First off, the lunch special is where it's at. I got 4 entrees and 3 soups for $50- and this food will last me and my bf for at LEAST the whole weekend (breakfast/lunch/dinner). Lunch special is only Mon-Sat until 3:30pm so make sure you are timing your order right. Below is what I ordered: -3 maki roll special ($13.95): -2 spicy crab salad roll- This place legit has the best spicy crab salad roll I've ever eaten. This is one of my fav rolls and I always like to order it at other sushi places but other places never hit the same. The roll at Yamato has a slight crunch to it and the crab salad is seasoned and moist. -1 eel avocado roll- hits, pretty hard to mess this one up. -also comes with a side of soup -Teriyaki Yakiniku ($10.95): I always get this. Beef is tender and the fried rice is sooo good. Seasoned well and not too mushy and not too hard. Hits even more with the yumyum sauce drizzled on top. Pretty big serving- I can never finish the whole thing. Also they only give you two, but the glazed carrots are so good. This also comes with a side of soup. -Salmon Teriyaki ($10.95): I can't believe how affordable this is. Basically the same thing as the previous entree but salmon. You get two fillets that are kinda thin but live sup to the price. Well seasoned, though not as soft as other places. Also comes with a side of soup. -Chicken Yakisoba ($14.50): this was my first time having this dish here, it was okay. Kinda just tasted like lomein but not as seasoned- I had to pour lots of soy sauce over it. Personally wouldn't recommended unless you are looking for a basic and kinda bland noodle dish (might be good for kids?). Oh the chicken was a lil dry too. But it wasn't horrible- I still ate it because I like all noodles but prob won't go for this one again. The sides of soup are all good. The miso soup is a basic miso soup. The clear soup I think is just chicken broth? But then also has a few scallions and mushrooms which have obviously been previously dried. I feel like the lunch specials also used to come with a side salad but maybe they changed that? Anyway the salad dressing they give is usually BOMB and I'm sad I didn't get any this time. We ordered takeout and the wait was 30 minutes but there's plenty of things to do around the area while you wait. The staff are all nice, and it's not usually too busy inside. When I went in around 3 there were basically no dine in tables and like two other people picking up takeout. Overall, you have to know which dishes are good or not and if you want the bang for your buck, wait for lunchtime. If you get one thing out of this review... get the spicy crab salad roll and the beef yakiniku!!

Putting egg foo young gravy on the beef lo mein is an absolute game changer. They are very fast (except holidays it gets very busy) and the food is always hot, even when delivered. They have nice staff too. There's this one delivery driver he's a guy that walks a bit slow but he's great, super friendly and has been working there forever. If you're sick you absolutely have to get the chicken noodle soup. It's delicious and will make you feel much better. If their chicken soup doesn't make you feel better then call your family and say goodbye. Some things not too great are their fridge is not very cold so the drinks don't get as cold as they should and I was not a fan on the shrimp toast but I've never had it anywhere else. I highly recommend Hunan. I've been coming here for 20 years and still order at least once a month. Duck Sauce: Big bucket of industrially prepared packets by the ordering window. Not a good sign. I grabbed a few and also asked for duck sauce in the bag. The cook pointed to the bucket. "You don't also have real duck sauce?" He reluctantly put two mini containers (same color) in the bag. The stuff in the container tastes like orange, watered down but thick. The packet version tasted similar but with more chemicals. Offputting to say the least. Both tasted like Triaminic cold and allergy syrup. Frankly, I think I'd rather have the Triaminic. Boneless Ribs: Went with a small order that generously filled a plastic pint container. Well glazed, brick red color, very nice char, and a mixture of sizes and textures (some moist, some dry). The glaze seems primarily a mix of standard red and either hoisin or brown Chinese barbecue paste, plus a fragrant component I can't place. Appealing in short spurts. Above average. Orange Chicken (on a combo): Standard bumpy pieces with standard crunch, with the chicken underneath neither moist nor dry. Generic, mild sauce: faintly sweet, faint orange flavor, no heat, no orange peel, no complementary components. Plenty of pieces, but roughly average; maybe a bit below. Egg Roll (on the combo): On the small side, nicely segregated in a glassine bag. Crunchy both outside and in, with a filling of celery-cabbage-pork mix, with very noticeable seasonings reminiscent of Vietnamese egg rolls. A little on the dry side. The good news: easily remedied with duck sauce. The bad news: it's THAT duck sauce. All things considered, average. Pork Fried Rice (on the combo): Yellow, very plain, and neither moist nor dry, but closer to dry. Lingering hints of herbal flavor, though mostly just very plain. Small pieces of pork not that noticeable or helpful. Well below average. I won't call Hunan Place "bad," since everyone's palate is different. Someone who grew up in that part of New England may love it. Let's just say I wasn't feeling this place. With very yellow rice and very orange duck sauce, I have a feeling I won't be alone.
