Her review was from 4 years ago and upgrades have been made and I can attest to management and the care that is given here big first rate. My opinion is Sherry had exaggerated expectations. A number of improvements must have been made in the last 4 years as I find it comfortable safe and secure to be here. No it is not a five-star resort but for an assisted living facility which I've been to a few this one is nice. There is the definite difficulty with so many of us in our senior years that need to feel comfortable and well cared for and a paramount necessity for feeling safe.

We received a call from Taylor to advise us that she was working on a replacement, but if she could not find one SHE WOULD COME HERSELF. They furnished us with all of their licenses and insurance to assure they were fully insured and licensed. We are glad we chose them!

The front desk staff is really pleasant and so ready to assist when you walk through those doors whenever I have come to visit. I love the type of care the Seniors receive. They also have an amazing Bible study on Tuesdays which is good for their souls. I can't say enough good things about them. There are so many good people from Housekeeping, Restaurant and Maintenance employees that I would love to recognize each and everyone of them for taking such good care of all The seniors that live here. No one had checked on him, and by the time he was found, he was nearly dead. After his stay in the ER, he was admitted to a rehab facility for three months. During this entire time, he continued to pay rent at Thunderbird. While he was away, his apartment became uninhabitable due to a water leak. People were in and out constantly making repairs. Within a month of his return--still recovering, foggy, and dealing with incontinence--he was served eviction papers. We already had additional cleaning services arranged and a plan in place, but Michael, the director, chose to send court papers directly to my dad without notifying any family members. He knew an 86-year-old man fresh out of the hospital could not advocate for himself in court. It was heartless, to say the least. My dad didn't fully understand what the papers meant and didn't tell us; he thought Michael's threat to call the sheriff was just that--a threat. Thank God for the good people at Cornerstone who reached out to me. I live out of state and had no idea what Thunderbird was planning. The way Thunderbird handled this situation showed a complete lack of integrity and ethics. Please don't be misled by their claims of genuinely caring about the well-being of your loved ones--because in our experience, it simply wasn't true.

All of the caregivers have been compassionate, loving and caring to both of my parents' needs. The home itself is new, clean and beautifully designed. There is a large patio and backyard with mini golf. All the meals are home cooked and they pay attention to dietary needs. There are certified caregivers on site 24/7. This home accommodates up to 6 residents so it provides tailored attention to each resident. No one is lost in the shuffle like that of a larger facility. I hope this review helps any one who is faced with a difficult decision of where your love one can reside. My original goal was to have them move in with me however after observing all the love and care they receive now through this group home, I would have done my parents and myself a disservice. Hospice of the Valley persists at forcing Yelp to remove my review…read more Nurse 'Laura' virtually killed my father by minimizing care, creating an 'Atmosphere of Death,' by discouraging me from taking my father to emergency room while he continued to gasp for breath. Laura mentioned that my father could 'die enroute to hospital,' and that 'doctor would remove existing fluids from his lungs in the morning.' Callously, Laura spoke about my father's imminent death issue WHILST MY FATHER WAS CONSCIOUS AND AWARE OF HER MALICIOUS,CRUEL ADVICE. I left facility shortly thereafter, as Laura discouraged fire department from removing father to hospital,subsequent to my having phoned 911 Laura is an 'Angel of Death,' and should not be a medical professional. If you love your family member, STAY AWAY FROM HOSPICE OF THE VALLEY.
