I have to say that I was not a big fan of this place, however I would go back and try and savory frybread dish. I had just a simpl frybread with honey. I was not a fan, that the minute they pulled the frybread out of the fryer they added the honey. It made it a conbination of hot as hell and watery because it was hot. Because it was hot and watery, all the honey ran to the dipped spots of the bread, so most of my frybread didn't have anything on it was was plain. The taste of the frybread was not a awesome either. It was kind of bland and thin so it was a little dry. I expected the bread to be thick and moist. Like I said I would go back and have a savory diswh to see if I am any more impressed. read more

We came for Taqueria Los Yaquis and found that they were on vaca, so Emerson Fry Bread graciously stepped in to fill the void. They're good, but not Yaquis good. The tacos, although delicious, are noticeably smaller in size. The cashier was friendly and accommodating, offering extra guac and cilantro at no cost. Tried these guys on/at Food Truck Friday. I'd never been and was a little overwhelmed by all the options so we just went for the one with the smallest line. The food came out pretty fast. I had the "D$" which is fry bread with beans and chicken green chili on top. It had very little cheese and sour cream sauce which would have been nice, and they use a mixed lettuce blend which was weird (mostly arugula and spinach instead of iceberg lettuce). One of these "tacos" is from $5 - $7. Not bad but not great. read more

The Fry bread itself is fantastic. Too bad everything Emerson puts on it isn't. It's not bad, but there's nothing special about it. No seasoning. No sauce. Just a pile of bland mexican food tossed on top of the bread. Emerson is a regular at Food Truck Friday, and appears to have fans all over the valley. Very, very disappointed in this "company". We scheduled them for a school carnival weeks in advance. The day before the event, after many calls were not returned, they canceled. The school spent money on fliers announcing they will be there. We had to scramble last minute to fill the spot. They are very unreliable, Their Facebook page said they went to a different venue that night. They PTA president was in tears. I would never recommend this "company" to anyone. read more

I was so excited to try Emerson Fry Bread at our pre-booked staff event. We went outside at noon at their scheduled time to wait for the truck and they didn't show up. We called them to check in they just said, "All we can do is say sorry," without any option of re-booking or offering to re-schedule. They said they were double booked and chose to go to the other place because there would be more people there - they didn't even tell us! Horrible customer service - I would NOT rely on this company to book any event, as they might just not show up and not warn you. :( read more

I am trying not to think about my experience. I ordered the Jazzy and was about halfway finished eating when I recognized a dead cricket mixed in with the meat and beans. I took it back to the boy who was taking the orders who in turn gave it to the woman inside the truck. She apologized. No money back. Gross! read more

Despite having been in Arizona for a while now, I had never gotten the chance to try bread and boy what a mistake that was! Emerson Fry Bread has a truck that comes to my job often and I finally decided to try it. I got the Yolli and the Kai Kai and was not disappointed. I usually go to four peaks tasting room every Sunday and check out different food trucks. This has to be my favorite of the bunch so far. The dishes are extremely good, huge portions and well priced. When they are at the tasting room they take some of the 8th street ale and make a bratwurst & fry bread combo which is really good. I eat here regularly for lunch and have had the burritos and the fry bread which are great. Last week they had a chili relleno which I tried for the first time and it was the bomb! Not your typical restaurant style, but still a truly awesome version with lots of cheese, meat and served on a bed of rice. They are always friendly and have fast lunch service. I love this food truck! The gentleman running the truck was very charming and delightful but also quite serious about food. Everything was very fresh! I had the burrito bowl since I am watching my weight ( I really wanted fry bread though!). The carne asada was cooked perfectly and with the right amount of spices. The rice was fluffy and the salad greens were very fresh and flavorful. The salsa was excellent and again just the right amount of spicy. There was also a creamy sauce served on side that was so good! It was almost like a green goddess dressing. Anyway overall wonderful experience, the food was fresh and prepared quickly! Extremely disappointed. Bought 10 tacos 6 steak and 4 chicken was given all chicken. Its like they ripped chicken right off of a chicken leg or thigh and put it in a tortilla. It was so bland and flavorless. I usually go to Taqueria every other week but they weren't here so I thought I would give it a try. I would have been more satisfied with Taco Bell. I went with the street tacos and was a little more than mildly disappointed. While I appreciated the mixed greens and flavorful salsa and the green chile chicken was excellent, the puerco pibil was a little bland, although it IS a Southern Mexican/Central American dish, so I can't blame them too much for not getting it right. My problem was the time: I was told it would be about 7 minutes and it ended up taking more like 15. It's not that I was in a hurry, but when I got back to my office 3 minutes later, the tacos were cold. I get that it's fair to make customers' food in order, but it seemed like my tacos had been sitting there while everybody else's frybreads were frying, so people in front of me got fresh frybread and I ended up with cold tortillas :( Unless there's only one, maybe two people ahead of you, I'd just go with a frybread and wait it out. read more

Awesome food truck! I work right across from the Phoenix Public Market, where Food Truck Friday is held every week. I don't usually go to the food trucks since there aren't many gf options. Last week I went with a friend and stopped at Emerson to get a Sedona Sunset...which was amazing. I mentioned that I am gluten free & the owner told me they could bring gf fry bread if they have advanced notice. I messaged them on Thursday & they brought it this past Friday. It was amazing! I will give Emerson good reviews on the quality and taste of their food but that's it. I give them lower than one star for operating as a business. Poopr communication and unreliable. They were hired for a large two day event in the fall that several thousand people attended and I experienced poor communciation the entire few months leading up to the event, including confirmation of attending-they never confirmed so I thought that meant they were not coming. They showed up on the first day of the event with no apology and I had to re-arrange our event set up for them instead of turning them away. The second day of our two day event they did not show up and never communicated this-even though they committed to the two days. I never got an apology. They were allowed to sell at our event and keep the profits, however per the contact, we did have a food truck fee. I still have not recieved this payment. I've attempted several phone calls, emails and have heard nothing from them. I don't like to write poor reviews, but I want others who are hiring them for a large event to be aware. Such a dissapointment! read more
