Found this cookie place on Yelp and had to give it a try. They even had empanadas and ginormous cinnamon rolls on the weekend only we were told. The flan looked too delicious not to try although initially was hoping to buy some to bring home. Nice ambiance inside with their live plant wall and service could not have been better. Met the owner who invited us back for their grand opening soon. Look forward to more visits soon.

Finally, Empire Cookies has a brick and mortar after blessing Houston events with pop ups across the city. Having this delicious cookie bakery next to my favorite cafe (Pistachio's) is really dangerous for me. With the physical location, they have more freedom to offer a wider menu. In addition to the cookies, they have crookies (cookie croissants), savory baked goods, and other tempting things. I tried their pistachio crookie and it is genuinely one of the best and most indulgent sweets I have ever had. I'm still thinking about it weeks later. There's also a good amount of seating, so I'll definitely stay awhile to journal and have another treat. I did have a chance to meet the owner, and he and his employee were thorough and kind. My sweet tooth is well taken care of here. Can't wait for my next visit! - Ambiance: 5/5 - Food: 5++/5 - Service: 5/5

First tried Empire Cookies at a pop-up in front of HMNS. Happy they have a brick & mortar store! Love the interior and was obsessed with the wall of plants. Prompt & friendly service. Pretty much love almost all the desserts here. - pistachio crookie stood out the most (cookie & croissant were crispy, enjoyed the pistachio spread as well) - fave cookies: biscoff, cookies & cream, smores - brookie was ok (more on the chocolate side since flavor of the week included Ferrero Rocher) - don't care too much for funfetti cookie Can't wait to come back for their desserts again!

Friends and I were looking for a nearby place to have coffee. There were a few options at Gaylord. We went inside Empire. The baked goods looked beautiful and delicious. We stayed and ordered empanadas. They're a bit pricey. You have to get three for $16. Ouch! We ordered two with provolone cheese and one with beef. I don't eat beef. But the provolone one was good. The bathroom was clean and sleek. If you dare to press the button in the bathroom, music from the Bee Gees plays. We went the next day where I celebrated my birthday. One of my friends shared the Basque cheesecake with blueberries. It's to die for. I took a key lime pie slice to go. It's rich. I'm slowly working through it. Two bites were enough. I haven't tried the coffee. They have merchandise as T-shirts and mugs. The place is not inexpensive. But a treat once in a while is worth it.

Congrats to Empire Cookies on their brick and mortar opening! From pop-ups to farmers market and now and official home in the memorial area. Staff was friendly and made great recommendations. Got the - 1 Red Velvet cookie 2 Walnut Chocolate Chip *** (MUST GET)*** (I loved the thickness and chewiness in the center, would recommend microwaving or heating it up for 10 seconds) 1 Chocolate Nutella cookie 1 Pistachio Crookie (this was a really unique take on a croissant cookie + extra texture from the pistachios and filled with white chocolate macadamia nut and pistachio filling). 1 Brookie (chocolate chip/Brownie) - (a bit too cakey for my preference, as I like more fudgy brownies) 1 Biscoff Cheesecake cookie About $6/cookie. They also have savory items like empanadas and focaccia breads. Hope to try that next time! In addition, they also serve coffee and teas. The indoor decor had plants everywhere and just really liked the vibe. Good amount of seating as well. Parking - within the plaza of chipotle

This place was so good. Very helpful and sweet! The cookies are HUGE and a great price. Best cookie I've had in Houston.

Customer service was top tier. Cookies were top tier. Ambiance was top tier. Will definitely be coming back soon

The Harlem -- super version of cookies and cream! Loved this one, even tasty for non-chocolate lovers :)

4.5 stars for me! Their mountainous cookies are giant, hefty, and thick with a bit of a chew and a soft almost gooey interior even at room temperature. The original flavor names are all cheekily related to NYC, and they are stuffed with lots of goodies and tons of flavor. I prefer my cookies slightly harder in the middle so I just pop them in the fridge for a little. Tried 2 flavors so far: -- the Harlem (cookies and cream): if you like white chocolate, this one is studded with melty pockets of Hersheys cookies and creams bar pieces-- super creamy! The Oreo pieces make it super fun too. Overall, it's a veryyyy sweet cookie (even for me!). -- the Brooklyn (Reese's peanut butter): for those peanut butter fans out there! Full mini sized Reese's cups hiding amidst peanut butter and chocolate chips. This one was nicely balanced with a bit of saltiness from the PB side (but not too much!). I discovered Empire Cookies at the recent Foodieland event (the service was very nice!) and happily learned that their HQ is in Houston's inner loop :D They are a little pricey at $6 per cookie and also chunky calorie bombs, but it's easy to justify the occasional splurge to treat myself. Their gorilla mascot and packaging is very cute as well ^_^. If you love extra sweet, huge cookies, check them out (available via GrubHub and UberEats too!). I'll definitely be visiting in person soon!

French style baguettes are perfect. The only problem is the pastries suffer from humidity of Houston and if not eaten fresh they can get soggy and lose their texture. I am referring to the mille fuille. The chocolate cake was really good and held up for a few days. I bought 4 baguettes, 4 mille fuille, 4 chocolate cakes and 2 boxes of mixed macaroons for $100. So not cheap but the flavor and presentation was nice. It's a must try in Houston. They do not suffer from a lack of business. So lines can be long. They are efficient however!! Bon appetit

I also heard great things about the mango mochi so we couldn't leave without those. Thankfully they still had some in stock. I heard they sell out quickly especially on weekends. Those also lived up to its hype. SO YUMMY! Tastes so fresh including the mangoes. My kiddo who LOVES mango anything loved them so much! My husband also got 2 savory pastries (I forgot what they were called and I forgot to take a picture) and those were yummy too. Perfectly flakey crust just like the egg tarts. We wanted to get sesame balls but they were sold out. Customer service was great. The guy that took our order was very nice. It was pretty busy but he moved through the line quickly. There's some seating inside if you want to eat there. Prices are very reasonable at $2 each for the mochi and egg tarts. The savory pastries were $3. It's located in a shared lot/area. Parking can be tight and limited on a busy weekend day but they have parking right out front for the Eck bakery customers. Also note that if you pay with card it's a 2.5% charge so cash is better if you have it. We didn't but we know now for future. We had a great experience here and will definitely be back. Next time we'll come earlier and get a bigger order and try their other offerings.

As I'm Viet and have never had Cambodian coffee, this was my only frame of reference, and I didn't love it. Beware parking here at busier times - when I visited on a Saturday at 1:30pm it was mayhem. On entering, I saw an array of desserts and savory items. I decided to also pick up a savory kolache-type pastry (I never got the name of it) and the cake! The employee was quick and helpful - she located the cake, showed me the design and lettering to make sure it was ok before I left. The cake was a huge hit! We loved the light sponge cake with layers of whipped cream which were light and not too sweet. Then layer of cherries was lovely. The fruits on top were fresh and nicely arranged. The appearance was gorgeous as well, with chocolate shavings delicately arranged on the outside. We were not too impressed by the kolache. I was also able to try their pandan cake slice on another visit and loved the flavoring, lightness of the cake and the icing was very tasty.
