Emerson's has the best donuts in town! Great place to stop in and grab some donuts and walk around Latonia. The service at the shop is always incredibly friendly and welcoming. My wife is also a huge fan of their cookies. Emerson's is the place for all of your bakery needs! read more

A good selection for mid morning on a Saturday. We enjoyed a mini danish, a fried croissant roll, a fluffy something that was like a Boston cream puff and 2 regular donuts. I think the mini danish was too heavy to be in such a compact shape. I'm sure the big ones are better. read more

If you enjoy poor service, bad attitudes, and expired food/drinks, then this is the place for you! Don't even think about asking for prices of donuts or you'll be met with snippy attitudes from teenagers who will service you expired items. We got chocolate milk today on June 7th that had expired in June 1st. Are we really not taking inventory on items and checking for freshness? Makes me worried about how long other ingredients have been sitting back there. read more

I stopped by after work today to pick up some Halloween cookies. The worker was waiting on a man who had arrived before me. They began talking politics loudly and the worker responding to something the man said with a "f*ck yeah". I left and don't plan on being back. Stopped with my kids mid afternoon Tuesday for a quick snack to hold us over until we found lunch as "DAD" didn't check the hours of our primary objective (Bard's Burgers which is a few doors away is closed on Tuesdays, Mondays, and Sundays!!). Ended up getting half dozen donuts. These are a step above Dunkin and Krispy Kreme! Very tasty and didn't leave that greasy aftertaste you sometimes find (think Kroger's or even Dunkin and Krispy Kreme) Having said that, I can't say I would drive out of the way for donuts here. They were good but nothing mind-blowing. I should also point out this is a full scale bakery, and I'm going to raise my 3 stars to four just because it had that happy, bakery smell. The young person behind the counter was helpful, but not really personable, you know, friendly and talkative. Nothing negative to say about them, just not "happy", but we all have days like that. I will say a customer came in who has bought a loaf of bread earlier and stated she forgot to ask for it to be cut, and the young person took the loaf, cut it and bagged it and handed it back to the lady without saying another word. LOL. I just shook my head. Oops, this review is turning away from a review of the donuts to a review of our young people's social skills...sorry! So, good donuts!!!! read more

I feel beyond disrespected by the African-American lady who worked there this morning. I went to pick up a DoorDash order and I wanted to try one of the donuts myself because I always heard that they're amazing. I walk in and go straight to the counter and she comes up to the register and says "ummmm excuse me" and rolls her eyes dramatically! Makes me step to the side while she helps somebody behind me. Needless to say, I didn't buy any donuts and I will not be returning.. first impression and nobody wants to go somewhere to enjoy something with negativity and disrespect. I stopped in today to satisfy my craving. The time was just before noon. There were plenty of options to choose from. The service was fast and friendly. I was very pleased with my selections. Traditional glazed and glazed with raisins was a great texture, soft and tender. Chocolate iced cake donut was moist and yummy. Also ordered a couple of what resembled a cinnamon roll but had apples in it. Really really really good! I also greatly appreciated the fact that my goodies were very reasonably priced! I rarely get donuts, but decided since I drive right by, I'd stop at Emerson's and get a couple on the way to work. I ordered a chocolate glazed and another. Paid and went to work. At work I was looking forward to the treat and when I went to get the chocolate and it was smushed against the side of the bag, so all the chocolate came off. If I could post a picture, you would see a donut that has no chocolate on it, only a shadow of its former glory. It'll be a while before I go back. read more

We were leaving Bards Burger (which is a must have by the way!) and we saw this bakery on the corner. Of course the thought of a bakery cookie pulled me right in effortlessly. Smelled fresh, looked great and I was excited to snag a few things. It was a Saturday afternoon so I was assuming everything would be delicious and fresh! We grabbed a couple cookies, cream horns, carrot cake and an apple danish. Excited to dive right into the box of goodies that was embellished with a ribbon, it was game time. I was oddly unimpressed with the cream horns. The texture of the cream was airy, thin and liquidated a bit. I was expecting a thick icing like filling that would have me wanting more. I wasn't a fan and would not recommend. The cookies were like any other cookie, not gooey soft and fresh but had a crunch and dense. Overall, it was a fun little bakery but could improve on the freshness of the inventory. read more

I placed an order with this location almost three weeks ago. I ordered a 7 inch cake (with specific design) and 36 cupcakes, which 18 had blue icing and 18 had blue sprinkles. This was all a theme for my grandson's first birthday. I stated that I needed the order by 10 AM on Saturday, May 21st. Well May 21st came and I arrived at 11:15 AM. The young girl behind the counter looked at me and then the clock and I indicated that I was here to pick up my order. She went in the back and brought out the 7 inch cake (which was exactly what we wanted), but then she stated that there would be another truck coming in around 15-20 minutes. I told her that I my order was for 10 AM and couldn't understand why there was only one thing in the order. She seemed confused as well. I stated that I could not wait another 15-20 minutes as I had to be in Ohio. She apologized (which this was not her fault, we I told her that), but I was very upset. With no other bakeries in the area, we were excited for Emerson's to open. I recently come in one morning to grab a donut for the family. My goodness. It was terrible. I got a cinnamon swirl that was topped with a maple icing and covered in gritty pieces of nut and coconut. It was dry and nearly inedible. I even warmed it up for a few seconds. It didn't help. My son was happy with his zebra and my husband was not impressed with his cinnamon twist. Maybe their other products are good? I don't know. I won't be back to try again. I have been going to Emerson's for about 15 years now and have always considered their donuts to be the best I've ever had and super affordable. Their prices have gone up since I started going and I still consider buying a dozen every single time I'm in there just because I know I will eat them all no matter what because of the quality and taste. They have a few interesting ones out there but I love their classic chocolate long johns! Definitely would recommend this place, and do often to my friends. read more
