We rushed her to the emergency vet praying for a miracle. For about twenty minutes she seemed to be doing better and we had hope. But once she was taken to the back, everything changed. Your team quietly entered the room and asked us to step into a private space. That's when we heard the words no pet parent ever wants to hear: "Maddie didn't make it." Our hearts broke in ways we never could have prepared for. Maddie wasn't just a dog she was our first and only family dog, our third child, the one who taught our kids about unconditional love. She had been with us since she was a tiny puppy and lived every chapter of our lives right beside us. Losing her feels like losing a piece of our home. Through all of this heartbreak, your compassion mattered more than you may ever know. The kindness, tenderness, and respect you showed Maddie and us during the most terrifying and painful moments of our lives will stay with our family forever. Our regular vet was closed, so we called around and were told this place had about a 3-hour wait. Fine. We got there at 9:00 PM expecting that. It is now 4:00 AM. We sat there for 7 HOURS and were NEVER seen. We literally had to leave because we have work in the morning. What's actually insane is that not a single person checked on us the entire time. No updates, no "hey we're running behind," nothing. Just completely ignored while sitting there all night with a dog in pain. When we finally asked for an update, the front desk worker, Emily (long brown hair), was rude, condescending, and had a nasty attitude. She told us we "weren't a priority" and that because other pets kept coming in, we were continuously getting pushed back. So basically, we were just expected to sit there indefinitely with zero communication. And honestly, the place didn't even feel clean. There were spiders and webs in the corners, which just made the whole experience feel even worse. I was referred here from a clinic in Indio, Ca - my 4 year old cat, Munster, had a sudden and dangerous GI/intestinal blockage. I drove to EPIC Vets on a Saturday evening and met with Dr. Owens who explained entire procedure with me and that it would be done sometime that evening/Sunday am. I received a text message that his surgery had started at ~11pm and Dr. Owens called me at ~midnight to update me on his post surgery status. Dr. Owens was able to do a much less invasive surgery than anticipated with his previous emergency medical experience. Every staff member I met with or spoke with over the 2 days Munster was there was extremely professional yet very friendly and able to explain things in a way that was detailed but easy to understand. I was able to pick Munster up on Monday afternoon and bring him back home - where he is currently doing well. If I ever have another emergency situation with one of my cats, or another pet - I would definitely bring them to EPIC Vets for critical care. read more

Honestly if I could give a hundred stars I would. So, yes it's costly. However, it's quality care. I took my extremely sick elderly dog in, thinking it would be an appointment for euthanasia. However we did the vet visit first, and ran more tests than I ever would have thought to or honestly wanted to. That being said, because they did run the tests, they discovered my dog had aspiration pneumonia. Treatable. Throughout the visit, the front staff was lovely and kind, techs were helpful, and the Dr was very friendly and clearly discussed treatment options. I had a cost list of low end and high end, and he was a patient in their overnight hospital. I was told I would be called the next day between 9am and 10, and at 915 I was called by the Dr. they said he was doing well, and there wasn't anything I couldn't do at home that they'd be doing, and said I can pick him up. Update: We're now at our regular vet in Vista because our poor baby's eyes and mouth started swelling up. I'm absolutely furious that this was misdiagnosed -- it's heartbreaking that we had to go through this after being brushed off earlier. And guess what, it was an allergic reaction to the bee sting. You'd think that vet would leave his ego at home and listen to the pet parents. We took our dog to Epic Vet after he was stung by a bee and began vomiting -- which our regular vet recommended us to go to the nearest ER. I even showed Dr. Saiman a photo of the stinger I removed, but he brushed it off, saying the picture was "blurry" and repeatedly claiming, "we don't know what caused it." He kept referring to the sting as a "superficial abrasion," which made me feel like he wasn't listening or taking the situation seriously at all. He spent like 2 minutes tops with us in the room. His attitude came across as arrogant and dismissive, like he thought he was above explaining things to concerned pet owners. Instead of compassion or clear communication, we got indifference. He recommended Cerenia and wipes, but the whole visit felt rushed and condescending. What makes this even more disappointing is that this is the second bad vet experience we've had since moving to Temecula -- and I had hoped Epic Vet would finally be different. Had to rush my dog here Christmas night he had a serious injury and had to be put down, the lady at the front desk and the doctor were very nice and helpful. I can't remember the Veterinarians name but he spoke gently, and when he put my dog down he explained everything and put us at ease. He took care of my dog even after he passed, and showed so much compassion. The entire staff was outstanding. Our Golden was very sick. Dr. Owen's was very honest, very empathetic and truly wanted what was best for our girl. Ultimately there wasn't much more we can do to help her. The entire staff was gentle, helped us, guided us and allowed us to have as much time as we need with our girl. They allowed us to have a private room before making the decision, they helped us with our young children. They truly are phenomenal. They gave me ink prints of her nose, paw and some of her hair. Not to mention, their prices were reasonable too. Which an emergency vet visit sounds scary, expensive and overwhelming they made it all easier. I came here because my pup was attacked by a neighbor dog and had some pretty bad lacerations. I arrived a few mins after 5 pm last night. We sat and waited till 8:15 pm to just be checked out by a tech. Then another hour to do an exam to give an estimate JUST TO GET STARTED. My poor pup sat there in pain for hours with no relief. I was pretty disappointed they didn't try to give him something to help with the pain while waiting. I understand they get busy and there's a wait but I thought 3/4 hours was pretty ridiculous. You could see my dog's bone through the gaping hole he had on his leg. Finally, 9pm came around and I had to leave my dog there overnight because they had to work on his leg. The estimate was 2,500. Mind blowing I got the estimate down a little but not much. I called at 8:50 this am to pick up my boy because no one called; they said he wasn't ready yet. They called me at 9:25 and said he was ready. I drive up here and arrived at 10:04, I've been waiting for about 40 minutes now. Not sure why they called me asking to pick him up at 9:25 and it's almost 11 and he's still not ready? For the amount of money I spent here I'm not that satisfied with this place. :/ The estimate lady was pretty sweet that helped out I am very thankful to have my puppy fixed but I wish it was a better experience with this business is all. My cat had an emergency in the middle of the night and we have no emergency vets directly near us. My fiancé was able to take our cat in, and the staff and care were amazing. There will be a wait since they tend to the more critical patients first, but that is to be expected. We understood that other pets needed immediate care so we had no problem. They were communicative throughout the entire process. My fiancé really enjoyed how welcoming the staff was and they offered water and coffee during the wait (much needed since it was right at midnight). I waited for a while to give a calm review of this mercenary, uncaring, and incompetent place. Dean was a 2 1/2 year old Lynx Point Siamese cat who was paraplegic from about 7 days old and I raised him from that point on. He was very healthy and got along very well. He was brought in for a urinary tract infection and he got a mucus plug blockage from It which I cleared. The infection was the greatest worry. Every person I talked to there was told he was paraplegic. The front staff was very friendly, but it went downhill very quickly from there. They took Dean to the back without us to be examined which I did not care for. Then they came out with an estimate of treatment for $7,000 and also gave the bare bones of $5,000. Both of those estimates were outrageous. When we said we could not afford that they then sent out the vet to talk to us. It went horribly wrong from there. He was very rude and uncaring and mainly tried to convince us to pay the higher amount. He cared very little about Dean or what I had to say. He was focused on the blockage and did not care that I had emptied his bladder that morning as I have done for 2 1/2 years 3 times a day or more because he was paraplegic. He kept saying his bladder was full and would not listen that I had emptied it that morning. He said" I don't think so". He also said we should just take him home to die. I will always feel guilty about letting that person treat him for a blockage and give him some much-needed antibiotics, They told us to come back in 2 hours at 6pm. We went out to dinner since we did not live close by. We got a phone call telling us to wait until 9:30pm. When we went to pick him up, they told us he was still groggy and asleep. What they brought out was Dean motionless with his eyes open and his pupils fixed and dilated which means he was basically brain dead. I also found out the medical staff never noticed he was paraplegic. When we got home, I lifted him from his carrier to discover a large pool of blood as long as Dean and he was still bleeding. I came to epic a few nights ago because my best friend's cat fell very sick while being boarded locally in Temecula. Within a few hours after ultrasound and bloodwork, they figured out that he had an aggressive form of cancer. Unfortunately, we had to send him to rainbow Bridge because there was no cure and he was in pain. Dr. Brayden and her team were amazing and compassionate. I was allowed to be with him at the end and they even allowed me to FaceTime my best friend who is in another state so that the doctor could do a real time visit, and also say goodbye to him right before the end. The facility is absolutely beautiful and the staff professional and compassionate. I highly recommend. Yes, emergency vet care is expensive... I think for the initial exam and diagnostics. She paid around $760. The cost of that is no one's fault and this is generally how it is with veterinary care. There was an extra fee for cremation services and everything that surrounds that , maybe an extra $350-$400. I believe CareCredit is an option so that you can make payments if you need to. I was there two days and my guy was taken in the back and left for hours, dehydrated & in pain. I only came to EPIC because the other emergency vet in town had a 6 hour wait. I was told to come in on day 1, wasn't seen. They assured me we would be seen on day 2. I left at the end of day 2 with a sick dog that hadn't been seen by a vet. Had Epic been honest and said they were full I would have gone elsewhere and prevented his suffering. Epic would rather have your pet wait in agony for unknown hours/days so that they can get your $$$. They don't care about your pets! Also, the owner came in on day 2 but didn't offer any assistance at all. JUST SAY YOU ARE FULL, anything else is animal abuse! read more

Zero compassion or urgency. Considering this facility has "emergency" in its name, you would imagine the staff would be trained in empathy or understanding the concern in a pet parent's voice. My wife called because our dog got into a backpack and ingested some highly toxic medication. My wife called them while I was on my way there and was told to "turn around and go back home to call poison control ourselves" because if they have to do it they're going to charge us 3x the amount. Mind you, the doctors say we have 2 hours from time of ingestion to act. It was already 45 minutes after this fiasco. Poison control told us to rush him back to a vet immediately. I pulled in, and after I told them the emergency, both people behind the counter had a look of inconvenience on their faces, and said, "well, our doctor is in surgery for any 45 minutes, then there are 2 more dogs ahead of you." Insane..... I ended up taking him to VCA in Murrieta and they were incredible. They matched our level of urgency and care for the situation and they were able to induce vomiting within minutes, and put him on a treatment plan to ensure there was no long-term effects. Big props to VCA, worth every penny to know our dog is well taken care of. Steer clear of EPIC with everything you can. read more

As a follow up on my initial review,I can only reiterate our horrible experience. I spoke with a " manager" on Sunday after Charlie was put down on Saturday. I shared our experience and my concern about the insensitivity of the vet throughout the experience. The manager gave me lip service about how this would serve as a learning experience. Two days later my daughter received an email asking how Charlie was doing! Are you kidding me? Unfortunately I had to give at least one star to post a review. I've never placed a Yelp review in the past but in the interest of others that have beloved pets I felt this was necessary. There are other animal hospitals and in the future we will make the drive. Patients are not seen between 7-8 a.m. due to a shift change, and even after that, rounds and incoming emergencies repeatedly push non urgent back. I brought my GSD in on 11/2/25 for a toe nail Fx. They did not tell me on the phone that they were at a new location. I had to help my 90 pound dog out of the car with non stop bleeding only to get to the clinic door and have no one answer. I get my dog back in the car and call and that's when I was told that they had moved further up the street. When I arrived at the correct location the front office staff was friendly and that was the only positive experience. When the vet, I believe Dr. Stenseng (that's the card they gave me) came in and did the exam he explained to me what the procedure would entail. I told him that she had surgery in June for a growth on her leg and they had clipped her toenails then. I also mentioned because of that surgery, I already had a protective collar and wouldn't need one. He mentioned "when we sedate her" and I asked why she needed to be sedated and he said because I mentioned her nails being clipped while under sedation. I once again said she was already going to be under because of her surgery. He explained that they would use light sedation b/c this type of procedure required it, but again he did say "light" sedation. After over 4 hrs and seeing 4 dogs come in after me and leave before me, I finally asked why it was taking so long and how come dogs came after and left before. She explained to me because my dog was having a procedure and the other dogs weren't but yet they were still being examined by the vet?! Finally they came out with my dog who was completely out of it. I practically dragged her out to the parking lot only to not be able to get her in the car because she was so drugged. At this point I had to drag her back in to ask for help. Having her walking across the parking lot three times, needless to say a bandage that was supposed to stay clean was filthy! It was also very apparent that the vet tech that came out to help me was not happy about it all. They also had a protective cone on her even though I said I didn't need it. At this point I didn't care because I was going to be at least 5 hours late for work and wouldn't have time to put the one I already had on her. Getting her out of the car when I got home was another challenge because of the heavy sedation but I managed. As I said earlier she had surgery in June and was not even remotely close to being sedated like that. When I got home from work on day two post procedure. I walked into a completely different dog! She was so stressed out, was pacing, highly agitated and it was as if doggy dementia set in. I thought maybe she was agitated because of the protective collar although she didn't act like that in June. When I got home on day three she was still the same and I could not get her to settle down. I also noticed a very foul odor coming from her face area. I stuck my hands under her face to try and figure it out and it was sopping wet. I took the protective collar off only to find a huge laceration where the collar was cutting into her neck. I should have taken a picture of that! She had instant relief when I took the collar off. Clearly they placed a collar on her that was too small as the picture shows. The collar on the right was from her surgery in June. The one on the left is the one Epic put on her. You can also see just how dirty the bandage got from her multiple trips across the parking lot. Which brings me to my last complaint. When I went to change her bandage, they had actually placed the adhesive tape over her fur instead of around the coban. If you increase the picture you can see this and you can see its wrapped around multiple times. Needless to say it was very difficult to get off of her, only to find two more pieces of adhesive tape placed vertically down her paw, under the coban and gauze. I am in healthcare and I have never seen adhesive placed directly over hair. Her dressing was nothing like this from her regular vet when she had her surgery in June. It pains me to say how dissatisfied I am with Epic. My dog was put through a horrible experience all because of improper care that could have been avoided. Please for all pets out there do better!! It was a very stressful day, the other hospital couldn't do the procedure and recommended VCA in Murrieta (I don't recommend taking any pets there) This Emergency room was comfortable and was able to do the procedure. Took my boy Zeke here for surgery after we found out he had a bowel obstruction. Dr. Stenseng was very honest and realistic about my options and let me decide with no pressure or persuasion. Positive review :My dog, Rockie, needed to be taken to an emergency vet right away after we noticed he was what we thought was urinating blood. Our dog is family and I got online right away to look up emergency vets to take him too. I called and local ones had a long wait time. Every one I looked up had decent reviews but I went straight to the bad ones to see. Not having a lot of time, we just took him to the one our main veterinarian recommended which happened to be the closest. I was so scared bc some of the reviews can freak you out. We went to EPIC hospital. They just recently moved into their new location 2 weeks ago. The building is easily accessible with lots of parking. The inside was so clean and spacious . The staff was so helpful and friendly. Due to the severity of our dog's situation, he was seen right away. We met Dr. Sean Stenseng who is the surgeon/vet there on this particular day (we went on a Sunday ). He was so nice and just made us feel at ease with the situation we had. He explained after he examined Rockie, that he had an abscess that ruptured and the blood was coming from where the abscess broke the skin, this saved his life bc usually it ruptures the abdomen (this was a complication from neutering surgery he had the week prior ). Dr. Sean Stenseng performed his surgery. He called us to tell us the situation was worse than he thought. He was informative and empathetic but we trusted his opinion. He decided the infection needed to be controlled so he packed his Inside wound with gauze and we would have to take him everyday for surgery /anesthesia to have the gauze repacked until the infection was gone and he could be sewn up and recover . This was an extremely stressful and scary time but I felt like I was going to lose my dog. My husband and I were so at ease and trusted Dr Sean Stenseng that we opted to have him perform the daily surgery even though it was more $ to go there than a regular vet bc we felt this was the best chance for a Rockie. So we took Rockie back to Dr Sean Stenseng the next 4 days until it was his day off then we had our main veterinarian perform the surgery . Our dog was excited every day to go back and see the staff and Dr. even when he knew he was going to have surgery again . I feel like Dr Sean Stenseng saved his life . (The day before we took him to Epic, we went to another veterinarian that was open bc of his swollen leg and they didn't think it was anything major and not a complication ). Dr Sean Stenseng was amazing and we placed all our trust in him with our Rockie and prayed for the best scenario. I would hands down take any of my animals here if there needed emergency service. The staff is warm and welcoming , it is clean and spacious, and our surgeon made us feel at ease during one of the hardest and scariest weeks. 10/10 recommend read more

My family and I drove to Temecula for a wedding and had our English Bulldogs with us. My oldest bulldog Matai got really sick towards the end of our trip and was admitted due to severe dehydration from excessive vomiting and diarrhea. It cost more than I wanted to pay especially being on the road and family occasion. I'd be remiss though if I did not share about the wonderful service from the graveyard staff (front desk, financial representative, including the doctor) there. Our dog had an allergic reaction in the evening when most hospitals were closed. Thankfully, we saw that the Emergency Pet Clinic is open 24/7. They were able to treat her very quickly. We are so grateful for their staff who were both understanding and prompt to respond to this unexpected reaction. If left untreated, we are unsure what would've happened. The vet even asked my husband to wait for the shot to kick in and check to make sure she didn't need a stronger medication. I had to share my absolute amazement at how impressed we were at not only the level of expertise, but also the compassion from each and every individual that we interacted with. We brought our German Shepherd, Milo, who had a sudden onset of severe seizures. We had no idea why, and we were close to panicking as we didn't know what to do. We brought Milo in, who had to be brought in on a gurney as he just had a seizure a few minutes prior. They determined this was an emergency, took him in immediately, and began treatment. The good news is that he has responded to therapy, his seizures have stopped, and we are so grateful to have found this emergency pet clinic as they probably saved Milo's life. Most of the staff was very nice. Unfortunately one person in general was quite rude, Jordan. The nurse asked that if anything happened or changed to please notify the staff. My dog threw up a large amount and there were brown spots in the bile. I told him and he said in a rude tone "yeah, take a picture of it and show the doctor." Then proceeded to hand me paper towels and told me they were to clean it up. No care for the fact that I'm here concerned about my pet. Later, after I spoke to one tech about my military ID and that I forgot it at home - showed my DD214 - was told by the tech who presented the pricing that I would receive a 5% discount, even though he was the not the one taking payment or even involved in my pets care, he interjected that they could not give me the discount unless I had my military ID. I am absolutely disgusted with his treatment towards me. How someone who is so rude could work with people undergoing an already upsetting time is beyond me. He should be reprimanded or fired. read more

Our cat passed away at home in the evening. The staff at EPIC was so understanding and accommodating as I brought him in at 11pm in the middle of the week for cremation services. We weren't even patients there before but they treated us with such care and compassion. We then received a sympathy card in the mail signed by all the staff members. So unexpected and beautifully moving. I will surely keep this in mind next time we are looking for veterinary care. I highly recommend this hospital. read more

These folks were amazing. So gentle and kind. My Chihuahua endured a brutal attack from another dog. Unfortunately, she didn't make it. If I good give this business a negative number I would! I took my Husky-Akita mix "Ruca" into this emergency clinic on 07/25 because she had not eaten for three days and also could not keep down water. Her symptoms also included terrible diarrhea as well as severe vomiting. When I arrived at the clinic the people in the front questioned me several times if I had called ahead of time because they were very busy! I was sent to this emergency clinic by another vet near me because they said that she needed to be seen immediatly because it was an emergency situation. They did not take it as an emergency at all! They sent me to a "triage room" (mind you I had my 5 year old daughter with me as well in tears) and told me that her vitals were fine and unless i wanted to wait over 12 hours for her to be seen by a doctor to just bring her home and bring her back if the symptoms got worse. WELL THEY DID! the next morning (this would be day 4 of no water or food ingestion) Ruca was a very healthy dog who was only 1 and a half years old current on all of her shots and never had any medical issues. On 07/26 i returned the emergency pet clinic at 7 a.m. with Ruca and was greeted by the front desk staff (the only nice people in this whole clinic) I dont remember her name but she was very kind and actually seemed concerned about my pet. A nurse was then sent out and checked her vitals and this will never leave my head "her gums are pink" so her oxygen levels are fine and she seems steady. I opted to keep her there and paid the 150$ for the exam and was told to leave and the doctor would call me as soon as he had seen Ruca. 3 hours later I received a call from the doctor stating he could not figure out what was wrong with my pet and that he would need to run diagnostics to include blood work, urinalysis, and an x-ray for $1250.00 Outrageous pricing at this hospital! but i paid it because I didnt want anything to happen to my best friend and wanted to make sure she got the treatment she needed. I received another call from the doctor around 2 p.m. (4 hours later) and he explained that ruca had a kidney infection, UTI, as well as a few other issues and explained to me that she had needed to be hospitalized so he can "IV" treat her in order to rehydrate her!!!!!! WHY WAS SHE NOT ALREADY BEING HYDRATED HE KNEW SHE HAD SEVERE DIARHEA AND VOMITING WHY DID NO ONE CALL TO ASK ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I picked Ruca up finally around 4:30 p.m. she could not even walk!!!! I had to carry her to my truck (no offering from the staff for help) as soon as I got home Ruca was pooping blood!!!! (THE DOCTOR TOLD ME THERE WAS NO BLOOD IN HER STOOOLLLL!!!!!!!!!! HER GUMS WERE BLACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RUCA DIED 30 minutes after leaving this horrible heartless emergency clinic. NO OFFERING OF ANY OTHER TREATMENT. NO OFFERING OF A LOWER PRICE THAN 6000$ to hospitalize my dog. I have never been to such a terrible animal hospital in my life. If you have to drive anywhere else to ensure your pet does not die in the care of this facility who just leaves animals stuck in a cage without checking on them or giving them the proper care they need then do it! All the owner and this place wants is there money and for your pets to die obviously without caring what so ever. I will be asking for my full refund back and reporting this business to BBB and go to the end of the earth to ensure that my daughter (pet) Ruca gets the justus she truly deserves after suffering with the most heartless doctors and staff I have ever met. They did not even offer me anything of eunathasia or even warn me that my dog would die if she was not hospitalized WARNING AGAIN!!!! DO NOT EVER TAKE YOUR PET HERE EVER!!!!! THEY WILL JUST LET YOUR ANIMAL SUFFER AND DIE ON YOUR DIME!!!! I AM OUT 2000$ as well as my best friend (who was actually my emotional support dog) as I am a disabled vet. Do not come here!!!!!! Go anywhere else but to this place. Read all the other reviews before you decide if you really want your pet to suffer and die in the care of these unwilling unhelpful uncaring doctors!!! read more

My young and curious Husky/German Shepherd is a gourmet who delights in sampling supposedly indestructible plastic or rubber toys and finds it a challenge to prepare her own meals from human items on counters or in the trash. I definitely need a veterinary ER that I can rely on, and I have found one in EPIC. Their new location on the corner of Jefferson and Montezuma is easy to locate, has excellent vets and support staff, plenty of parking, and is immaculately clean. EPiC is run as if it was an ER for humans. This means that you wait in the lobby while your pet is diagnosed; again, after joining your pet and the vet to discuss the treatment options and during the treatment. My girl has been there on multiple occasions (don't judge me...) and EPIC has never steered me wrong, nor suggested any treatment that wasn't necessary. They have actually suggested suggested not to do certain procedures unless her condition got worse. And in that case, they provide a 24 hour window where you can return at no additional charge for the visit if it's the same condition; only for any additional treatment, if required. My dog is family to me. I want the best for her, and I have found it. read more

In over 50 years of owning pets, I have NEVER come across a more awesome, professional, compassionate, loving and thorough veterinarian emergency clinic!! I can't say enough about their facility and would highly recommend them hands down! My Great Dane developed bloat and she is now on the mend and going to survive thanks to all of them especially Dr Saaiman who did the surgery and Dr Petrucci who provided post op care.
