Cosmopolita Hotel (tapestry collection by Hilton)
Rick M.

I've just arrived at COSMOPOLITA HOTEL ROME, TAPESTRY COLLECTION BY HILTON, centrally located at Via Di Santa Eufemia 5, 00187 Rome, Italy and I couldn't be more thrilled to spend my last few days of this incredible European trip in Rome! The Monti neighborhood, where the hotel is located, is perfect for soaking in the true essence of Rome--so many iconic sites are just a short walk away, and there's no shortage of fantastic restaurants right around the corner. It's an ideal spot to end my adventure before heading off to Madrid. The moment we stepped into the hotel, we were welcomed with warm smiles from both front desk clerks, instantly making us feel at home. Kimberly took excellent care of us. Even though we arrived early, she stored our luggage and directed us to a lovely local restaurant for a classic Roman meal while they got our room ready. When we returned a couple of hours later, our room was all set, and we were ready to dive into exploring the city! Kimberly went above and beyond, offering us maps, directions, and helpful advice on tours, which really set the tone for an amazing stay. Our room includes breakfast, and while it's small (as is common in Rome), it's beautifully decorated, spotless, and has everything we need. The only issue is the lack of drawers, so I've had to live out of my suitcase a bit more than I'd like. The room is on the pricier side, but I guess that's to be expected for such a central location. The one thing that held me back from giving 5 stars is that I could overhear conversations from the neighboring room while in the bathroom, and the finish on the bathroom walls seemed a little rushed. That said, I'm still very happy with my choice. This hotel's charm, location, and the genuine hospitality from Kimberly and the team have made it a great start to my Roman adventure. If you're planning a trip to Rome, I'd recommend booking directly through Hilton's site for the best rates and to earn Hilton Honors points.

Bed takes up most of the room haha

This hotel was reasonable walking distance to most of the tourist attractions in Rome. Anything further, you can easily get a lime bike, scooter, or an Uber. We walked to The Colluseum, Trevi fountain, and Pantheon without trouble. The hotel was helpful in setting up dinner reservations for us at the nearby restaurants, and everyone we interacted with at check-in and check out were very hospitable.  Breakfast was adequate, and I used the gym a couple of times, which was clean and with working equipment. The room was a standard European size with clean linens and a tiny bathroom. The hotel itself is obviously older and a bit dated, but overall, it was a nice affordable stay.

Three nights here in January 2023 and you absolutely can not beat this hotel for the location. It is two blocks from the Trajan Column and the Victor Emmanuel II National Monument. A short walk to the Colosseum and Palatine and all the ancient Rome you can stand. As a top tier in the Hilton Honors program, I was upgraded to room with view. I had a city view and while I could hear the occasional ambulance, it was great to look out at something other than a courtyard. The room was quite nice, but I experienced a few problems during my stay. I would probably choose another hotel next time. There is a hot water kettle and some packets of instant coffee but no coffee cups. Who pours boiling hot water into a short glass? At 5:00 am of my last morning in the hotel, I was awoken by a banging sound and something that could have been furniture moving. I doubt it was the hotel and may have been the neighboring building. At 6:00, there were a couple doors slamming. I did not get back to sleep. The bed was comfortable and certainly had plenty of pillows. In January, I would have liked some heat. I cranked the thermostat up and set the fan to maximum but there was no change. I checked the fuses and they were fine. I just tolerated it. The first night, I had the "do not disturb" on the door and yet the housekeeping staff still knocked on the door. They returned later and reset the room well but I did not like that my stuff was moved around. I usually put my things away if I'm going to have housekeeping. The second and third nights, they did not disturb the room. Comfortable shower with plenty of hot water but no shelf or other area to set my razor and such. I'm not sure why they don't have anything like that. I like that it's a "full" shower, not the usual "half door" that I usually see in Europe. Breakfast was included in my room rate. It's a nice set up on the top floor that requires climbing a flight of stairs. Eggs, sausages, bacon, beans, lots of pastries, bread and a toaster, coffee machine, fresh orange juice, cereal and more. The attendant was quite pleasant and it was very nice. I don't know how much breakfast costs when it's not included. [Review 19104 overall - 279 in Italy - 74 of 2023.]

Rug in the room - could be improved

We were on the second floor and the room's layout was not functional at all. There's a scent in the room that we couldn't figure out what it smelled like or where it was coming from. It was not pleasant. There was not a single decor/picture in the room or bathroom. The window was small so it felt very sterile. No real closet just an open storage on the wall. The room was dusty. The only thing we liked was the location which was 5-7 minutes walk to the Trevi fountain and 15-20 minutes to the Colosseum. Staff were friendly too. Prepare to wait for your room to be ready and in a very small lobby.

Amazing location if you dont want to use taxis! This is walkable and has such great views. The staff was so friendly. The room was on the small side but very modern and very clean. Loved it. Breakfast has amazing coffee but not the greatest food. Food was mid

Hotel Cosmopolita is a newly Hilton acquired and currently still being renovated Tapestry collection hotel. Originally my traveling friends wanted to pick a Garden Inn that was much cheaper but about 30 minutes transit north from this location. We opted to stay here instead for the convenience of WALKING to everything Trevi Fountains (7 minutes) Pantheon (10 minutes) Colosseum (13 minutes) Spanish Steps (15 minutes) Vatican City (37 minutes) this didn't feel that long. Lots to see along the way We had arrived around 0300 in the afternoon on a Tuesday, mid 11/2022. The hotel entrance is kind of "tucked" away in a smaller street/alley off from the main street. There are 1-2 receptionists there at almost all times ready to help you with SMILING faces Check in process was simple overall, with some hiccups. Originally, had booked a queen bed room and a double twin bed room. Per some other reviews here or maybe TripAdvisor, it had said rooms on 3rd and 5th floor were all renovated so we opted to change our room to the 3rd floor with a queen bed for a newer room. The room was nice and renovated but a bit small. Downside about renovated old hotels is room's VARY in size. Our two queen bed rooms were on the same floor but one was much larger than the other, so we opted to change back to the twin bed room which was on the 1st floor but was MUCH larger (both in room and bathroom size, even had like a "mudroom'') The queen bed room was nicer IMO, room and bathroom (with rain type shower head and sliding door). The twin bed room was indeed MUCH larger but the bathroom was weirdly designed causing a very small walk in shower with NO place to put anything. So i guess its a toss in what you want more. The hotel is located next to a main road, so no matter which side of the hotel you're on, you'll hear traffic noise, and if you are lower (like on the 1st floor), you'll hear all the talking from people passing by when the windows are open (more on this below) Like I had said earlier, I had came mid Nov 2022. It being an older but newly renovated hotel, means some things were still old, like their HVAC system. There is no way to turn on the system for AIR only or AC. Receptionist said it was a central system and is currently on HEAT, so had to bear with opening the windows as much as we can. It was unbearable hot with just a crack open on the windows so... yeah Overall, stay was decent. VERY convenient location. Literally walked to almost everything except the Roma termini (walkable but was early/late) and a dinner reservation that was quite far away.

The staff was so friendly and helpful, they greeted us warmly whenever we came through the lobby and gave us great advice. We had to leave for the airport at 3:15 am and the night desk guy arranged a cab for us which was a big relief because getting an Uber or cab during the day had proven difficult. When we first arrived I didn't know how to turn on the shower and they sent someone right up to show me. The bed was very comfortable. The room was small but served our needs and the best thing about the hotel is the location, it's walkable to almost all attractions. The view from the breakfast area is magnificent and the breakfast is nice.

bit on the small side

This is a 5 star review for a 4 star hotel. This hotel's location was what persuaded us to book, and it turned out to be very convenient. There is a nice bakery right downstairs, and it is 2 minutes from a taxi stand. The front desk staff was so friendly and nice! Thank you hilton. Lastly, the breakfast pastry was really good, as was the fresh juice, and the great dining area. Watch out for the loose tiles on the floor, they should fix that! I nearly tripped.

When I come back to Rome, there is only one hotel I would consider booking and that is, hands down, Hotel Cosmopolita. First of all, the hotel is located in almost the exact city center. This is obviously fantastic because you never have to walk far to get to any of the famous sights. During our two week stay we never once needed to use the metro because everything was in walking distance to our hotel. Then there is the wonderful rooftop terrace breakfast. Oh my gosh what a view!! The breakfast selection is really nice too. They offer a spread of pastries, fruit, yogurt, scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, toast, ect. Plus orange juice, pineapple juice and they have a coffee machine that allows you to make several types of hot drinks like cappuccinos, tea, ect. All this for €7 per person. We ate here almost everyday. With that view, that selection and at that price, why eat anywhere else? The room itself was great. It was clean, a decent size and most importantly, the AC was awesome. I love to sleep in an ice cold room at night and this room got freezing cold! I would shiver in there, it was awesome!! (I turned down the AC all the way, you can turn the air up if you want) Last but not least, the staff was absolutely wonderful!! Especially Kimberly at the front desk. She was sooooo sweet and so helpful! I can't rave enough about this hotel. I loved it. It was exactly what we where hoping for and better than expected! Perfect price, perfect location, all around five stars!!

That made the location extremely convenient. The hotel sits a short walk from Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, where Pope Francis is buried. Some areas near the main train station are often described as unsafe by Italian standards. We did not experience that near the hotel. Tourists and locals were out late, and the neighborhood stayed active into the evening. Rome is compact and easy to navigate. Most major attractions felt reachable within about 20 minutes by taxi, bus, or rail. We tried to visit the Trevi Fountain at 10:00 pm to avoid crowds. That plan failed completely(see pic). It was packed. Locals eat later than in the U.S., and many parts of the city stay busy well into the night. Restaurants remain open late. A note for U.S. travelers. European hotel rooms run smaller for the price. Even using Hilton points, our room would have cost close to $700 per night USD and felt small. The hotel offers a pleasant rooftop bar and a spacious lobby with multiple seating areas. The buffet breakfast was a solid, comfortable way to start the day. It was included for us as Hilton Diamond members. I am unsure of the cash price. Overall, the location and amenities make this a smart pre-cruise choice, especially for travelers relying on rail connections.

However, it is quietly nestled in a beautiful little neighborhood. It is very quiet and quaint. Upon arrival we were greeted with the welcoming staff and escorted into the ruins beyond the lobby where we were brought a lovely tiramisu welcome treat to enjoy while taking in the ruins. The room is impressively large with a huge bathroom. We had a plush king sized bed with cozy down bedding. The thick beautiful curtains ensured that the room was perfectly dark for great sleep even if we wanted a mid day nap. There was a lovely little balcony with a view of the courtyard. With the curtains open the natural light is perfect. The bed was comfortable and we Sisto very nicely here. The bathroom is very big with a walk in shower and bidet with all toiletries needed to have a comfortable stay. I will say I was a bit bummed that the tile warmer was not functional but the hotel was very kind offering anything to make sure that we were happy. This was not a problem and we stayed in this room as warming towels us a perk but not a requirement. I would also note that the building is quite old and the bathroom had a metallic smell perhaps from the pipes of older plumbing but it was fine as long as we kept the bathroom door closed. I think the hotel was really concerned that we were upset but we absolutely were not just keep in mind this building is antique and if you are coming from the US where everything is new and not used to a potential aroma of antiquity be prepared to experience a true European city and do not complain. All details are thought of here including mini bar, clothes steamer, hair dryer, toiletries and a welcome gift. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. They are always ensuring that we were comfortable and happy. We absolutely loved our stay here. The hotel is a special place and experience. The nostalgia of standing and staying where the Romans once stood 2000 years ago was definitely a treat! The hotel has a rooftop terrace where we enjoyed breakfast in the mornings and wine in the evening. The lounge just inside of the terrace is cozy and comfortable to enjoy a glass of wine or cocktail in the evening and there's a cozy fireplace to warm up, which we took full advantage of after a long wet rainy day in the colosseum and Roman forum. We had a great stay here and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special Roman experience. We will definitely be back!
