My husband and I had been regulars here for medical massages every two weeks since last year. We originally chose this practice because they provide superbills that we can submit to insurance. The massage therapists we've worked with (Alejandra, Maddy, Giovanna) have all been skilled. Alicia (their former admin) has also always been very responsive and is the only one who knows about superbills. This month, as usual, I requested superbills for our appointments and, after following up multiple times, received incorrect paperwork. When I called to ask about it, I was informed that their admin was moving out and that there also appeared to be a duplicate account issue. Which was why I didn't receive any notifs for upcoming appointments either. That was the concern I raised professionally via email. Shortly afterward, I received an email stating that the practice had determined they were "not the best fit" for my needs and would no longer provide services. to us. It was unfortunate because the massage therapists were actually skilled. But future clients who rely on superbills and insurance docs may want to confirm how those requests are handled now that their former admin has left.

One of the staff said she had been working there for 14 years. That tells me that they have a pleasant working environment and pays to retain the best employees. I look at that as a good sign. I have always had lower back pain, and during the pandemic I started developing episodic neck pain. It was so bad that I knew I needed to get it checked out. I made an appointment with this facility because they accept my insurance and it's walking distance from my house. That's the extent of my vetting process. The first thing they did was a comprehensive evaluation. They interviewed me asking why I was there, what symptoms I had and what I wanted to get out of treatment. Then the doctor performed a physical examination feeling the neck and spine, and then they took multiple x-rays. Then they sent me home. They reviewed the results of the examination and met with me again a few days later. They showed the x-rays. They let me know my situation and what could be done to correct it. At that point the doctor proposed a three month series of treatments with three visits per week and evaluations after each month. I appreciated that I was totally informed and knew what to expect. I have an anxiety disorder so the thought of someone manipulating my spine generating a cracking sound terrified me. The doctor graduated from medical school and has 20 years experience. But there's always a first time someone dies from a chiropractic adjustment. I dreaded the first two weeks. A couple times I took prescription medicine to help me relax. But after about a month I started enjoying it. I haven't had back pain since I started. My mobility is improved. I can't wait to get the next treatment knowing that I'm getting better with every visit. The treatment also involves physical therapy. They used ultrasound treatment and electrical muscle stimulation. They did that for a month and then gave me exercises to strengthen the muscles in the neck and back. I also have exercises to do every day at home. For people on the Spectrum like me (I know; I'm a mess), I'd be lying if I told you it's not stressful. But the people are very kind and very understanding and tolerant of people with ASD. They are friendly but don't overwhelm. The doctor is a great guy, very folksy. He has a rhythm and is friendly and talkative to the patients to get them to relax. That won't work for us so be prepared, but it's worth it. So after three months I have made tremendous progress. I haven't had back pain since I started. My neck has much better mobility. I only have to go twice a month now. I'll miss seeing the doc. He's a cool guy.
