They have lockers for your Amazon deliveries . The staff is super friendly and it feels like a community . The building host events throughout the year it's a sweet and fun way to get to know your neighbors . It's very safe . Probably the safest place I've ever lived . And the car garage is also safe . No one is getting in there . I would say most people in this building are over 50+years . So it's very quiet . I love the location too. Really no complains other than maybe I wish the parking structure was bigger but it was build in the 60s so I get it . And maybe the pool needs to be a little more modernized . Pool feels a run down . Other than that 10/10 and 5 stars on this place .

The elevators are something straight out of "tower of terror," and one (of the two) appears to always be broken. Some of the units appear to have been somewhat modernized, but what really needs to happen is a wholesale gutting of the building. I doubt that the $$$ for said gutting will ever appear, however.

Our guide was a man named Richard, who I believe has lived there for quite a few years. This is a lovely, and yes, OLDER building. They have a fairly large sitting room on the first floor and I was quite surprised that no one was sitting there reading a book, as I would surely do if I lived there. We walked over to what was the original entrance with a long garden walkway from Ocean Boulevard. I forgot to ask why they use the less elaborate Linden entrance now. Anyway, we took the elevator up to the top floor where the ballroom is. It had large windows on 3 sides and offered views of the water, north and west over the downtown area. I was happy to get back down to the first floor as the elevator was a little slow for my tastes! I'll add some photos for you to see. My favorite part of this building is the mailboxes. Also, they have a guard / doorman which is a great throwback to earlier times!

Other that being under constant surveillance living under the fear of legal action if you change anything in your unit it's a great place to live. Most people who live here are funny functional alcoholics. I recommend spending 1/2 a million for a unit here unless you're trash who inherited money and drive a beat up car POS car. Here are my pros and cons:…read more PROS: +There is always parking for guests, thanks to the neighboring churches. +There is security in the garage at night +The front lawn and hallways seem to be cleaned/maintained daily +Never had to wait for a laundry machine, and laundry is 50 cents to wash and 50 cents to dry +There is a pool and spa +Neighbors are all pretty quiet +Walking distance to CVS, Jack in the Box, Baskin Robbins, Arby's and Walgreens. All across the street. CONS: -everything is pretty old. Not the sharpest looking place -I feel uncomfortable with all the maintenance guys around during the day. One time I was laying out at the pool and two took a break across the way to ogle. -They don't put up notices when they do work on the roof, which seems to happen pretty often. It's really loud. -No recycling facilities -Even though it's next to Bixby Knolls and next to churches, I've seen broken glass from cars every once in a while. -Sometimes the post office person leaves packages on the floor of the lobby.

This is long overdue, especially since I've lived here for 6 years and never knew about a Yelp page…read morefor this complex until a friend of mine told me. So here it goes: I would like to start off by saying that I actually OWN my place and don't rent. Therefore, I pay HOA and feel like it doesn't go to anywhere? I understand we've updated our landscaping company, but I don't really see a huge difference when walking around the complex. Second, a HUGE con of living at this complex is how there's no in-unit laundry. After walking for what feels like miles across the complex to do laundry over a hundred times, I'm getting so over it and I guarantee that you will too. Honestly, they should put two laundry rooms (one on either side of the complex) bc the only one they have is by the entrance and that's the opposite side of where my unit is located. Third, the gym is absolutely horrible. We pay all of this money to live in a nice/gated community, but the gym looks worse than a Fitness 19. It definitely needs to be updated and I believe there's been talk for an update, but no work has been done. Fourth, I don't own any pets and can attest to the fact that 90% of the people living here who have dogs don't pick up their dog's waste. I mean, c'mon... you literally have to watch where you step because you might bring home a smelly surprise. Fifth, the people around here are extremely nosy. If you have a life and are not anti-social, the chances of your neighbors gossiping or talking to others behind your back is high. My advice for that is keep on doing what you're doing, be respectful, and kill them with kindness. Walk around with a smile on your face and fake it 'til you make it :) This complex deserves 3 stars because it's safe. EXTREMELY SAFE. There's also many great restaurants, bars, and close to major freeways. Fortunately, the value of my home has increased tri-fold and I didn't think that was going to happen in such a short period of time. Therefore, I suggest purchasing a condo here instead of renting because I believe owning will help you look past most of the cons of this complex. In conclusion, there's clearly more cons than pros. I would like to voice my concerns with those who sit on the HOA board, but too bad they're the main gossipers of this complex. Lol I've enjoyed my time here and believe you will too, so long as you avoid nosy neighbors and be respectful to other people's property.
