Cute little juice bar with AMAZING empanadas. I've ordered delivery from here before (with an ondemand app whose service is quickly declining so I won't name, ha) and the shrimp empanadas were INCREDIBLE! Came in since I was in the area and the aesthetic is way better than most juice bars with ample seating for a quick bite. Customer service was phenomenal. They updated me on changes to the menu (more options) and the newest empanada to the family (pizza burger). All in all I'll probably visit more now that I know what it's like inside. Overall, I'd day this is a pretty solid spot. I ordered their Spinach and Ricotta empanada and their Mixed Vegetable empanada. They were tasty and great vegetarian options (I preferred the Spinach and Ricotta). My husband ordered the Pastelon empanada and the Beef empanada. He said they were delicious (especially the beef). They had a cute outdoor seating area and lots of plants! I wouldn't say they make the best empanadas ever, but they'll def satisfy your cravings! read more

Came here twice; both times I got empanadas. To me, the best ones are the Cuban, Rope Veja, &Chicken.. there are a few more I would love to try. The ones I wasnt too found of were the beef (it was so dry), the shrimp (didnt really have flavor) and the plain chicken was just okay. Today I tried something new and got a side of rice and beans with pernil and I wish I hadnt. The total of it was 11.50 and it was not worth that much, via portion and taste wise. The pernil had no seasoning on it and thats weird, since pork is salty and the beans tasted so regular. The amount of pork given, was not worth 6.50; so disappointed. But the empanadas were good, I guess that semi makes up for it. Definitely would be back again again, but only for the empanadas of course! read more

Their food is really good but they stay getting order wrong. Every time I order online, they say it's delivered as soon as the courier picks it up so I can't even track him/her. Today I got two of something I ordered one of and one was missing completely. This place is consistently unreliable. Pics as proof. Once again, they just can't get it right. I called in an order for pick up, they answered and asked me to wait 2 minutes... 10 minutes pass and nothing. I just heard all of the noise in the background. I had to hang up and call again. He was apologetic but I still had to wait upon arrival. They gave me some smoothie for free but still, I don't think they'll ever get it together. At least they got the order right today. read more

I was especially impressed by the grease-free shells, not to mention the various beef, chicken, and pork stuffings we sampled, which all boasted tender meat. If I had to choose a favorite, I'd go with the Ropa Vieja. If I had to nitpick, I'd go ahead and quote hubby: " The Cuban tastes good, but there isn't any pickle or Swiss cheese flavor." I also got to speak to the owner who told me his future plans for this place such as getting their liquor license soon and having fun events during the weekends. I bought the shrimp, signature chicken, beef and plantain and cheese. My favorite was most definitely the shrimp. The sweet plantain and cheese was really good too (not a combo that I'd try on my own but Jeremy persuaded me to try and I don't regret! ) The avocado sauce with them all is simply heavenly. I wanted to be overwhelmed.. but I was a little underwhelmed by the food here. I tried the pastelon empanada, Cuban empanada, apple empanada, and guava and cheese empanada as well as the rice with shrimp and a frozen piña colada. The piña colada was the most underwhelming. It was not sweet at all. Tasted like water with essence of coconut and a hint of coconut cream, but barely any sugar at all. Idk about you but when I order a piña colada I expect it to be sweet by default. The apple empanada was the second most underwhelming thing I ordered. I love apple anything.. apple pie, apple crumble... everything. But this apple empanada was very bare bones and lacked sweetness as well. It's a dessert empanada... definitely should have been sweeter. The pastelon empanada was decent. The platano chunks inside were a little big and kinda hard, but the empanada was still tasty and I'd get that again. The Cuban empanada was good, nothing I'd rave about but good enough to reorder. The guava and cheese empanada was the best. Definitely something I'd reorder. I haven't eaten the shrimp and rice... I'm saving that for dinner... but I'm not holding my breath for it based on the other underwhelming things I had. Anyway, since this is only my first time ordering from here I think I'll give this place another shot and update my review accordingly. read more

Ariyana was a great host from the time we walked in till the time we left. After sitting here and getting some info on the location. I found out it was a family owned business and they are very friendly and warm. Her uncle which is the owner, is a very funny person. I can see that they pride themselves on quality and service. So I had broccoli and cheese, ground beef, sweet plantains and cheese and chicken. May sound like a lot but for $2 each it's a good deal. Need I say they were all awesome and I will be back again. I would call this a hidden gem. Theses empanadas were not too greasy or too hot to eat. They were seasoned well and were good from the first bit to the last. The food and drinks are pretty solid. The ropa vieja is meaty, moist, and tender inside of its crisp shell. Definitely recommend. The cheese and broccoli was a bit on the bland side and the cheese isn't really a melting kind of cheese, more like a firm queso fresco. Not bad though. The three sauces are avocado, pink, and heat. Right off the bat, just skip the pink sauce. The Mayo and ketchup make it taste like a mainstream burger joint's secret sauce and the garlic flavor is a bit overwhelming and stale. The avocado is cool and rich which isn't bad. The heat has some nice chili flavor so I do recommend that. I got the morir sonando which is oj with evaporated milk. It tastes like exactly that and isn't anything to write home about. Would be good on a hot day though. The venue is very nice and cozy. Good feel for a quick snack or a casual date. The guys behind the counter are very friendly. Overall, the food and value are okay, but don't strike me as outstanding in execution or authenticity. read more

The ground beef was shredded which was different, I'm wondering if they gave me the right order but none the less it was good. I also tried the shrimp which had a weird taste to me. The food was great again, but, only one issue the bags that they came in was not labeled with what was in each bag so that meant cutting into almost all of them to figure out what was what and a few were different types in one bag, only reason I didn't give five stars. Needless to say we were not too happy about that, but, after all was figured out they enjoyed the food. Also the sauce should be given with 10 or more empanadas and any additional should be charged not automatic cost for the sauce. Can't wait for Bushwick to open had to travel there to get the food not a problem for me it was my choice. So at least once a week when I'm in Brooklyn , I pass by this spot but it's always after hours when it's closed. Today i passed by ...its open and boy did I get lucky. These empanadas are on point. I had the beef , specialty chicken, plain chicken, sweet plantain with mozzarella and they were all delicious. The service was warm, friendly and very accommodating. I absolutely love the empanadas from here. I've tried a variety of them and while they're all good, my favorite by far are the ropa vieja empanadas. Juicy, perfectly flavored, beefy goodness enveloped in a crispy, deep-fried pastry shell-- what more could you ask for? Highly recommend it with the heat sauce, if you enjoy spicy foods. This has been my neighbourhood for 39 years.. and while there are lots of changes many are not happy about - this is one that I've gladly welcomed into the area. Finally had the change to pop in last week with my son after his music lessons and we ended up staying for an hour. I adore the decor, the warm staff and the overall feel and vibe of the place. You instantly feel at home and this is very hard to come by within 2 minutes after entering most establishments. - ROPA VIEJA - * My NUMBER ONE CHOICE! - just amazing - SHRIMP - My son's NUMBER ONE CHOICE - I have no idea how delicious it is.. because he refused to share with his own Mother...lol - BEEF - Perfect with the spicy avocado cilantro crema and red sauce - CUBAN - Could use a bit more salt - but again - with the sauces - it's perfect - APPLE PIE - I just needed ice cream and I might have cried...so good. - GUAVA/CHEESE - My absolute FAV...I'm craving it right now..
