and realized that there is post in my tooth for which she has to charge $450 because it's hard to remove. She was charging me $345 for the scanning, which is ridiculous. I asked her why she didn't call me and tell me before my appointment and she answered in an ignorant manner. She is not professional at all for failing to let a patient know about the estimate changes in advance. She is very arrogant and not apologetic at all. I just want to warn people not to visit her and to save money and peace of mind by not going to her. Below are her estimates: Image #1: Bicuspid Retreatment is what I was doing (I said I will treat the molar later). You can clearly see the hand written note that I have to pay only $300 + $50 deductible, plus another $350 if there is calcification. Image #2: Here is where she changed her estimate for Bicuspid retreatment and added costs like CBCT ($345) and POST Removal ($450). She just wants to make money by adding unnecessary costs. Extremely unsatisfied with my experience here, I looked for another endodontist and went to Frisco Endodontic group and got the root canal done for $249. I needed an emergency root canal but my regular dentist couldn't fit me in so unfortunately they recommended me here. 1- The original quote was $1500, when I got there it went up to $2000! I asked for a discount as I would pay up front. They only gave my $300 off, gee how gracious. 2- The dentist needs to take more care in numbing patients! I was in tears after she poked me. I've had lots of cavity work recently and my dentist has never hurt me when numbing. 3- I've never had a root canal before so I didn't know what to expect. I was anxious the entire time, cried half the time and my jaw was beyond sore the numbing didn't help that pain. Yes they offered a break but no laughing gas was ever offered. 4- They put my temp crown back on but it came off 4 days later on a holiday weekend!!! Once I complained they said it can happen but they did not warn me of this at all. My crown cracked, I had to pay my other dentist for a new one and had to take time off work to take care of this in time before vacation. 5- I requested a refund of some kind considering the experience was not upscale and inconvenienced me afterwards. I have never had an issue with my regular dentist even being in the chair for an hour- hour and a half. They only offered $100 refund! Yes everything is taken care of, no problems now but the experience was not worth paying now $1600 all done. I was referred to Dr. Wang for a root canal on a large filling done years ago. Unfortunately, the tooth had major problems that could only be discovered after the cap was removed. Dr. Wang and her fantastic dental assistant worked through their lunch and well into the afternoon in order to complete the root canal in one sitting despite all the issues! All of her equipment is state of the art, and she was very careful to talk me through the entire procedure. Her "bedside manner" is absolutely fantastic and she even personally called me that night to check on me. The next morning her dental assistant called again just to be sure I was still doing well. BEWARE of your wallet and the pricing scheme at this place. I was referred to Flower Mound Endodontics. It was a terrible experience. I had an 11 am appointment, I was not seen until 12:30. When Dr Wang finally saw me, she talked to me for about 3 minutes and said I had the option to take a special 3D X-ray for extra money . The 3D X-ray was not part of the $1600 original quote. If the tooth could not be saved according to that 3D X-ray , the office was going to charge me over $600 to use machine plus a $200 "consulting fee" for Dr Wang to tell me she wouldn't work on the tooth. Since I was appalled of the price gouging , I opted to go someplace else. Amazingly, The secretary advised me that she charged me $200 for the 3 minute consultation with Dr Wang about opting to use the 3D X-ray. I don't know if Dr Wang is a good dentist, but I do know that the pricing scheme at her office felt like (and was) a "shake down" I rarely write reviews, but I felt like I should WARN others about the terrible experience. Stay away, this doctor is a complete ripoff. I had to pay $150 Before i even saw the doctor. How do you determine how much before you see the patient? Charges $84 for 2 xrays. another $80 to tap my tooth and scrape it (less than 2 minutes of work). Then i receive a bill 4 month later for an additional $120, because my insurance did not cover additional billed items. Complete rip off. I went for a second opinion, xrays were taken for free, and evaluation was done for $0, same diagnosis as this doctor. $337 for something another doctor (VS dental, Frisco) did for free. I was told by her office girl, Marie, that there would be a $350 charge for "calcification" that would not be covered by my insurance. I paid what I was told to pay and did not think anything about it until I got my claim back. I did not see any mention of this fee on my claim. I called my dental insurance company to confirm that this was not sent to them. My insurance company said this cannot be charged separately from the root canal fee and that as a contracted provider she is required and has agreed to send all fees on claims to them. Futhermore, as a contracted provider she has agreed to charge patients only the agreed upon rates with my dental insurance company. She is playing the system to charge patients more than what she is supposed to! Like Sreddy said below, save yourself the used car salesman tactics and money and go to another endodontist that isn't committing fraud by falsifying claims sent to insurance. read more

It isn't often that I use the word "Amazing" to describe a service, but in this case, Dr. Sandy Wang, Frisco Endodontics, and her staff went beyond what anyone could have expected from an office visit. In a rare occasion, I experienced a severe driving pain in a lower left molar. My general dentist referred me to Dr. Wang. They were kind enough to fit me in near the end of the day as they wanted to treat the tooth before the pain became exasperated. The issue was complicated as there was an abscess and residual root canal issues. Dr. Wang walked me through the procedure prior to commencing with it and updated me with the progress along the way. Two- and one-half hours later (after 7:00 PM), we were finished, and I felt fine. She was able to preserve a crown which we had initially believed may have need to be replaced. Dr. Wang and her staff are extremely courteous, professional, politely communicative, and dedicated to having the patient leave with a smile. Hopefully, I will not be utilizing their services again for a while, but in the event I need such service, I would not see anyone else. read more

I cannot express in words how appreciative I am of the wonderful service I received from the team at Flower Mound Endodontics. I was in horrible pain and was referred to Dr. Wang's office as the pain was coming from a prior tooth with a crown/root canal. She was able to fit me in that afternoon. The entire time she kept me informed of what she was doing and how things were progressing as the procedure took well over two hours. She was patient with me when I was having some trouble staying still as there was a lot of work to be done and my back and mouth got sore. They stayed past 5pm trying to get me fixed up, and then took the time afterwards to show me pictures and discuss success rates and ways to take care of it best going forward, instead of just rushing me out the door to go home. I experienced severe dental this past weekend, while I was out of town. My regular dentist knew I needed to be seen by Endodontist as soon as possible. My dentist suggest Dr. Wang and I could not be more pleased. I phoned her office on Monday morning and was asked to come in at 3:00 pm that day. I was able to fill out all my paperwork on the computer ahead of time and there was no waiting for my appointment once I arrived. The office is very professional, clean, modern and high tech. After x rays and an exam it was determined I did need 2 root canals. My insurance was verified and I was give an estimate and an explanation on what work was needed to be done. The amazing part is that they were able to start and finish the procedures right away. I was expecting to have to schedule and return on a later date. I could not be more please by their concern, care and service by both Dr. Wang and Morgan, her dental assistant. I was relaxed and comfortable the entire duration. I trusted her recommendations and never felt pressured. (enjoyed the soothing music too) As I am writing this review, 2.5 hours later Dr. Wang just called my cell phone checking on my level of pain and to thank for for being a patient. I would never "want" to have a root canal again, but if I do, I would not go anywhere but to Flower Mound Endodontics. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Wang and her practice at Flower Mound Endodontics. Below is a very detailed review of my experience with a molar (#15 tooth) root canal. If you are in pain or have been asked to find a specialist for endodontic work I highly recommend you give Dr. Wang a call. I have gone to a small home town dentist all my life. This small home town dentist was the only dentist I ever had complete procedures and cleanings on my teeth. After moving to the DFW area I grew lazy and missed several cleanings and, unfortunately, found out I had developed a cavity so bad it required a root canal. Because the tooth which required the work was my back molar I was recommended to go see Dr. Wang for the procedure. Dr. Wang and her RDA Morgan were great Pre Op, Scheduling my appointment quickly and spending long hours on the phone with my difficult insurance company to identify my expected costs associated with the procedure. The day of my procedure Dr. Wang was running about thirty minutes behind - I received a call from Morgan several hours before my appointment warning me so I could delay my arrival. When you walk into FM endodontics you will see that Dr. Wang invested in her practice. Dr. Wang not only has brand new top-of-the-line equipment in her office but the fixtures and finishing's are all also very high-end. The office is spotless and very comfortable. All of these put me, a very anxious person at the time, very much at ease prior to my root canal. Please do not interpret my "high end" comment to indicate high end pricing. After receiving several quotes Dr. Wang's pricing was very comparable to others in the area. As many surgeons do - Dr. Wang has a very unique playlist. While waiting and during my procedure, music stretching from Mozart, to Beethoven, to the Chicago musical, to the Lord of The Rings played throughout the office. If you have never had a root canal, you know it is a pretty lengthy process (depending on the tooth). Throughout the two hours of my procedure Dr. Wang and Morgan both were very patient with me. They allowed me to have regular breaks, and constantly checked in to make sure I was feeling okay (i.e. not feeling anything). Dr. Wang recognized I was nervous and wanted her to talk me through what she was doing. Excellent bedside manner and was very gentle every step of the way. Dr. Wang was extremely careful and meticulous when it came to the procedure and took many pictures and x-rays throughout the entire procedure. Dr. Wang must have taken classes in "dental linguistics" because several times I tried to talk with my mouth full of tools and she still, miraculously, understood me! After finishing up Dr. Wang will take you into a side room that is much like a board room with a large flat screen TV where she will show you step by step photos of the work she completed talking you through each step of the process. I am a bit of a "nerd" when it comes to medical procedures and I really appreciated the time Dr. Wang took her to talk me through everything. Lastly, the highlight of this experience for me came several hours after I left their office and well after the office had closed. At 8:00 PM I received a personal phone call from Dr. Wang just checking in to make sure everything was feeling okay. Rarely do I have a customer service experience so great I am compelled to write this type of lengthy review, however, this experience exceeded my expectations such that I want anyone who is unsure or questioning having dental work done with Dr. Wang to be completely confident she will provide you with the absolute best possible, world class, endodontic experience. My only regret out of this entire experience is that Dr. Wang does not also see patients for general dentistry! Great experience considering the procedure I had to undertake. Experienced horrible pain with a back molar. My dentist advised to see an endodontist as he suspected a crack. He also informed me that there was good chance for the need of extraction as the roots were extremely curved and would be very difficult to perform a root canal. Called Flower Mound Endodontics as it was the closest to my house and after reading the good reviews. Morgan and Dr. Wang were able to immediately see me. Dr Wang took the time to talk all my options out with my after the examination and didn't push one way or another. In the end we both decided that a root canal would be the best option. The procedure took 3 hours. Dr Wang stayed late to finish the procedure and did not push for a 2nd appointment. Wonderful bedside manner and patience. My dentist even commented on the beautiful work done by Dr. Wang. Also, it's important to note that I was informed b Morgan of my total charge before the procedure and what was covered by insurance.
