To say these services helped save my life would be an understatement. Having been diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2015, my massage therapy journey began with pre-surgical massages, then post chemo, radiation and post surgery massages and continues 8 years later with myofascial and lymph drainage massages. I have had minimal complications in all the treatments and surgeries and I contribute this to the holistic approach of massage therapy. Extremely disappointed and my trust was betrayed. Upon further investigation I discovered that…read moreActive Family Wellness was not in fact Active Care which was also in Fairfax. I provided my attorney information to the office and was under the impression that they were already in contact but the later find there was no affiliation. My trust was completely lost. I've been going to the correct practice which has a similar name and I've felt 1000% better with only 4 visits after being in terrible pain and trouble walking. last visit to Active Family Wellness I expressed that I was in pain and I mentioned to the office manager that I was in too much pain and I wanted to skip the tense pressure before the adjustment and I was told "You have to do it". which was so painful it brought me to tears and I didn't feel any better. Additional I was made to sign paperwork agreeing to pay a detailed breakdown of the when I have health insurance which I was completely caught of guard by. How can I know what the projected cost be for medical treatment? What ICD coding would be used for long term treatment? I don't appreciate being sold this "fallacy" of care knowing that I wasn't the first patient this happened to. Disappointed.

Spoiler Alert: Dr. Argen has retired There have been many…read morechanges here since I started treatment. First of all, all doctors are called "Dr. K" (now retired) or "Dr. Ben" - i felt like I was in Kindergarten. I do appreciate that the office uses cold laser which I have found to be amazing at healing soft tissue and post surgery. Also love the high-tech check-in and billing was very smooth. Dr. Ben Glasman is enthusiastic, energetic and great at marketing. Found him at a festival. I find his energy to be counter-conducive to relaxing, and his adjustment style is abrupt and jarring. Plus, though I've gone to chiropractors for over 40 years, he treated me like he had to educate me on everything. Rule #1: Know your audience. I found one doctor, Dr. "A" (Please! his name is Dr. Argen) who exceeded my expectations, and now he has retired. Dr. Argen was brilliant at soft tissue work combined with adjustment. He was the first chiropractor I ever went to where I could totally relax and trust his method when he adjusted my neck. He also had a great sense of humor. I wish you well, Dr. Argen, AND I'm back to shopping for a chiropractor.

It was discovered and communicated to me at my second visit that my insurance only covers the Physical Therapy portion and not the Chiropractic portion of the work. They wanted to offer me to write up my sessions as 'Physical Therapy' on my insurance and provide me free Chiropractic adjustments as a bonus. I wasn't comfortable signing up for something that I didn't feel was accurate. I asked for an alternative solution which led to us negotiating and agreeing on a cash payment of $40 per treatment. After paying $80 out of pocket for my first two visits, I thought about it some more and it didn't make sense for me to continue seeing them at $40 per visit versus seeing an In-Network chiropractor with an out of pocket cost of $15 co-pay. After I communicated this and decided on seeing an In-Network chiropractor, we agreed to part ways and I thanked them for the service they provided me. To my surprise, they responded unprofessionally with a comment of: "You should get better insurance." I didnt reply and just let it go. Several months later, I received a bigger surprise; a bill for $70 for payments owed on services previously rendered. I typically enjoy supporting the local establishments and don't usually write bad reviews, however felt the need report my experience with Dr. Glassman and his office administrators. I actually paid the $70 not wanting them to put any liens on me and felt it was just not worth hurting my credit. I guess the agreement we originally made didn't matter once I decided to go with a different provider. Unprofessional and disappointing to say the least. Be careful when dealing with these guys as they are unethical with their method of reporting and billing practices.

He has helped me a lot as I have had issues w back and neck pain. He also does neuro rehabilitation, which helped a lot as I had a TBI. I just had a concussion about a month ago, and Dr. Ryan was treating me for it, as I had to report it to my jobs and get on short term disability, I needed forms filled out from the doctor to send back to HR. Dr. Ryan made multiple mistakes and did not complete the forms. As HR did not accept them, the doctor gave me an incredibly hard time as he did not want to be bothered by the forms. He gave me attitude, was not cooperative in the least, and acted like it was the biggest deal in the world to go and fill out paperwork. Man child. Very disappointing and frustrating, left a bad taste in my mouth. Would not recommend

If this technique could be used for every child suffering with anxiety and ADHD I can only imagine…read morehow much easier their lives would be. For the past 6 years I have been on wait lists for therapy, counseling, evaluations, etc. I spent thousands on private tutoring, several thousand on counseling sessions, multiple co-payments on evaluations for occupational therapy. After finally getting a neuropsych evaluation and an assessment at schools - was able to get a 'diagnosis' of ADHD, anxiety, short term memory deficiency and extremely low recall speed. From there I discussed it with someone that had used Dr. Carlton who was very happy and so I immediately signed up for a free evaluation. His brain mapping was able to come up with a treatment plan which he said would take several sessions to notice a difference. My child and I both signed up to do sessions. After a few sessions I definitely noticed I was *way* calmer in my "moments of frustration", things that bothered me before didn't seem to be such a big deal anymore. I also was sleeping better! But let me talk about my child. Within maybe 4 sessions (at most) - out of nowhere, suddenly the executive functioning struggles and anxiety were WAY less. Doing homework on their own, remembering assignments, packing lunch the night before, "planning" the mornings out before school, not being in a panic rush about everything. Within the same week homework assignment grades start coming back. An "A" - Have never seen one of those! Another "A" - Wow! Some B's where "Fs" were last month. What has happened! Remarks from teacher that they are noticing something is different! This is amazing! I knew it had to be this because not a single other thing had changed. There was a time (almost 2 weeks) of flu illness where no sessions were done (about half way through the series of the first 20) and about that time the anxiety crept back in, yelling/being upset about little things - but as soon as we were able to get back on track, that went away. We did sessions at home, which is a little easier (for scheduling) but harder (because life gets in the way, so we were not as diligent as we should have been and would have had even more astonishing results if stayed on track). We are not done yet (will be doing another round of 10 after a new brain mapping) but I wanted to share the absolute amazing success we've had - what a difference it's made in our family dynamics, a more peaceful environment and more joy because the 'fog' has gone away and we can be more present in the moment. I can't say enough great things, I would highly recommend every single person that even thinks "maybe" this could help them to give it a try. I love that he really just wants to help people and offered us the 0% financing in-house making it affordable (cost is actually les than I expected). We did buy a cheap (used) laptop (for $50 on marketplace) to use for the at-home to have just a dedicated device since my Mac wasn't compatible with the program, but the equipment is otherwise on loan (I paid a deposit). I only wish we had found this sooner but am super grateful that I did find it though I feel bad when I see others suffering from similar and think "if they'd just go give this a try!!!" - so hopefully this review helps anyone that may be on the fence about it.

The staff only made it worse--cold, dismissive, and dripping with attitude, like I was a burden just for showing up, with absolutely no warmth, empathy, or professionalism. For a place that's supposed to help people, the lack of care is shocking; the whole experience felt disorganized, disrespectful, and honestly embarrassing for a "health" center.
