Let me start by saying if you are coming to Rome for a few days and wanted to be right in the middle of the tourist scene, this hotel is not for you. But if you are coming to Rome and want a hotel in a peaceful, quote part of town that is convenient to many attractions without being surrounded by tourist I highly recommend you consider the Empire. Breakfast was incredible compared to any other European hotel I have stayed at. Room was a decent size but the bathroom was 2 times the size as I was expecting. Housekeeping came every day. AC was cold and the window opened if you prefer. 2 elevators and we hardly ever had to wait. Beautiful courtyard to have a drink or enjoy your gelato from down the street. We were able to walk to the subway, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Termini and more in 15 minutes or less. And the amount of restaurants within a 5 minute walk with blow your mind. Not to mention the best Gelato in Rome is right around the corner. Will stay here again next time I'm in Rome.

Great clean place with the best breakfast I've ever eaten. The rooms are small but well kept and clean. Walking distance to anything. Rome is not a huge city and you can truly walk to all the main attractions of you don't mind walking. Make sure to wear comfortable walking/running shoes. You'll be hurting if you have shoes with not support. This hotel is located in a great place in Rome. Safe location but don't ever put your guard down. Overall great experience. The only complaint I have is the turn down service they provide. I hated being interrupted. We were usually knocked out when they came to do it and would get woken up every time. That's my fault for not asking if they had that service and for not telling them to stop giving us turn down service.

This has been my preferred hotel in Rome lately - have stayed here 4 times in the last 5 months…read more It's clean, modern and the location is good, with close proximity to all of the sights in the city, as well as the main train station (Roma Termini). Breakfast is included if you're a Hilton gold member or higher, and has a great selection of items. Some of the rooms include a terrace, which is a great feature when the weather is nice.

That made the location extremely convenient. The hotel sits a short walk from Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, where Pope Francis is buried. Some areas near the main train station are often described as unsafe by Italian standards. We did not experience that near the hotel. Tourists and locals were out late, and the neighborhood stayed active into the evening. Rome is compact and easy to navigate. Most major attractions felt reachable within about 20 minutes by taxi, bus, or rail. We tried to visit the Trevi Fountain at 10:00 pm to avoid crowds. That plan failed completely(see pic). It was packed. Locals eat later than in the U.S., and many parts of the city stay busy well into the night. Restaurants remain open late. A note for U.S. travelers. European hotel rooms run smaller for the price. Even using Hilton points, our room would have cost close to $700 per night USD and felt small. The hotel offers a pleasant rooftop bar and a spacious lobby with multiple seating areas. The buffet breakfast was a solid, comfortable way to start the day. It was included for us as Hilton Diamond members. I am unsure of the cash price. Overall, the location and amenities make this a smart pre-cruise choice, especially for travelers relying on rail connections.

We had a fantastic stay here. The hotel is very unique and the history is truly eternal!…read more The hotel sits just minutes walk from the Roman Forum, Colosseum, and Cerchi Park. However, it is quietly nestled in a beautiful little neighborhood. It is very quiet and quaint. Upon arrival we were greeted with the welcoming staff and escorted into the ruins beyond the lobby where we were brought a lovely tiramisu welcome treat to enjoy while taking in the ruins. The room is impressively large with a huge bathroom. We had a plush king sized bed with cozy down bedding. The thick beautiful curtains ensured that the room was perfectly dark for great sleep even if we wanted a mid day nap. There was a lovely little balcony with a view of the courtyard. With the curtains open the natural light is perfect. The bed was comfortable and we Sisto very nicely here. The bathroom is very big with a walk in shower and bidet with all toiletries needed to have a comfortable stay. I will say I was a bit bummed that the tile warmer was not functional but the hotel was very kind offering anything to make sure that we were happy. This was not a problem and we stayed in this room as warming towels us a perk but not a requirement. I would also note that the building is quite old and the bathroom had a metallic smell perhaps from the pipes of older plumbing but it was fine as long as we kept the bathroom door closed. I think the hotel was really concerned that we were upset but we absolutely were not just keep in mind this building is antique and if you are coming from the US where everything is new and not used to a potential aroma of antiquity be prepared to experience a true European city and do not complain. All details are thought of here including mini bar, clothes steamer, hair dryer, toiletries and a welcome gift. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. They are always ensuring that we were comfortable and happy. We absolutely loved our stay here. The hotel is a special place and experience. The nostalgia of standing and staying where the Romans once stood 2000 years ago was definitely a treat! The hotel has a rooftop terrace where we enjoyed breakfast in the mornings and wine in the evening. The lounge just inside of the terrace is cozy and comfortable to enjoy a glass of wine or cocktail in the evening and there's a cozy fireplace to warm up, which we took full advantage of after a long wet rainy day in the colosseum and Roman forum. We had a great stay here and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special Roman experience. We will definitely be back!

The hotel called an ambulance which took me to the closest hospital and Armando from the staff walked to the hospital with my wife and daughter and accompanied them for over an hour helping to communicate with hospital personnel and didn't leave until he knew I was being cared for. After my hospital visit was over and we went back to the hotel the staff helped translate my order and prescriptions. They were so helpful with everything else. They gave us a very good walking map of Rome with highlighted routes, a list of restaurants that they recommended and we were not disappointed in any that we went to, they scheduled taxi pickups, had umbrellas for the rain a great breakfast with awesome cappuccino and lattes and a happy hour. The rooms are comfy and very clean, the shower water flow is unreal ( felt like I was standing under a water fall). The staff at this place and I mean every one of them made me feel so welcomed and went above and beyond to help us with our needs. If I ever make it back Rome this is the only place I want to stay!
