When I went in looking for a crv I wasn't sure if I wanted hybrid or gas and I didn't know how much my trade in was worth but Steve took his time to give me a test drive on both versions and didn't put me in a high pressure sales tactic so I actually went home after the test drives did some research on my car and the car I wanted before heading back. He was also extremely available as I just gave him a call he gave me a time for me to come in and we got the deal done that day. Amazing service from Steve if you go there looking for a car as for him.

My goal was to check out a deal I found on CARFAX. 2025 Honda CR-V $25,596 and it only has 7256 miles. I normally don't drive 50 miles away from home to see something ordinary. Something tells me this was a great deal. I sent my inquiry on November 12, 2025. Shortly after, the internet manager Siarra responded. On November 15, I received an email telling me the vehicle was still available. On Monday, November 17, I walked into the dealership and asked for Siarra. Instead, I was told that a floor salesperson will be helping me. A helpful car salesman named Erik came to assist me. I went to his desk to check out that car I inquired about. What? It doesn't exist? It can't be sold because I got a confirmation email that morning. He said I should had went to the dealership's website to verify if that car still available. Wait. If it's not available, wouldn't that be Siarra's responsibility to contact me? Why is it suddenly the customer's fault. After talking back and forth about the cars that would meet my criteria and budget, he agreed to show me a HR-V EX-L for $27,433. Basically, there were no SUV's in my price range. Not sure why he even show me this vehicle and not telling me the price before I get off of the car. The HR-V was nice with souped up bells and whistles. Yeah. I would have to pay more for the modern convenience. After I parked the car, he walked to someone in another car to chitchat. I looked around the car to see if this car suits me while waiting for him. I found a few deficiencies. One, HR-V doesn't have assist bar above the car windows. I really need them because sometimes I need to pull myself out of the car. Two, the rear seat was so short. I can't easily get into the seat. Then, I started walking to check out other cars in the lot. Oh, the colors are very limited to black and white. Blue one is the sports model. At that point, I was done. There wasn't any reason to stick around. I went back to the showroom and tell the sales manager bye. I was really disappointed and wasted 3 hours of my time driving to Clear Lake to experience a switch and bait.

After checking to make sure there was no obvious blowout, we decided to park the car and look into the issue when we returned on March 5th. So this morning when we got off the ship, the light was still there, so we drove straight to the dealership. We were greeted promptly and our issue was inspected and resolved quickly. The only part of our experience that keeps this review from being 5 stars is that my wife needed a new battery for her key fob. She's the primary driver of our VW. So hers gets alot more use than mine. They charged us $14 to change the battery. My issue isn't the amount. It's the fact that we were even charged at all. I consider Volkswagen a quality car manufacturer. I don't expect to be nickled and dimed for trivial things. Especially when the car is barely 2 years old. I've been a customer of Gulf Coast Nissan for 19 years and they've NEVER charged me to replace a key fob battery. I consider Volkswagen to be of higher class than Nissan. Your customer service perks should reflect that.

Pictures were taken so I couldn't see body damage. Was told they would replace obvious damage body panels. Instead they slopped body filler and paint over the PDR work and hide other damage. They even got filler on a tire and didn't bother to clean it off. Touch screen has dead spots and to be replaced. If that's not bad enough, they promised to next day the signed paperwork including the purchase agreement and title. Never got anything. Now they ghost me on email, phone calls and texts. The auto company that owns VW of Clear Lake is named Feel Good Automotive group. Too bad you won't feel good buying from this dishonest company.

Anyways, I scheduled an appointment and they switched out my front brakes under warranty. No more squeaks. My people were courteous and helpful people. So, once they had a strategy for the problem, they switched it out. The dealer just had to wait on corporate.

The single star here is based solely on our experience with this dealership. First, we've bought two vehicles here to the tune of about $70K. We liked the place. Did we get great deals? No. But they made it fairly easy, other than the finance guy, who swore that he could get us a better interest rate to no avail. He also made a hard sale on an extended warranty because "There is three miles of wiring in every car for the computer system," to which I replied "Well, I sincerely hope that Toyota used decent wiring, because if you're trying to sell me an additional warranty before we drive off the lot, that makes me nervous." But I digress. The two experiences since then prompted me to buy cars (only) online through Carvana. The first experience was the service. Plainly and simply, we brought the vehicle in for Toyota Care (oil change, etc.) and the service dude delivered hard pressure for us to buy various filters. I told him "I have cabin and air filters in my own garage that I can install myself." It's true. I'm a dork that way, and it's mainly because changing cabin and air filters isn't rocket science, and I can do it without the $50 add-on charge. The service guy claimed that I would void all factory warranties by installing these myself. After a call to Toyota, I learned that he was as full of it as a Christmas Turkey. It's a shame, because I now refuse to take our cars there for any service (I drive an Avalon' ; wife drives a Lexus; daughter drives a Rav 4). They lost a bit of money because of their pressured and desperate approach. The second and final experience involved us going to this place to buy a used car for our daughter. They had a creampie on the lot -- a grandma car that was a little old but with very few miles and in pristine condition. The sales guy told us that he turned down two previous offers for the car because it was such a great deal. (They both were willing to pay sticker, according to him.) Well, I've been in sales and advertising ... and I have friends and relatives who sell cars for a living, and they all confirmed to me that he was trying to gouge us. So, we made an offer that we hoped would get the deal moving, and he said "Let me go talk to my manager." (Yeah, right.) After about 15 minutes of sitting in a glass office, I officially became insulted. Did the guy go "talk to the manager?" No. Come to find out, he was out on the lot trying to gouge someone else. We left, and on the way out, we poked our heads in the manager's office and let him know how the cow ate the cabbage. He acted confused and worried, but he would never win an Oscar. Truth is, he didn't care. And neither did the sales guy. Lesson learned. I see Mac Haik plates on cars all the time. If you've had a good experience there, more power to you. But our experiences here have caused us to avoid car dealerships at all costs. In other words, Mac Haik Toyota has ruined (our) business with all other brick-and-mortar dealers. Yes. They are that sleazy. No only on the sales end, but also on the service end. Horrible. Caveat emptor.

I recently purchased a vehicle from this dealership over the July 4 weekend. Normally I do not give…read morea five star ratings to business as it usually requires them to go above and beyond what One would expect. This was actually the case with Clear Lake Autoworld. It's a little things To begin the inventory that they have on the website is the actual inventory that they have on site at the location. Do you know that I did advanced research to determine the exact vehicle that I wanted by range of year's mileage price I knew exactly what I can get and what I should expect. So my review it's pretty comprehensive as it covers everything from the website being easy to navigate, responsiveness of the dealership from when initially contacted, actual information on the website as far as phone number and physical address, and the courtesy provided by the staff there at the dealership. What I found at this dealership is at what they say on the website as what they have. There were some big name brand dealerships that would put bait vehicles on the website and when I called they were so conveniently have just so that vehicle, but then the next day or two that exact vehicle will be back up on their website again You also have the issue of either private sellers or dealers not posting on the website that the title on the vehicle was either salvage or that the mileage was incorrect (off by 30k to 40k miles) of what they posted on the website. All of it just gimmicks to get someone in the door and on the ground so that they can try to sell you something that you don't want. Additionally, you have all these dealerships that do not accept cash offers. Other dealerships wanna try to scam you into the financing to where they make money off you more there than actually selling you the vehicle for cash. Not so at Clear Lake Autoworld, they do have financing available but had no problem excepting the cash offer. As far as pricing goes the price I alternately paid was a fair price. Kelley blue book provides a range of what you should expect to pay for a vehicle and though it wasn't on the lowest Clear Lake Autoworld was not on the high end either. They were right in the middle with spare pricing on the vehicle. The other issue I found very positive is the vehicles being sold at Clear Lake Autoworld are in great condition. I can't tell you how many vehicles I went to go see that had great pictures but when I got there the dealerships or the sellers had laid some cut out carpet over the actual carpet upholstery of the vehicle so that the picture was nice. But of course when you picked up that overlay carpet The vehicles actual carpet was all tore up or the interior just must not in good condition. Just like a selfie Dealers no it's all about the angle. But not so at Clear Lake Autoworld what you saw in the pictures was what you saw when you arrived. They also went above and beyond and made sure that when I was going to pick up my vehicle they did one last check mechanically of the vehicle, insured no engine lights were on I would come on, or wherever even there, plus they did a oil change and filter change and they also ensure that they were new floor mats included. This is a little above and beyond that I'm talking about. As you know when you buy a used vehicle you're expecting to buy a new floor mats anyway. But Clear Lake Autoworld did that for me as a little extra. Not saying that's what I do for everyone but that is my experience with them. As far as dealing with the staff there Shane and Linda were great. Very down to earth people, telling you what they have and doing their best for you. Appreciate their honesty, straightforwardness, and just willingness to be helpful And making the car buying experience as pleasant as possible. So I will definitely when I start looking for a new used vehicle whenever that is next Clear Lake Autoworld will definitely be the first place I stopped to see and check their inventory. Never know what kind of germs you can find there is what I'm thinking.

Even after I moved an hour away, I only went to them for simple oil changes, inspections, etc.. I was a loyal customer. Out of the blue one day Fertitta calls saying they can get me in a newer vehicle for the same or lower payments. Instead of doing my homework on the new name, I dove straight in thinking I could still trust their word as I had with Norman Frede. They let me test drive a new truck and told me I'd be able to have the same payments as my current vehicle.. so I said why not. Well a few weeks down the road when I set up my account it was not in fact the same payment. Then when I spoke to Tonia she was talking to me like I was stupid with her "Oh honey" and laughing. They bamboozled me 100%. And icing on the cake, when I went to get my plates, the girl behind the desk just handed them to me. First time I've ever purchased a vehicle and not had them put the plates on. You would think after my years of loyalty there would be someone who cared enough to make it right. I've spoken to a few dealerships about my situation and they all told me I was screwed over bad. So if you were a long time Norman Frede buyer, save your time and money and look elsewhere first. The messed up part is I wasn't even looking. They called me.
