We were referred this place by a friend of mine who came in and saw samples of Home Depot backsplash laid against my wall. She commented how cheap the tile looked and recommended that I go to Emser! I had no idea this place was so close to home, so affordable, and with so many options outside of your big box, Home Depot and Lowe's stores. I knew I wanted a subway tile , overly sized and with dimension. Ryan was so helpful.. let me take home a few different samples and polished and mat dimension and dimension and multiple sizes. They gave me grout samples to take home to match to my cabinets and my countertops. They gave me a recommendation of three separate tile installers. I was able to get quotes from all of them ended up going with a tile company. That did an amazing job on the backsplash. I have continued to use them now since and when I do my bathroom remodel.! read more

The store is nice upon entering. I was recommended by a lady that I met at Home Depot so I decided to come on in and see what kind of tiles they had when I walked in. I didn't hear them acknowledge me so I said hello and then they said hello the music was playing sort of loud and I'm a little bit hard to hear so wasn't able to hear I walked around. Nobody came and greeted me or said do we need any help or assistance or anything so I left out I didn't have the same pleasant experience as the other people here on yelp Nor, the lady who referred me from Home Depot, so I sadly turned around and will be taking my business elsewhere read more

I used to be a regular at Emser. I was there when they opened in the mornings and or evenings to pick up my orders I called in or just stopped in to order for an upcoming job. I was always treated with respect and professionalism by the staff every time. I had to retire early due to a life threatening illness almost 13 years ago but still shopped at Emser from time to time. We happened to go to Emser tile last week and Ryan was our sales professional. Ryan helped my wife and I as if we were extremely important clients. What a great feeling to still feel important when shopping at Emser. When Ryan got our bill together it was a bit cheaper than we were expecting. Great selection, great people and overall a great experience. I absolutely love my new kitchen floor. I was struggling, wanting to mimic a marble white/grey checkerboard, not finding anything that would work. I was close to going with a black hex, until I discovered Emser. Lania was so patient, kind and helpful. The answer was the Reserva tiles in Alto and Pampa. The floor tiles are solid, love the matte look and has a nice grip under our feet. It masks the pup paw prints perfectly! My first experience with Emser Tile was a 5/5; Tracy knew the product, she was easy to speak to, she was clear, informative, and very helpful in helping me coordinate the tiles chosen for my master bathroom renovation a few years ago. However, more recently, my second experience with Emser Tile I would rate a 1/5; This experience has left a long-lasting negative impression and hence, I will NOT be using Emser Tile for my second bathroom renovation. So, unfortunate that Tracy is no longer a welcoming face or knowledgeable presence at Emser. This second experience was with Kelley. I returned an unopened/unused product that I had just purchased, and after returning it/leaving the store I noted I was only partially refunded. I called and spoke to Kelley again... who then stated "Oh, I should have told you there's a 25% restocking fee" and that's why the partial refund. A restocking fee for a 1 quart product that was picked off your shelf 10' from the counter??? WOW! I wasted time that i'll never get back dealing with incompetent employees who do not know how to communicate thoroughly and clearly. read more

Make sure you have an appointment if you want to visit their showroom. One employee present said "Hi." after we entered. We visited on a Thursday afternoon and no customers were present. After about 15 minutes another couple walked in and also looked around. After about five more minutes another couple arrived, making a total of six customers and one employee behind the counter. Another employee walked up to us and asked if we had an appointment. We said we did not. The employee told us she was going to ask us to leave because we did not have an appointment. I told the employee I didn't know we had to have an appointment. She responded, in kind of a snotty way, "It's posted on the door!" Sorry I didn't read the fine print on your door before entering. There's nothing on your website about appointments only. Maybe being greeted and asked if w e had an appointment, and even offering to schedule an appointment when you found out we didn't, would be a better approach. They have a large showroom and it appeared from our short (uninvited) visit they had nice products. Don't know if I'll return with an appointment due to the way we were treated. read more

I was running out of options for where to find affordable tile for my master bathroom renovation. I came across Emser's web site and gave them a call. I told them what I was looking for and they said they could help me. I asked their price on the products we'd discussed and I was given an amount. Then James asked me if I was working with a contractor. I told him yes and he gave me their contractor price. Nice! (The comment about them not working with the general public is inaccurate, IME.) Their warehouse is in So. CA, so it takes just 2 quick days for product to arrive. I'd give them 5 stars, but my shipment was due in yesterday early afternoon. I'd called to discuss something else and confirm that it would be there. I was told all their shipments arrive daily between 12-1, so I sent my contractor over. When he arrived, it wasn't there. He had another job in that area, so he went back a couple of times to check and still no shipment. He left his phone # with them to call when it arrived and they never called him. I called first thing this morning to see what the situation was and was told that all their shipments were delayed because of the holiday weekend traffic. He did confirm that my order had arrived and was ready for pick-up today. They really should have let my contractor know what was going on, though, but otherwise I'm very pleased with the customer service I received at Emser Tile in Fairfield. read more

Very disappointed! I was in last week to buy tile. Not only did the gentleman leave our conversation to help the woman that came in AFTER me (saying he would be back in 3 minutes, he said he was afraid she would get upset if he didn't) but then never returned. After waiting several minutes, I left my phone number with the other gentleman asking him to please call, so I could get the product samples I was originally requesting. Its hard to believe I'm giving 5 stars for a project gone wrong, but I am! I purchased tile for my bathroom with Tracy at Emser. My handyman picked it up for me and due to some delays on our end, the boxes sat on my patio for a few weeks before we installed it. You can imagine my horror when I came home and my guy was installing THE WRONG TILE! I immediately checked my receipt and realized that I had signed for the wrong tile and would probably be held responsible for it. I called Tracy in a panic and she remembered who I was, what tile I had intended to order, and immediately apologized, accepting responsibility for the error. Who does that? A person who know how to treat a customer, that's for sure. I was ready for a fight, and instead was immediately diffused. And grateful. Sadly, the tile I had wanted was backordered for several months which again could have been a very upsetting situation. But Tracy came up with some alternative options, shipped them to me, and did not charge me extra even though the new tile was better quality and much more expensive. My bathroom is now beautiful, and I can't say enough good words about Tracy at Emser. Thank you Tracy! read more
