This time, I made the appointment months in advance, confirmed at three weeks in advance, and they had no record of the appointment when I arrived. In fact, they insisted that I had never been there, and that they had no record of me. When I gave them the specific day and date of my last appointment, they were able to figure out that they had my wife's name instead of mine. (hence why they billed her insurance instead of mine last time). In the end, I drove an hour for an appointment I had confirmed three weeks in advance, and was refused service. No medical care is worth this amount of headache and administrative ineptitude, when there are other very good dermatologists in the DMV.

The doctor seems knowledgeable and efficient. He's not very personable but he gets the job done. The technicians seemed friendly but not very well rehearsed with the laser machine. Maybe that's why the doctor did the treatment afterwards. The front desk staff is mixed. I've had them forget three times that they moved my appointment time (for different occasions). Or they told me one time, and wrote it in incorrectly. I found this out by calling to confirm, or calling them back after they confirmed with me the wrong time... again. I'd say the front desk needs improvement. They seem friendly enough in person. Some are nicer than others. Some don't know the area very well and couldn't give directions outside "It's next to Chicos" if their life depended on it. The waiting room is nice. The chairs are comfortable and they'll let you use their wifi. The wait time was never long. If I was closer to the area I'd probably consider having more visits. You can either metro down and walk there. Or take a chance and try to find a parallel parking 2 hour spot on a street nearby... but parking is scarce, unless you want to shell out the bucks for the garage. The office doesn't validate. I don't like to pay full price for laser, and it's a little bit of a haul for me to get here so I probably wouldn't be a repeat business customer. Overall, the experience was fine. I noticed results and I was in and out fast. I just think the front desk needs to work on competency. Also, I tend to like my doctors a little more personable, and feel more like a person than a short lived customer. So I pitched up for that overdue cleaning on Monday (today is Thursday). I am about to turn 63 years old and have seen many dentists in the intervening years, but not a single one to compare to Dr. Martin and the excellence of the care I received at his practice. He and his staff knocked my socks off in the best possible way. They were thorough and expert. The office even has an X-ray machine that produced a panoramic picture of my teeth. I stood side by side with the lady who cleaned my teeth and examined the image while she explained various details and answered all of my questions fully and patiently. When Dr. Martin came in to review the cleaning job that had been done, he did something no dentist before him had done for me: He performed a manual examination of my mouth and neck, probing with his fingers for lumps or any signs of any mass that might indicate something needing further attention.
